Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela

Chapter 137: Building a Defense Tower

  • Next Chapter

Just as everyone was still shocked that all the weapons across the world had suddenly launched into the sky, a voice suddenly rang in everyone’s ears.

"No more stones."

"No more spears."

"No more slings."

"No more weapons!"

"No more systems!!!"

"No more superpowers."

That voice rang inside the minds of everyone in the world, except Orion Cross.

Those who were watching the news immediately understood that the owner of that voice was the mastermind behind this incident.

"Judging by their expressions, is this a worldwide broadcast?"

Orion Cross glanced at the reporter and host on television, whose faces had suddenly changed drastically, and spoke.

He could not hear that voice, nor did he know what Apocalypse had said. He could only judge by everyone’s expressions.

"That’s Charles’s voice. He’s controlling Charles!"

Magneto’s expression was extremely ugly as he spoke to everyone.

"Impossible. Cerebro is right next door. Without it, even Charles couldn’t do something like this!"

Hank looked completely incredulous.

"Apocalypse can amplify mutants’ abilities."

Orion Cross spoke calmly.

"It’s over."

Hank’s legs went soft, and he collapsed directly to the ground.

"It’s just that all the superweapons have been launched like fireworks. Why are you acting like your whole family died? Hurry up and get up. Start the plane."

Seeing Hank’s expression, Orion Cross frowned and kicked him.

"No. I can’t leave."

Hank came back to his senses, raised his head, and looked at everyone. "Someone knows Cerebro is here. They’ll definitely think we did this!"

"Someone? Who?"

Magneto asked with tightly furrowed brows.

"The authorities turn a blind eye to the school, but the military still sent spies to monitor us."

"Although Charles immediately knew about the spies’ existence, he didn’t drive them away. He even took the initiative to honestly reveal some of our secrets."

Hank pressed a hand to his head with a headache. He had advised against it back then, but Charles had not listened at all.

"In other words, the military is very likely to come knocking very soon to demand answers."

Orion Cross glanced at the nearby plane and had a decision in his mind. He looked at Magneto. "You stay behind and protect the students and the school."

"No, I..."

"Don’t forget, Nina is staying here too."

Seeing that Magneto was about to refuse, Orion Cross threw out that move directly, and Magneto quietly closed his mouth.

Magneto sighed and was about to speak, but his expression suddenly changed. "They’re already here."

His ability had sensed a large amount of metal approaching the school rapidly through the air.

"Hank, go start the plane. Come out and pick us up later."

After saying this to Hank, who was still sitting on the ground, Orion Cross turned to the others. "We’ll go meet them first. We’ll also evacuate the students while we’re at it."

"I’m counting on you."

Hank nodded hard and climbed up from the ground.

At the school entrance, on a wide stretch of lawn, several transport aircraft were descending.

"Why don’t we gather them and fight back together? They should be warriors, not students!"

Magneto looked at the mutant students hiding in the distance, then looked toward Orion Cross and asked in a deep voice.

"Who told most of you mutants to be so fragile?"

Orion Cross ignored Magneto and answered casually.

"Fragile?"

For a moment, Magneto did not understand the meaning of that word.

"Like the Wild Gods in World of Warcraft. They hit hard, but they die fast too," Orion Cross explained.

In fact, aside from mutants with physical enhancement abilities like Wolverine, no matter how powerful the other mutants were, most of them had high attack but low defense and thin health. They were fragile.

Against ordinary people, that was one thing. But against a trained military force, one lapse in attention, one accidental discharge, and they could be taken away directly by a dozen bullets.

"Wild Gods? What do they look like?"

Hearing Orion Cross mention "gods," Diana could not help asking curiously.

"Pigs, bears, deer, things like that."

As Orion Cross answered, he looked behind him. Hank’s X-Jet, specially made for the academy, had already taken off.

"The weapons in their hands aren’t metal!"

Looking at the soldiers descending from the transport aircraft, Magneto’s expression changed at once. He directly raised his hand, wanting to control the steel in the aircraft.

"There’s a strange electromagnetic wave from the aircraft interfering with me. I... can’t control it!"

Magneto’s expression changed drastically.

"You’re Magneto, not Iron Man. Electromagnetic waves are interfering with you?"

Orion Cross smiled helplessly, then looked at Diana beside him, who was eager to act. "Looks like only the two of us can go."

"Always ready."

Diana patted her chest and gave Orion Cross a smile.

"Go!"

The instant Orion Cross finished speaking, he and Diana disappeared. Only a deep crater was left where they had stood.

In the eyes of the mutant students hiding in the distance, Orion Cross and Diana leaped up, landed on the military helicopters, and punched the transport aircraft to the ground.

"So this is why the Hulk enjoys smashing things so much."

Orion Cross casually tore a transport aircraft in half and threw the two pieces left and right toward the soldiers.

"Fire!!"

Stryker clenched his fists and shouted the order.

The sonic weapons in the soldiers’ hands instantly covered the entire open field.

The mutant students who were slightly closer instantly fainted, and even Magneto could not avoid it. Metal could not block sound, and without any resistance in that area, he also collapsed to the ground.

As for Mystique Raven, because of the strengthening from the Ascension Ritual, she managed to endure it by relying on her physical quality. Even so, she still felt dizzy and lightheaded.

As for Orion Cross and Diana, who were the closest to the attack... they felt nothing at all.

The electromagnetic suppression waves and sonic weapons specially made to deal with mutants were, to Orion Cross and Diana, not even as threatening as ordinary bullets and firearms.

"Retreat! Retreat!!!!"

After Stryker secretly threw a suppression grenade at Orion Cross and discovered that it had no effect at all, he immediately gave the order to retreat.

"Don’t be in such a hurry to leave."

Orion Cross kicked away half an aircraft that Diana had casually thrown over, then raised his right hand. Stryker’s legs were instantly trapped by flowing sand, and yellow sand continuously rose from the ground...

Splash!

Orion Cross summoned a ball of ice water and splashed it onto Magneto’s face.

Magneto opened his eyes in confusion, looked at the scene around him, and took a deep breath. "Charles is too foolish. They never wanted to coexist peacefully with us. They only want to eliminate us!"

He could not imagine what would have happened if Orion Cross and Diana had not been here this time. After he was instantly knocked unconscious by the sonic weapon, who would have protected this school? Who would have protected the mutants?

Hank’s plane had already stopped nearby, waiting for Orion Cross and the others to board.

"We should go. They may still send people back. Prepare more metal and hold the defense here."

Orion Cross pointed at a small Solar Disc nearby. "I made you a defense tower. Tell the students not to leave this range. They won’t be able to tower dive and force a kill."
