Marvel: I Made the SCP Foundation Real
Chapter 77 The Lunar Base and the Zombie Army
2B had already finished analyzing the device before them. She raised her head and reported to Ethan.
“Commander, I’ve deciphered all its electronic parameters. According to the available data, this appears to be some kind of teleporter. It is currently charging.”
“A teleporter?”
As Ethan studied the device, something occurred to him.
He turned to one of the MTF operators.
“Soldier, take that energy-emitting substance—the one suspected to be Element 115—and place it inside the device’s power unit.”
“Yes, sir.”
Following his instructions, the operator walked over and picked up the substance radiating blue light.
According to 2B’s analysis, it was most likely a mysterious substance known as Element 115, which had arrived on Earth inside a meteorite during World War II.
It was also the culprit that had transported Ryan Sheffield’s MTF Alpha-1 unit into this world all those years ago.
Element 115 possessed immeasurable value.
A single gram contained energy equivalent to ten tons of helium-3, while Earth’s total helium-3 reserves amounted to barely half a ton.
Unless humanity established a permanent Earth–Moon route and began mining the lunar surface, obtaining a steady supply of helium-3 would be impossible.
The small piece of Element 115 before them was already priceless. Two superpowers might willingly wage ten wars over something like this.
“2B, continue searching the computer logs. See if you can find any coordinates.”
Having already examined the teleporter’s records, 2B answered with a relaxed expression.
“Commander, I found them. Six hours ago, the teleporter was activated and transported a group to its default coordinates. Would you like me to reactivate it?”
Ethan hesitated briefly before nodding.
“Activate it.”
“Understood, Commander. I’ll start the system now.”
Under 2B’s control, the abandoned teleporter once again came to life.
A strange metal structure at the center of the machine began emitting energy. A moment later, a blue sphere resembling a miniature wormhole formed in the air.
A tremendous force of suction erupted from it.
“Commander, teleportation has begun!”
Hearing her warning, Ethan stopped resisting and allowed the wormhole created by Element 115 to pull him inside.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself standing in a vast hall.
“Conserve your ammunition! Keep firing! They’re coming again!”
Skye’s shout rang in his ears.
The ground suddenly began trembling, and fragments of rock collapsed into one of the passages, nearly burying it.
“That was the last time!” Skye shouted. “If I use my powers again, this place will definitely collapse! We need to fight our way out!”
Ethan looked around.
He was standing inside a colossal underground cavern riddled with tunnels extending in every direction.
The place resembled an enormous excavation site from the 1950s. Ancient electronic devices and mining equipment could be seen everywhere.
In the middle of this vast underground complex, a group of people was engaged in a vicious battle.
They were the missing Agent Skye, Agent Natasha, S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives, and MTF operators.
Ethan then saw what they were fighting.
A massive horde of zombies charged toward them at speeds surpassing even Usain Bolt. Their eyes glowed like forty-watt light bulbs.
Almost without exception, the zombies wore military uniforms dating back to the 1940s and 1950s.
“Agent Skye? Agent Natasha? What’s going on here?”
Hearing Ethan’s voice, Black Widow glanced over her shoulder amid the fierce fighting. She immediately spotted Ethan and the assault team that had just emerged from the teleporter.
“Commander Ethan? You actually found us! Thank God!”
“It’s a long story, and you might find it difficult to believe, but we’re no longer on Earth.”
Natasha fired several shots before continuing.
“We’re on the Moon!”
Ethan raised an eyebrow and feigned surprise.
“What? We’re on the Moon? Did that strange portal-like machine send us here?”
“That’s right, Commander!” Skye shouted. “But this base is crawling with infected creatures. It has completely fallen!”
“We don’t know where these monsters are coming from, but they’re endless. Every time we eliminate one wave, another appears!”
Ethan looked at the tide of zombies and the defenders’ dwindling firepower, then smiled.
“Ammunition? We have plenty of it.”
As soon as those words left his mouth, numerous ammunition crates materialized in the open space before them.
Skye and Natasha stared at the crates in astonishment.
This was a function Ethan’s Foundation service pistol had gained after its previous upgrade.
Following SCP-939’s containment, the service pistol had received a five-cubic-meter storage space. Although it could not hold living creatures, it was perfectly suited for storing ammunition.
Ethan had already filled the space with a large quantity of supplies.
They had arrived at exactly the right moment.
“Resupply your ammunition! Restock in an orderly manner and reestablish your formation!”
Ethan turned toward his assault team.
“Assault team, join the battle!”
“2B, Miss Elivise, Gwen—I’ll need you three to clear a path ahead!”
The instant he gave the order, 2B surged forward with several powerful leaps.
She drew her sword and plunged into the horde, cutting through zombies as effortlessly as harvesting grass.
Her three support pods accompanied her, pouring continuous fire into the masses of infected crowding the passage.
Elivise was no less terrifying.
Her arms transformed into twin biological blades before she charged into the horde like a tiger among sheep, tearing zombies apart wherever she passed.
Spider-Gwen’s offensive capabilities were weaker than those of Elivise and 2B, but she had still undergone a spider mutation.
Furthermore, during the days she had spent with Elivise and Catherine, the two women had taught her numerous combat techniques.
These ordinary zombies were little more than toys to Gwen. A single punch or sweeping kick could send an entire group flying.
With the three superhuman combatants joining the battlefield, Skye and Natasha finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The exhausted S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives and MTF operators were finally able to withdraw temporarily and replenish their ammunition and supplies.
Once everyone had finished resupplying, Ethan reorganized the force and led them deeper into the lunar base.
With Elivise, 2B, Spider-Gwen, Skye, and Natasha serving as the formation’s spearhead, the team carved its way through the zombie-infested passages and advanced into an unknown underground section.
