Chapter 6738: The Ruler of the Immemorial Era

“The Immemorial Cemetery?” Chu Feng thought that those words made perfect sense.

Meanwhile, the Evil God Sword flew not toward the Immemorial Cemetery but the Ancestral Martial Galaxy’s Hidden Dragon Martial Sect.

With the aid of an external force, it breached all obstacles standing in its way and silently entered the Hidden Dragon Martial Sword, infiltrating the forbidden area where Long Xie and the other experts dwelled.

It eventually fell into the hand of the man who proclaimed himself emperor.

“It’s been a while, old friend.”

The man grabbed the Evil God Sword and channeled his immense power into it. The Evil God Sword’s aura flared.

Long Xie frowned. He had a bad feeling about this. He had always thought that the two weapons merely had the same name, since Chu Feng’s Evil God Sword had displayed limited power. It was only now that he realized that this was the notorious Evil God Sword!

“Go and aid him!” The man waved his hand, and the Evil God Sword flew straight into the Ninth Galaxy.

Long Xie was confused. He asked grimly, “What are you planning?”

“I came here simply because I was curious. The show was good. I’m satisfied,” the man replied.

“I’m talking about the Evil God Sword. You threw it into the Ninth Galaxy. Who do you want it to aid?” Long Xie asked.

The man shook his head and replied, “Rein in your curiosity. It’s not doing you any favor.”

He finally stood up as if he was going to leave, but he suddenly turned to Long Xie and asked, “Are you willing to follow me?”

“Our paths don’t converge,” Long Xie replied.

“You’re turning me down?”

The man’s eyes suddenly turned cold. Long Xie and the others felt like they had been plunged into an endless snowstorm. This was not an attack, yet Long Xie and the others were rooted to the spot, unable to do anything about this biting frost.

Long Xie regretted probing into the man’s business.

Fortunately, the man’s gaze swiftly reverted to normal, and coldness receded. “Forget it. I shan’t make things hard for you on your master’s account.”

By the time his voice echoed, he had already vanished as if he had never been here.

Upon his departure, the massive coffin that he had been sitting on could finally open, and the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect’s sectmaster emerged. She had undergone metamorphosis, and her disposition felt vastly different. But she remained subservient to Long Xie and the others.

“Milords, did something happen?” She keenly sensed something wrong with the atmosphere.

“It’s nothing,” Long Xie replied. I can only hope that it’s nothing.

Meanwhile, Chu Xuanyuan continued standing outside the Ninth Galaxy. He had witnessed the Evil God Sword flying into the Hidden Dragon Martial Sect before entering the Ninth Galaxy. He sensed that something was going on, but he remained unfazed as if nothing had happened.

He had no intention of interfering in these matters. He wasn’t even curious about them. The world of cultivation was a colossal place, filled with many unknown experts. He couldn't monopolize all fortuitous encounters.

He knew that there was no way for him to control everything, so he chose to ignore things that didn't concern him. His eyes were focused on Chu Feng. Nothing else mattered to him aside from that.

...

Chu Feng did notice that the red lightning beast had neglected to mention the identity of the Evil God Sword’s master despite having revealed that it had sensed their aura in the Immemorial Cemetery. However, he didn’t ask about it, knowing that there were some things it wouldn’t reveal no matter how curious he was.

“Chu Feng, enter your dantian realm,” the red lightning beast said.

Chu Feng did as he was told and found the red and blue lightning beasts standing before him.

“There was no way you could have destroyed the Evil God Sword in the first place. I only told you to do so to create the impression that you have allowed it to escape, so that it thinks that it owes you a favor. I’d have felt uneasy if you had continued carrying the sword around. I couldn’t reveal too much to you in the past, but I think it’s about time.”

Chu Feng was thrilled to hear that.

The red lightning beast asked, “You have heard about the Fate Primogenitor, right?”

“Yes, I have,” Chu Feng replied.

“Tell me what you have heard,” the blue lightning beast said.

“I heard that the world was ruled by monstrous beasts in the earlier years of the Ancient Era. They are born with innate knowledge about cultivation and understand how to channel natural energies to gain power. Humans and the other races don’t wield this ability, and they lived like livestock under the tyranny of the Ancient Era’s monstrous beasts.

“Many people didn’t want to continue living like that. It was then that a man allowed himself to be caught by the Ancient Era’s monstrous beasts and swiftly earned their trust with his wits. It didn’t take him long to become the Monstrous King’s servant. He closely followed the Monstrous King to observe his cultivation to learn his cultivation skill. From there, he created a cultivation method suited for humans.

“He secretly cultivated and attained power surpassing all the monstrous beasts. Later, he proposed for humans to be on equal standing as the monstrous beasts, but the Monstrous King refused. A huge war followed, and he won the war by defeating the Monstrous King.

“He imparted his cultivation skill to other humans, bestowing upon them power to rival the monstrous beasts. His appearance changed the fate of the human race, which was why people came to address him as Fate Primogenitor,” Chu Feng replied.

“Your story is fake,” the blue lightning beast said.

“Ah? Is it fake?” Chu Feng was taken aback.

In truth, he had taken the story with a grain of salt. The people of the Ancestral Martial Lower Realm didn’t know much about Ordinary Realms, so it seemed unlikely for them to be privy to the secrets of the enigmatic Ancient Era. He figured that it was just a fabricated story.

There were many such folklores around, and they came in multiple versions.

But since the blue lightning beast had told him to share it, Chu Feng thought that there might be a grain of truth in them.

“The story is fake, but Fate Primogenitor did exist. He was an important figure in the earlier years of the Ancient Era, and he was active until the final years of the Ancient Era. I told you to recount the story because I want to share another story with you—the real story regarding him.

“Fate Primogenitor couldn’t have been the creator of cultivation skills and world spiritist techniques because those things have existed since the Immemorial Era. The person who created them also founded the Heavenly Sacred Temple in the Immemorial Era. He was the ruler of the world of cultivation back in the Immemorial Era, and he is our master,” the blue lightning beast revealed.
