Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela

Chapter 135: Apocalypse’s Abilities Seem Familiar

"You can control Charles?"

Everyone around them, aside from those who did not know Professor X’s ability, was instantly stunned.

Professor X was the strongest psychic mutant to date.

With the Cerebro amplifier developed by Hank McCoy, he could connect to the mental world of every person on Earth.

If he wanted to, he could even make the leaders of every nation commit suicide at the same time.

Although people had not yet begun using "Omega" to refer to the strongest class of mutants, everyone still knew very well that Professor X and Magneto were not on the same level as them.

Yet now, the strongest psychic mutant had been easily controlled by Orion Cross, who had only just obtained his ability?

What was even more terrifying was that after Orion Cross controlled Charles, he did not merely control his body and speech. He could even control his ability.

Just as everyone fell into silence from shock, Jean Grey woke up.

"Thank you... You’re welcome. Huh?"

Jean Grey got up to thank Orion Cross, but for some reason, the words "You’re welcome" came out of her own mouth.

"Sorry. I was just testing it."

Orion Cross smiled and apologized.

"It’s fine. It’s all right..."

Jean Grey came back to her senses and understood that Orion Cross had controlled her to say "You’re welcome" just now. She stared at him blankly and shook her head.

The "strongest psychic mutant" had been controlled, and someone with power so terrifying that even the "strongest psychic mutant" feared it had also been controlled.

Everyone around them instantly felt that their own abilities had become dull and tasteless.

"Good thing you’re a friend, not an enemy."

Magneto looked at Orion Cross with worry and sighed emotionally.

Since he could break through Charles’s mental defense, Magneto even began to suspect whether that helmet immune to psychic control could defend against Orion Cross’s psychic attacks.

Orion Cross looked at the group of people who were helping him imagine things on their own and felt helpless.

The ability he had obtained was indeed very powerful in a certain sense, but in most situations, it was completely useless.

The reason Orion Cross could control Charles and Jean Grey was not because he himself had obtained some terrifyingly powerful mind-control ability, but because both of them were mutants with psychic abilities.

After absorbing the Phoenix Force, Orion Cross had gained an ability that allowed him to become the ruler of psychic-type powers.

Any being with psychic abilities, telepathy, or mind-control powers would be unable to resist his control.

But if it was an ordinary person, or someone like Magneto, Beast Hank, or Mystique, who did not possess any psychic-type ability, then this ability of Orion Cross’s was basically a blank slate.

Of course, he would not deliberately explain that. Doing so would make him look very stupid.

It was just like how he had previously reminded Diana not to explain the principle of the Lasso of Truth to others every time she used it.

"Jean, can you control your power now?"

Charles pushed his wheelchair over to Jean Grey and asked.

"Yes. Thanks to him."

Jean Grey lowered her head, glanced at Orion Cross, and said.

"Then you will become one of our most outstanding students."

Charles smiled and nodded. Then he turned his wheelchair toward Magneto and Orion Cross. "Aside from enrolling Nina, what else brought you here?"

"Apocalypse."

Orion Cross said those two words.

"What?"

Charles looked at Orion Cross in confusion.

"Are you sure you want to talk about it here?"

Orion Cross glanced around. Quite a few students were watching. With a casual motion, he opened a portal to Charles’s headmaster’s office.

"Convenient ability."

Charles shrugged and pushed his wheelchair into the portal.

After everyone arrived in the headmaster’s office, Hank hurriedly left.

"He went to inject himself with his suppressant serum. Don’t mind him. What is this ’Apocalypse’ you mentioned just now?"

Charles sat behind the headmaster’s desk and looked at Orion Cross, who was on the sofa.

"The earliest known mutant. He existed in Egypt thousands of years ago. The gods, God, Ra, all of them in this world were aliases he once used."

Orion Cross explained calmly.

"We’re going to slay another god?"

Diana, who was sitting nearby, had just put down her shield. When she heard Orion Cross’s words, her expression became a little strange.

"That word ’another’ is very well used."

Charles laughed and teased, then looked at Orion Cross. "What is his goal?"

"What goal could he have? Overturn the world and rebuild it into one where he stands supreme.

Aren’t gods all like that?

Don’t tell me you were hoping his goal was world peace and building a better society."

Orion Cross shrugged and said.

"What are his abilities?"

After hearing Orion Cross state Apocalypse’s goal, Charles no longer said anything unnecessary and directly asked the key question.

"He has many abilities, such as controlling sand, enhancing other mutants’ abilities, teleportation, mind control..."

As Orion Cross spoke, he suddenly stopped.

Why did this feel a little familiar?

"Uh, are you sure you aren’t describing your own abilities?"

Charles glanced awkwardly at Magneto and asked Orion Cross.

"Or is this ’Apocalypse’ who wants to overturn the world and become a god actually you?"

Magneto looked at Orion Cross warily and quietly began mobilizing the metal in the room.

"Wants to become a god? Is that supposed to be an insult to me?"

Orion Cross chuckled softly, leaned back on the sofa, placed both hands behind him, and sat with the posture of a big shot as he looked at Magneto. "If you don’t believe me, just wait a little. He’ll come looking for you and Charles."

"Looking for us? Why?"

Charles frowned and asked.

"He needs the Four Horsemen as his protectors. Magneto can count as one."

"What about me?"

"He has another ability."

Orion Cross looked at Charles calmly. "He can use a special ritual to transfer his consciousness into someone else, thereby obtaining that person’s body. Through this ritual, he can continuously accumulate mutant abilities and ultimately become all-knowing and all-powerful."

"The reason he wants you is very simple. He was betrayed back then, which is why he stayed underground for thousands of years. Your mind-control ability is exactly what he needs."

Orion Cross pointed at Charles’s wheelchair. "You can rest assured. After he occupies your body, the healing factor in his body will cure your spine."

"But by then, I would no longer be me."

Charles smiled and shook his head, then looked at Magneto. "Erik, we have to prepare."

"Too late."

Orion Cross pointed at the purple barrier appearing beside Magneto and said calmly.

"Prepare for battle!"

Charles’s expression changed, and he immediately opened a drawer and pressed an alarm button.

"It’s you?"

Magneto turned to look at Orion Cross. He still had not dispelled his suspicion of him.

"The special effects are completely different, all right? Mine are little sparks. This is a purple, viscous flow. Use your brain, okay?"

Orion Cross looked at the four figures emerging inside the teleportation array and slowly stood up, casually mocking Magneto along the way.
