Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela
Chapter 124: Zeus’s Way of Punishment
"Thank you."
Diana arrived at the answer in her heart and smiled brightly at Orion Cross.
If Orion Cross had not kept another captive alive, they would definitely have chosen to believe Steve Trevor’s words.
"What is going on? Diana, do you know why?"
A young Amazon warrior nearby could not help asking Diana.
They truly could not understand why these two enemies both claimed to be righteous. The Lasso of Truth could not possibly make a mistake.
"Because sometimes, war has no distinction between justice and evil."
Orion Cross helped Diana explain to everyone.
"For example, there is someone who wants to wipe out half the life in the universe to maintain the balance of the universe.
You would think he was evil.
But he himself, and those who believe in his ideals, would think he represents absolute fairness and justice, a supreme saint."
"Wait!"
Steve Trevor could not help speaking. "Who are you? Why are you the only man here? And why are you dressed differently from them? Are you... an outsider like me?"
"How dare you! He is..."
"That’s right. I’m also an outsider. Do you have something to say?"
Hippolyta was about to rebuke him, but Orion Cross stopped her.
"Are you from an island nation? Or from that great country in the East?
No matter what, you should be on the Entente’s side.
You have to help me! Make them release me. Only then do we have a chance to end this war!"
Steve Trevor looked at Orion Cross and spoke excitedly.
"End the First World War, and then what?"
Orion Cross asked calmly.
"End the First... wait?"
Steve Trevor was just about to think of a way to persuade Orion Cross when he suddenly noticed something strange about his wording.
"The First World War."
Diana repeated those words, then raised her head and looked at Orion Cross. "Does that mean there will be a second? A third?"
"War will never disappear, even if the God of War dies."
Orion Cross pointed at the German soldier. "If nothing goes wrong, the one who starts the Second World War will be his country."
"Yes, exactly! They are evil!"
When Steve Trevor heard Orion Cross say that about the Germans, he thought Orion Cross was helping him escape, so he hurriedly chimed in.
"But if there is a Third World War, then the one who starts it will definitely be his country."
Orion Cross’s cold gaze turned toward Steve Trevor as he spoke.
"You!"
Steve Trevor’s eyes widened, and he immediately argued, "Impossible. We love peace, and our nation is built on freedom and democracy. We could never start a war on our own initiative!"
"You’re very young."
Orion Cross walked up to Steve, glanced at him, then turned around. "What do your parents do?"
"Same as me. They’re heroes serving the country!"
Steve Trevor did not understand why Orion Cross was asking this, but he still answered proudly.
"Then, did your parents go to a place in the East called the Forbidden City more than a decade ago?"
Orion Cross asked calmly.
Steve Trevor was rendered speechless.
"Diana, do you know how future history will evaluate this world war?"
Seeing that Steve Trevor was no longer speaking, Orion Cross turned to Diana and asked.
"How will it be evaluated?"
Diana knew Orion Cross had the ability of "prophecy," so she looked at him expectantly.
"A war of dogs biting dogs, capitalist powers carving up the world’s colonies."
Orion Cross glanced at Steve Trevor and the German soldier as he spoke.
"Heh. That’s a vivid description. Two mad dogs who both think they’re righteous."
Diana also glanced at the two men and smiled. "Sure enough, humans are not as perfect as they are described in stories. Perhaps Ares merely used those flaws of theirs."
"Not bad. You’re learning to infer from one example."
Orion Cross clapped lightly and said.
"Once the world war begins, Ares will surely revive. Diana, your mission has indeed arrived..."
Hippolyta sighed, then glanced at Orion Cross. "Fortunately, destiny has given you a guardian god."
"Sister, they probably only entered Themyscira by mistake because of Ares’s revival. How should we deal with them?"
Antiope stepped forward, pointed at the two kneeling men on the ground, and asked.
"These mortals definitely don’t know where Ares is. Just kill them."
Hippolyta glanced at the two men, waved her hand, and said.
"Wait! I know! I know!"
When Steve Trevor heard that these strange people were going to kill him, he hurriedly shouted, "Ares must be with the German army! Those inhuman weapons must have been developed by Ares! I can take you there!"
To survive, and to get the notebook out, Steve Trevor, an atheist, had no choice but to spout nonsense.
"What is your opinion, Diana’s guardian god?"
Hippolyta looked at Orion Cross and asked for his view.
"Keep him."
Orion Cross said.
Slash!
The other German soldier’s head was instantly cut off by Antiope, and blood splashed all over Steve Trevor’s face.
"Thank you! Thank you so much! I will definitely take you to the German army and help you find Ares!"
Steve Trevor let out a huge sigh of relief. Breathing heavily after surviving disaster, he spoke to Orion Cross.
"Ares is among the German army?"
Diana looked at Orion Cross and asked.
"No."
Orion Cross shook his head and pointed at Steve Trevor on the ground. "Ares should be one of his superiors."
"What?!"
Diana looked at Orion Cross in shock, then glared furiously at Steve Trevor.
Earlier, this guy had kept insisting that he was the righteous side, only to be exposed by Orion Cross.
And now, it turned out that even Ares was in the same faction as him?
Steve Trevor grew anxious and hurriedly explained, "No, lady, don’t listen to that yellow-skinned guy’s nonsense. You should believe me! If you don’t believe me, use that rope on me again!"
"You are not worthy of using the Lasso of Truth!"
Diana withdrew the lasso to her waist and looked at him coldly. "You’d better honestly take us to find Ares. Otherwise, I will cut your throat!"
Steve Trevor held his breath, but under someone else’s roof, he had no choice but to lower his head and agree.
"Diana, do you still remember how Zeus dealt with the king who offended him?"
Orion Cross suddenly asked.
"He slept with the king’s queen, then used lightning to destroy his face."
Diana glanced at Steve Trevor, who had just insulted Orion Cross, and answered with a smile.
"Wouldn’t that be a little too much?" Orion Cross asked.
"Yes. Half of it is enough." Diana nodded.
Steve Trevor looked at the two of them in confusion as they suddenly began discussing Zeus’s story in front of him, completely baffled.
"Then fine."
Orion Cross snapped his fingers.
Snap.
Boom!
A tiny bolt of lightning struck Steve Trevor’s left cheek.
