Odin was surprisingly efficient.

Shortly after Daniel returned to his room after Odin promised to gift him the gauntlet, a guard delivered it.

Originally, Odin had intended to take Daniel directly to his vault to retrieve it. But after giving it some thought, he decided against it. If Daniel stepped into the vault and started asking for this and demanding that, Odin would never hear the end of it.

Odin had made a very wise decision by taking precautions against Daniel. Otherwise, with Daniel’s nature, he really would have shameless begged for more treasures.

Opening the box, the gleaming golden Infinity Gauntlet lay inside. Its metallic golden shine reflected onto Daniel’s face, a glow common to all high-grade treasures.

Since the gauntlet wasn’t inlaid with any gems yet, the six empty sockets on its surface gave it a somewhat incomplete look.

The gauntlet was much larger than Daniel’s hand, but when he slipped his arm inside, a series of mechanical clinking sounds echoed out as the gauntlet perfectly adjusted to fit his hand.

Flexing his fingers, Daniel felt thoroughly satisfied. Though the gauntlet looked bulky, wearing it didn’t feel heavy at all. On the contrary, it was extremely comfortable and didn’t pinch his hand in the slightest.

Of course, that probably had something to do with Daniel’s own toughness as well. After all, he had to be strong enough to withstand the power of the Infinity Stones. As for the Infinity Gauntlet itself, it was built to withstand tremendous amounts of force without easily breaking.

Daniel happily admired the gauntlet on his right hand for a while before taking it off.

Even without any gems, the gauntlet looked pretty slick when worn, but Daniel still didn’t plan on wearing it around all the time. Carrying just a single gauntlet felt a bit awkward.

Daniel couldn’t help but think greedily that once Thanos forged the other gauntlet in the future, having the full set would be true perfection.

’Wait a minute, was Thanos gauntlet for the left hand or the right hand?’

A serious question suddenly occurred to Daniel.

The gauntlet he had right now was for the right hand. If Thanos went and made another right-handed gauntlet, snagging it later would be totally useless.

Thinking back carefully, Daniel really couldn’t remember whether it was left-handed or right-handed.

When he watched the movies back in the day, all his attention had been on Black Widow, not to mention Scarlet Witch’s chest. Who on earth was paying attention to Thanos glove?

Could a gauntlet be as nice to look at as those?

Over the next few days, Thor took Daniel all around Asgard for sightseeing.

In truth, Thor wasn’t overly keen on doing it. He was the son of Odin, Thor the God of Thunder, why should he be acting as a tour guide for someone else? If he had that kind of free time, he would rather go fight small monsters in the other realms.

However, under Odin’s menacing gaze and the divine power weighing down on his palm, Thor obediently spent the next few days showing Daniel around Asgard, even dragging Loki along with him. After all, good brothers should share their good fortune.

Having obtained the gauntlet, Daniel was already completely satisfied and felt too embarrassed to refuse their hospitality. After spending several days in Asgard, he finally brought up the matter of leaving today.

At this point, Daniel desperately wanted to return home. His heart was already there.

"I’ve been away from Earth for so long, so I think it’s about time I head back," Daniel said, taking his leave from Odin.

"Why not stay a bit longer? There are still plenty of places in Asgard you haven’t visited," Odin urged him to stay.

He genuinely wanted Daniel to hang around for a few more days to build up their relationship. After all, he had already given away the Infinity Gauntlet, yet he couldn’t see any immediate returns, or rather, he might never see the return himself.

Ragnarok was meant to happen after Odin’s death. Having finally found a turning point, Odin was desperate for Thor and Daniel to hit it off so Daniel could help deal with his daughter when the time came.

Odin cursed inwardly, casting an annoyed glance at his son. Thor, on the other hand, had a look of utter relief on his face, sighing in his heart: ’Finally, I’m free.’

He had only known Daniel for a few days and shared a few drinks with him. At best, they were drinking buddies.

When they were drinking, they were sworn brothers. But if Daniel came asking for a favor afterward? Sorry, no time.

Their relationship hadn’t reached that level yet. If his father hadn’t demanded it, Thor would never have patiently accompanied Daniel around. Besides, Thor hadn’t held the best impression of Daniel recently.

Because Odin kept bringing Daniel up in front of him, it made Thor quite impatient. Odin kept nagging and reminding him to become friends with Daniel, turning what was originally a slight fondness into mild annoyance.

After all, Thor’s rebellious phase had lasted for thousands of years. And now, his usually forgetful mind suddenly remembered that Daniel had once lifted his beloved hammer, essentially stealing his thunder.

’He’s finally leaving. Haha.’ Thor felt overjoyed.

"Well, alright then."

Seeing that Daniel truly wanted to leave, Odin didn’t insist on stopping him any further. However, he still had another trick up his sleeve.

"I would like Thor to go to Earth with you so he can experience human society. It will help him when he inherits the throne in the future. As he is now, all Thor knows how to do is fight and kill."

Odin smiled. Off to the side, Loki silently clenched his fist, his eyes dimming slightly, he was unwilling to accept this.

Why was it taken for granted that Thor would inherit the throne?

Although Loki didn’t necessarily just want to be king, he wanted to prove himself, to show that he wasn’t any less than Thor. Unfortunately, everyone kept turning a blind eye to him.

Hearing Odin’s words, Daniel couldn’t help but think, ’Why does everyone keep trying to push people onto me?’

Earlier, there was someone similar to Thor, the black panther T’Challa, whose dad had dumped him right at Daniel’s side. Now Odin was doing the exact same thing.

After thinking it over for a moment, Daniel smiled and said, "No problem. I’ll take good care of Thor on Earth."

Daniel actually liked hanging out with people like Thor. He’d had plenty of good times with T’Challa before, so he was naturally happy to make friends with someone like Thor. Besides, having a prince as a friend wasn’t exactly a bad thing.

"I’m not going!"

Thor instantly blew his top, shouting loudly. He wanted to fight monsters, not go to Earth.

"You go if I tell you to go!" Odin scolded him without holding back.

Whenever Thor made a mistake, Odin would usually speak to him like this. Having occupied a high position for so long, it was hard for him to drop his authoritative stance.

Thor felt quite embarrassed, especially with Daniel there, as though his pride had taken a hit.

"I’m not going," Thor repeated. He picked up his hammer, turned around, and prepared to leave.

"Stop!" Odin was so furious his beard trembled. Thor turned a deaf ear and walked straight out of the hall.

On the Bifrost.

Odin came out to see Daniel off in person, while Thor stood beside Daniel with his head held low. After receiving a heavy dose of paternal love from Odin, Thor had settled down and stepped onto the Rainbow Bridge with great reluctance.

"Feel free to visit Asgard whenever you have time. I’ve already informed Heimdall, just call his name if you wish to come," Odin said to Daniel with a smile.

Daniel nodded and politely replied, "Alright, I’ll visit often."

Then Odin turned to Thor, speaking with annoyance, "Once you reach Earth, watch carefully and learn well. I hope that when you return, you will be a qualified king."

Thor remained silent, but Odin didn’t mind. He nodded to Heimdall, who plunged his long sword into the control pedestal. Following a flash of rainbow light, Daniel and Thor vanished from the spot.

Odin stood there for a moment before heading back.

He needed to prepare for the Odinsleep as well. Holding on for a bit longer meant buying a bit more time for Thor. He had truly worried himself sick over his son.

And so, near the end of the year 2000, Daniel finally returned to Earth.
