Marvel: I Made the SCP Foundation Real
Chapter 46 S-Class Rewards—The Krieg Relic Yukikaze and the Psychic Commander
46: S-Class Rewards—The Krieg Relic, Ethan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The weight in his heart disappeared.
The containment operation was finally complete.
Everything had ended successfully.
[Congratulations, Commander.
SCP-096, “The Shy Guy,” has been successfully contained.] [Based on your performance, this operation has received an S-Class Perfect Containment rating.] [During the containment of SCP-096, S.H.I.E.L.D.
and HYDRA developed intense interest in anomalies.] [Reward obtained: 20,000 Rumor Points.] [You have brought an affiliated force under your control for the first time.] [Reward obtained: 30,000 Rumor Points.] [You contained SCP-096 with an S-Class Perfect rating.] [Based on your operational performance, reward obtained: 50,000 Rumor Points.] [Total Rumor Points obtained: 100,000.] [Calculating special loot rewards…] [Containment completed with an S-Class rating.
Loot quality increased!] Then the first major reward appeared.
[Special Loot obtained: S-Class Legendary Profession Card — Psychic Commander Training Manual.] [Upon using the Psychic Commander Training Manual, Host will receive the corresponding enhancements and training of a Psychic Commander.] [System Evaluation: Only individuals possessing psionic potential are qualified to train as Psychic Commanders.] [Perhaps only one person in a million is born with psionic potential.] [And even among ten thousand psionics, there may not be a single person capable of becoming a qualified Psychic Commander.] Ethan’s eyes immediately sharpened.
But the system wasn’t finished.
[S-Class Special Loot obtained: Legendary Fighter Aircraft — FFR-41 Electronic Combat Fighter, Fairy Yukikaze.] [A super fighter originating from the battles on the planet Fairy.] [The aircraft carries an artificial intelligence that has already evolved into a true artificial lifeform.] [It is accompanied by three FRX-99 Light Cavalry unmanned combat aircraft.] [System Evaluation: The value of FFR-41 Yukikaze is immeasurable.] [Its onboard AI has already evolved into an artificial lifeform, while the aircraft itself possesses combat performance that can be regarded as among the strongest within an atmosphere.] Then came the third reward.
[S-Class Relic-Type Loot obtained: Krieg Regiment Military Whistle.] [S-Class Relic-Type Item: Krieg Regiment Military Whistle.] [Cooldown after each use: One month.] [Upon blowing the whistle, you may summon a Krieg regiment from the Warhammer 40,000 universe to provide military support.] [Each summoned Krieg regiment will consist of exactly 10,000 soldiers.] [System Evaluation: This is a relic-type anomalous item originating from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.] [Every time you use it, you will receive ten thousand of the Emperor’s toughest coins.] [As the military whistle is repeatedly used, it will continuously accumulate energy.] [Once sufficient qualitative evolution occurs, its abilities will evolve further.] After reading the descriptions of the three legendary rewards, Ethan had only one thought.
I’ve struck it rich.
As expected of S-Class Legendary rewards.
Every single one of these three items was enormously powerful and possessed exceptional growth potential.
Together, they represented qualitative improvements in three separate areas— Personal combat power.
Advanced combat vehicles.
And army-scale military strength.
Any one of them alone would have been an extraordinarily valuable reward for the Foundation at its current stage.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t exactly the right moment for Ethan to openly celebrate.
Ophelia and the others saw the brilliant smile on his face and naturally assumed that he was simply delighted at having brought the Chaos Insurgency under his control.
Ethan didn’t yet have time to carefully study his new rewards.
The first thing he needed to do was properly arrange Ophelia’s situation.
Because Ethan had chosen not to directly absorb the Chaos Insurgency into the Foundation, only Ophelia and her adjutant would secretly operate according to Foundation instructions.
On the surface— The Chaos Insurgency and the Foundation would remain enemies.
Even Ethan needed to preserve that hostility.
Only by maintaining an openly adversarial relationship could the Chaos Insurgency conveniently handle the kind of dirty work Ethan didn’t want associated with the Foundation.
For example— The Marvel-universe version of the T-virus currently being researched by the Chaos Insurgency.
Biological viruses like the T-virus, along with many of the technologies that could eventually be developed from that technological branch, weren’t particularly suitable for the Foundation to openly use at present.
Take something like the powerful Tyrant B.O.W.
Such humanoid biological weapons possessed enormous combat power.
And once mass production became established, manufacturing a single Tyrant might not cost much more than producing an ordinary automobile.
But weapons like that could never comfortably appear in public.
If the Foundation openly began deploying large numbers of weapons derived from the T-virus technology tree, its reputation would inevitably suffer.
Regardless of actual lethality, there was an even more obvious problem.
The biological weapons produced by technologies like the T-virus were simply too ugly.
If reporters who loved writing sensational stories ever saw Foundation forces deploying grotesque biological monsters, the organization’s public image would be ruined overnight.
But biotechnology research was closely connected to the path of genetic modification.
That was a field Ethan absolutely could not abandon.
And simply discarding all the valuable biotechnology of the Resident Evil world would be an enormous waste.
Useful technology was still useful technology.
It simply needed to be employed through the proper channel.
That was precisely why Ethan had chosen to establish this hidden subordinate relationship with the Chaos Insurgency.
Conveniently, this world’s Chaos Insurgency had already been pushed onto the biotechnology path because of SCP-008, the Zombie Plague.
Ophelia and several others had even obtained lifespans vastly exceeding those of ordinary humans through that research.
But Ethan had also learned that Ophelia’s longevity came with a serious flaw.
At regular intervals, she needed injections of a specialized inhibitor.
If she stopped taking them, the mutation inside her body could eventually become uncontrollable.
At its current stage, the technology was still far too unstable.
So Ethan’s first priority was to eliminate that hidden danger within Ophelia.
And as luck would have it— The Foundation’s Paradise Island Base already had Dr.
William Birkin.
An expert on the T-virus.
