...

Goosebumps rose all over John’s body as he barely craned his neck. Right in front of him was a huge fist of the thing called the Abomination.

And the fist connected with his face with full force.

Right in the middle of the fight, John had made the rookie mistake of taking his eyes off his opponent. Truthfully, it wouldn’t be wrong to call John a rookie.

Even with the body that was perfectly made to fight, John was still a normal writer underneath it all. And that John was more scared of bullets, like any regular person would be.

That was the reason he reacted to them even when he could’ve tanked them and carried on as Abomination did.

That minor divide between his mind and body was ended in a punch to the face.

’Being a writer won’t help right now. I have to do something about this...’ John’s brain began to itch as he tasted the sweet iron in his mouth. This happening once was more than enough.

The crusty skin on the fist scraped against his entire face as darkness covered his physical vision.

Sure, he could just take the punch as a consequence of his actions, but his body refused to pay for his mind’s shortcomings.

The volumes of One Punch Man opened in his itching brain. The pages flipped like crazy. And the book stopped one page after going through all the scenes with Bang and Garou using Water Stream rock-smashing fist.

While leaning back faster than the punch’s forward momentum, and the use of Water Stream smashing rock fist, John slid the giant fist off his face like ricochetting a rubber bullet.

But that wasn’t the end of it.

As his head was brought closer to the pavement, his leg rose higher. And at last, the left heel, covered in Haki, smashed right into the crouching Abomination’s windpipe.

The massive heap of muscles staggered backwards for a moment, holding his neck. That attack held a level of power that he hadn’t expected from someone human-sized. It was like a blow from a rhino.

And when he looked back on the ground, a massive scowl made of muscle stared back at him.

The Demon back had come out on instinct.

"Let’s do this for real." John turned to face his opponent properly.

Blood rushed down from the cuts on his forehead and crooked nose. And that was the exact reason why his eyes had changed as well.

The writer John was nowhere in sight.

Since coming to the world of Marvel, this was the first time he had truly felt threatened. This thing had made him bleed, so it was a danger to his life.

That was all the reason he needed to let go all of everything and truly be serious for the first time.

This danger to him had to be neutralized after all.

Before Abomination could regain his balance, John started to prepare for his next move.

So far, he had not found a reason to seriously reinforce his body with Cursed Energy, as he always had the physical edge in encounters. Haki had done enough till now in all the battles he had.

But today, the cursed energy started to flow through him without restraint. John could feel it coursing through him like the raging blood in his veins, increasing his durability.

’My control is still off, but I have enough energy to play around with.’ John wiped the blood from his nose.

Even if he had escaped the punch, it had done decent damage to him on several levels. His head was still ringing, and his lip was definitely busted too. Still, John wasn’t interested in healing himself at this moment.

He didn’t want to heal himself. That blood and sting were a physical reminder that he needed right now. If anything, the taste of blood had sent his body into a different sort of frenzy.

And instead of waiting for his opponent to attack, he moved first.

More like he ran forward. Abomination, too, charged in with a wild sweep. As the wide attack clawed through a building, John slipped under it with the footwork from CQC.

Even if he was still using Water Stream rock smashing fist, there was no point in redirection or deflection. They weren’t the point anymore.

And Abomination’s complete lack of defensive measures, stemming from his sureness in being undamageable, was something that he couldn’t leave unpunished.

His eyes scanned the entire body of his opponent, and in that instant, he found the perfect place where he could cause the most physical pain and psychological damage to this overconfident science project.

John’s hand moved in like a jagged knife and dug into Abomination’s left eye. The pointed tips of his fingers tore through the protective layer and lodged deep inside. With a violent jerk, he ripped out the shot-put-sized organ right out of the socket as it was leaking everywhere like a cracked coconut.

’The technique wasn’t the best.’ John had used piercing fang from Water stream rock smashing fist.

Abomination thrashed on the ground, covering half his face as John clapped away from the omnidirectional desperation-called attacks.

John tried the stabbing motion with his hand a couple more times, not forgetting about the training dummy.

After a moment of reducing the ground into an artwork of dents and craters. Abomination got to his feet as the steam rose from the bloodied eye socket. This time it looked truly enraged.

But that wouldn’t exactly help here. This was Abomination, not Hulk. It had a fixed physical ceiling, and that was enough for John to exploit.

Still, there was one thing that stood out to him.

"Was Abomination always this fast at regeneration?" There was something else at play, but he was beyond caring at this point.

If it could regenerate this fast, it was a good thing for him. It just gave John more time to make this thing pay in full.

Still, he needed to cause more damage. Ripping out an eye was all good, but it wasn’t something that would get him the win.

Even with his current physical stats, there wasn’t anything that Abomination couldn’t regenerate from. The thick-skinned animal could definitely take a beating.

There was still this arrogance in this creature. Most definitely stemming from that thick skin that John couldn’t get past with just punches.

And that’s when it hit him. Yes, this time it was an idea and not stray bullets.

John threw a pebble infused with cursed energy over his head. As Abomination came in with a low right, he placed a hand on the forearm and vaulted over it. While landing a right kick onto the giant’s temple.

As John raised his pointed fingers, Abomination shielded his eyes. But instead of attacking, John switched places with the pebble. High above, he started to pour an extreme amount of cursed energy into his right arm for a start.

The last thing he was worried about right now was running out of cursed energy. Not that he had a limitless supply of it. Just that he was starting to grow used to the way it flowed. And the more he got used to it, the more control he gained over it.

The aggressive reinforcement from earlier had given him a lot of insight. Right now, he wasn’t treating his hand as a normal hand; John was almost treating it as an actual cold weapon.

It was like his fingers were the tip of a blade and his forearm was the handle. Having that image helped him reinforce his arm far better for the idea in his head.

As he dove right at the open back of his opponent, a sharp edge of Haki layered over his reinforced arm, John felt the itching in his head stop.

Now, his mind was getting clear. Terrifyingly clear.

It was like he had hammered every thought out of himself and left only one thing in there.

And feeling that one emotion clearly, Abomination’s head snapped upwards to notice John. But unlike the previous unbothered swings, he swung his huge arm almost in a panic.

But the swing only hit a pebble as John appeared behind Abomination, arm raised high. Haki covered his entire arm as cursed energy reinforced the arm from the bone to the fingertips.

That arm pierced right into the creature’s left knee from behind. And it shot through its kneecap with a sputter of blood and bits of bone.

"GRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!" With a blood-curdling scream, Abomination fell to the ground in almost a fit.

John had already removed his hand and moved back. He had no interest in being crushed by a giant tantrum. Most of his mind was focused on his own hand, or more like the blood he had drawn.

"Now, we are even."

If Abomination’s skin was made to take physical blows, all he had to do was remove the skin altogether.

Getting a feel for the process after the first blow, John started to look for spots he could improve on and how he could make his attacks even sharper.

And this time, John used the sword mode on both his hands. Raising them above his head. He felt the calm, cold breeze wash over his body as he started walking forward.
