Chapter 6710: Ambushing Him

“Very well. Please fight alongside me,” Chu Feng declared.

The Netherworld Sectmembers cheered in frenzied joy.

Chu Feng was moved. No one in their right mind would beg others to risk their life, but the Netherworld Sectmembers were such a group of people. It was not that they were fools; their loyalty simply weighed more heavily than anything else.

“Chu Feng, your grandfather must have been pretty capable. He turned the Netherworld Sectmembers into loyal dogs,” Eggy complimented. Her metaphor was awful, but her words carried grains of truth.

“Indeed. I am benefiting from his halo,” Chu Feng replied with a smile.

This was an army that would fight to the death for his grandfather, and Chu Feng had inherited this legacy.

“The auras shrouding you contain a formation that can further our fighting prowess. I’ll teach you how to construct the formation now,” Chu Feng said.

He began drawing a formation blueprint to illustrate what he intended to do. He didn’t reveal the fact that Jie Tianran had planted a gu in the Netherworld Sectmembers; there was no need to make them indebted to him, since they were already doing more than enough now.

Just then, the mysterious voice echoed from the sacred item, which was on the verge of dissipation, “Chu Feng, I lifted their gu poison and saved their lives for you. You owe me one. Don’t forget about that. Look for me even if I don’t find you, or else you might just lose your life.”

The voice continued to reverberate in space even as the black gate dissipated into thin air.

“That fellow has a big mouth, but I like it.” Eggy revealed a satisfied smile.

Chu Feng was not senile. It was unnecessary for the person in the black gate to remind Chu Feng about his promise. That person merely wanted to let the Netherworld Sectmembers know that Chu Feng had saved their lives.

The Netherworld Sectmembers were stunned. All of them turned to Chu Feng.

“What happened, young master?” many asked.

Baili Xukong looked at the black bracelets on his wrists and murmured, “Did Jie Tianran plant a gu poison on the bracelets to kill us?”

“Come to think about it, the backlash from the black bracelets seems to be gone.”

“You’re right!”

Most of the Netherworld Sectmembers realized that the terrifying energy that seeped from the black bracelets into their souls had vanished. The upper echelons, such as Baili Xukong, Cang Li, and the others, had already noticed that, but...

“The backlash didn’t vanish because of the sacred item’s awakening or our Netherworld Embryos’ strengthening? You were the one who saved us, young master? What did you agree to for our sake?” Cang Li anxiously asked.

“I agreed to do two things for that person, though the details remain unknown. I didn’t have to pay a price for it,” Chu Feng replied.

“Impossible! Young master, please tell us the truth,” the Netherworld Sectmembers urged.

They weren’t concerned about the identity of the person behind the voice. They were all worried about the price Chu Feng had to pay to save them.

“I didn’t lie to you. Aren’t I alive and kicking right now? It’ll be fine once I fulfill two requests for that person,” Chu Feng replied with a smile.

“Young master, who’s the person speaking to us from the sacred item? Is it our ancestor or...” Ting Yun asked. He turned his attention toward the entity inside the sacred item when he saw that Chu Feng refused to speak the truth.

“I don’t know who that person is, but my guess is the Netherworld God,” Chu Feng replied.

“Lord Netherworld God? Does Lord Netherworld God really exist?”

The crowd looked shocked and excited at the same time. They had always viewed the Netherworld God as a legend and a symbol, but they also thought that the Netherworld God no longer existed in this world.

It would be good news if the Netherworld God were still around. This meant that the Netherworld Sect had plenty of room to grow!

“I don’t know if that person is truly Lord Netherworld God, but he has asked me to fulfill two requests for him in the Ninth Galaxy,” Chu Feng replied.

That further stoked the Netherworld Sectmembers.

“We can talk more about that in the future. Let’s focus on the present right now. Jie Tianran will be arriving soon,” Chu Feng said as he glanced at the observation formation.

God’s Era was moving at an alarming speed. Despite having to cross galaxies, it wouldn’t be long before it arrived here.

Chu Feng quickly drew up a formation blueprint. It was complicated, but the Netherworld Sectmembers swiftly grasped its crux after he broke it down for them. Then, he proceeded to distribute work.

Chu Feng played a vital role in this formation despite having no blood-red aura, as he was the only one who could take in everyone’s blood-red aura.

So, the Netherworld Sectmembers began constructing the formation.

Blood-red auras flared from the Netherworld Sectmembers, but instead of converging into an individual to empower him, they interweaved to connect all Netherworld Sectmembers into one entity.

The sheer number of Netherworld Sectmembers present easily spanned the size of a smaller realm when gathered. As they channeled the formation, their blood-red auras blazed fervently as they swiftly expanded until they resembled a mini sun.

At the same time, the congregation of blood-red auras began growing hair, a nose, and eyes, transforming into a blurry, humongous head that emanated an imposing air. It was rather eerie to see a single head floating in the middle of space.

“What a powerful formation! I can’t even imagine how powerful it can become if we construct it in its entirety. We might even raise our cultivation!”

The Netherworld Sectmembers were excited. Even though this was their first time coming into contact with this formation, they could also see its ingenuity. In fact, the formation they had just constructed was limited by their own capabilities; the formation itself was capable of much more.

The complete formation would have formed a terrifying congregation of power capable of even stomping out stars.

“Come, Jie Tianran. So what if you have grasped God’s Era? We’ll show you what our Netherworld Sect is capable of!”

Many Netherworld Sectmembers were filled with confidence.

The formation only raised their fighting prowess within the rank seven Heavenly God level—it didn’t further raise their maximum cultivation level to rank eight Heavenly God level—but they believed that it granted them the power to stand face-to-face against God’s Era.

“The formation might have bolstered our strength, but the odds are still stacked against us. Even if Jie Tianran is unable to truly wield God’s Era’s power, his strength is still nothing to scoff at. We should avoid a frontal confrontation with him.”

Chu Feng’s words quelled the Netherworld Sectmembers’ desire to go head-to-head against Jie Tianran.

“What should we do, young master?” Baili Xukong asked.

“We’ll ambush him,” Chu Feng replied.

“Ambush him?”

The crowd was confused. This formation was even larger than that of a realm; how could they spring an ambush on anyone like that? Chu Feng had to elaborate on his plan before the crowd nodded in realization.

“I’ll hide inside the formation. Jie Tianran shouldn’t be able to find me. Don’t reveal your relationship with me just yet. Pretend that you have massacred the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion to become the sole powerhouse of the world of cultivation.

“If Jie Tianran isn’t confident of defeating you, he will resort to controlling you via the gu poison. You can feign obedience to make him lower his guard before ambushing him,” Chu Feng said.
