Chapter 229: Chapter 223: Great Battle, the Four Souls Reappear
Fu Juemin squinted, gazing from afar at the massive black crate that lay shattered on the platform.
Unsurprisingly, the crate revealed the form of a Demon Toad from Toad Palace. Compared to when he had seen it at the bottom of the Dragon Gate Water Gate, the Demon Toad now looked even more ferocious and hideous!
The thick steel rebar he had thrown like a javelin was now embedded in the Demon Toad’s upper abdomen, piercing straight through its back.
Thick, dark purple Demon Blood oozed from the wound where the rebar had pierced its body. Fu Juemin’s sneak attack had undoubtedly enraged the giant toad. It crouched within the ruined iron cage, its jowls silently inflating as an invisible shockwave spread out. Several men from the Blue-clothed Gang standing nearby on the platform were lifted into the air without warning. Then, before they could even fall—
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
A series of sharp, whistling sounds tore through the air.
A long tongue, moving so fast that even Fu Juemin could barely track its trajectory, lashed out again and again. Several men from the Blue-clothed Gang were abruptly sent flying, as if "voluntarily" flinging themselves into the Demon Toad’s gaping maw.
Immediately after, a muffled and chilling chewing sound followed...
The Blue-clothed Gang members on the platform were aghast, scrambling away in all directions and no longer bothering to shoot at Fu Juemin.
Most of them had no idea what they were secretly transporting. Only now, with the crate shattered, did they realize it was a man-eating Demon Toad!
The fleeing members of the Blue-clothed Gang didn’t get far before volleys of bullets strafed them from all sides.
Amid screams and the thud of falling bodies, agile, heavily armed men in black emerged from the wasteland surrounding the small train station. Each carried a rifle or light machine gun, mowing down everyone they saw and quickly reaping the lives of the Blue-clothed Gang members.
They were the remnants of the Ghost Camp.
Fu Juemin knew that with the Fish Demon’s escape, Toad Palace’s entrapment plan had failed. They would certainly "reclaim" the Demon Toad from the bottom of the Dragon Gate Water Gate.
He had used [Yao Ling] to monitor them for two days. Since he had come, he was, of course, fully prepared!
Seeing the men from the Ghost Camp appear, Fu Juemin remained calm and strode toward the platform.
The sound of gunfire between the Blue-clothed Gang and the Ghost Camp echoed in his ears. Bullets occasionally zipped past his side and feet, but he paid them no mind. His ink-black eyes were fixed on only one thing: the giant toad on the platform.
As he reached the edge of the platform, Fu Juemin’s figure suddenly blurred and vanished.
He reappeared in an instant, right in front of the Demon Toad!
His thick, monstrous right arm chopped down like a blade, cleaving through the air like a massive guillotine aimed straight at the Demon Toad’s head!
CRACK!—
Fu Juemin thought he heard the crisp sound of a skull shattering, but in the next instant, he saw his right hand—the one that had just executed his Purifying Light Saber technique—sink completely into a tough, slick patch of hard hide.
He felt an extremely thick layer of resistance beneath, which made it difficult to channel the rest of his power into the blow.
SWISH!
Caught in the moment between unleashing his old power and gathering new strength, a whistling sound tore through the air. Fu Juemin’s eyes narrowed instantly!
WHAP!—
A loud bang erupted. He was abruptly sent flying over ten meters away. Looking down, he saw that a patch of "Copper Hide" on his abdomen had cracked, faintly revealing a small, purplish bruise underneath.
’It can actually break through my Copper Hide’s Defense?’
After he activated [Copper Hide], his Defense Force was so strong that even ordinary artillery could barely scratch it. And yet, this Demon Toad’s tongue attack had easily broken through.
This Demon Toad had to be at least "Elephant Level" in terms of power!
At this thought, Fu Juemin took a soft breath. The last bit of condescension in his eyes vanished completely, and his expression became focused and serious.
In the center of his chest, which was covered in orange-red light patterns, a bewitching Black Flower quietly bloomed from a crevice!
Countless streams of an aura like living miasma steamed from every pore on Fu Juemin’s body, condensing into a tangible, blazing radiance that coated his already tyrannical and monstrous Demon Body with a brilliant, ostentatious black fringe.
Five Poison Five Phases, maxed out!
With his [Demon Body] in its Three Souls in One Body state and his "Black Flower" fully bloomed, Fu Juemin moved. In an instant, his entire being transformed into a terrifying black meteor hurtling toward the Demon Toad!
BOOM!
The two figures, one large and one small, slammed into each other. The collision of two terrifying forces unleashed a visible shockwave that erupted outward, forming a raging hurricane that instantly scoured away the thin morning mist. The entire platform seemed to shudder violently.
However, that colossal bang was only the beginning.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The massive booms echoed relentlessly. On the small platform, the terrifying sounds of impacts and air bursts were unending. The concussive force turned the air into raging gusts of wind, making the distant tunnel hum and even the dead weeds by the tracks tremble.
WHOOSH—
Fu Juemin thrust out a palm. In that instant, the radiant flames of his Vitality, along with the brute strength of his Demon Body, all converged into that single strike.
The supreme, tyrannical power contained within this palm strike was so immense that even in his Demon Body state with all three Talents active, he felt he could barely control it.
The opening move of this palm strike faintly resembled the Infinite Seal Technique, yet it was different.
It was something Fu Juemin had stumbled upon during a "Flash of Inspiration" in his fight with Yu Zhonggui. Although he understood Mountain Collapse and Sea Overturning and Infinite Mustard Seed from the Dragon Elephant Seal Technique, his mastery of them was not profound.
Crucially, in his Demon Body state, these major Seal Techniques were not entirely compatible with him.
Thus, relying on his own understanding of the four great Seal Techniques, he gathered and compressed all his power to the utmost, then struck out on pure instinct. The result...
...was surprisingly good. Its power far surpassed that of any Seal Technique he could currently execute!
BOOM!
Compared to when he killed Yu Zhonggui, Fu Juemin’s mastery of this move was far more proficient. His Demon Fiend brute force, combined with his Vitality, erupted from his palm, condensing in the air into a nearly tangible, twisted column of energy that slammed into the Demon Toad before him!
CRACKLE—
Where the palm had struck the Demon Toad, a large patch of flesh caved in instantly like rotten mud. The disgusting pustules covering it burst one after another, spattering thick, foul-smelling ichor.
Clearly in pain, the Demon Toad kicked off with its legs, its entire body shooting toward Fu Juemin like a cannonball at an unbelievable speed!
Fu Juemin’s pupils shrank. He had no time to dodge. BOOM! He was struck squarely in the chest.
CRASH!
The two figures, toad and man, merged into a single blur as they crashed deep into the station platform. A tall, rust-covered steel water tower beside the abandoned station building let out a mournful cry, groaning under the strain, and then collapsed with a thunderous boom.
Amidst billowing dust, a terrifying shockwave erupted, sending rubble and twisted steel beams flying in all directions!
Immediately after, a monstrous figure, like a demon or a fiend, strode out from the ruins of the water tower. In one massive, muscle-bound hand, he was dragging one of the Demon Toad’s thick hind legs!
Fu Juemin took a deep breath and grabbed the Demon Toad’s other hind leg with his free hand!
Before it could struggle, his arms tightened like giant pythons. His muscles bulged to their absolute limit as he suddenly unleashed his strength!
He gripped the giant toad, using his own body as an axis, and spun wildly in a full circle! At the very instant the centrifugal force, compounded by the brute strength of his Demon Body, reached its peak—
WHOOSH—!!
The buffalo-sized Demon Toad was swung up and hurled with all his might, like a hammer throw, straight into the air above!
BOOM!!!
The Demon Toad smashed through the already dilapidated station canopy, sending a shower of shattered tiles and splintered wood into the air as it soared into the sky, limbs flailing!
CROAK—
Now airborne, the Demon Toad let out a croak, its cry tinged with something like panic for the first time.
Fu Juemin stood in the center of the wrecked platform. He looked up, his gaze passing through the hole in the canopy to lock coldly onto the massive, falling shadow in the sky. And then...
He took a deep breath!
HSSSS—
It was as if that single breath would suck all the air from the vast platform. As he inhaled, the radiant flames of his Dark Muddy Qi receded into him, and even the surrounding light seemed to be devoured.
The scattered remnants of the Ghost Camp and the Blue-clothed Gang watched from the perimeter, utterly shocked by what they saw—
From the platform floor, from the ruined walls, even from the faint light in the air itself, great clumps of shadow, thick as ink, began to writhe and gather like living things, scrambling to surge into Fu Juemin’s body!
The scene was so bizarre that both sides, who had been exchanging fire, stopped in their tracks and stared, dumbfounded.
As the vast shadows completely enveloped and swallowed the monstrous figure standing on the platform, a pair of bewitching, slightly slitted pupils suddenly opened from within the thick darkness.
"[Shadow Control]!
Four Souls in One Body!"
In the next instant, the innumerable, abyss-like shadows surged upward like a dark tide. From within that black tide, a figure whose silhouette had become slender and agile shot into the sky.
A hand, covered in inky black scales and wreathed in flowing shadows, reached out and struck the falling Demon Toad...
