Chapter 6382: Inside the Coffin
“Sure.” Chu Feng accepted the deal before observing the tombstone once more.
Jie Mubai knew there were too many clues on the tombstone that it wouldn’t have been easy to decipher, so he didn’t rush Chu Feng. Instead, he observed the tombstone alongside him.
Moments later, Chu Feng began frowning. The more he observed, the tighter his frown became.
“Are you unable to decipher the tombstone?” Jie Mubai asked.
“I can decipher it, but it won’t be easy to breach it. I’ll require your help,” Chu Feng said.
“It’s a cooperation. Feel free to ask anything of me,” Jie Mubai replied.
“I’ll need these materials. Do you have them?”
Chu Feng conjured many materials with a wave of his sleeves—some were for constructing formations, whereas some were for other purposes. They were materials commonly used by world spiritists, but Chu Feng needed high-quality ones.
Without any hesitation, Jie Mubai took out all the required materials.
“Elder, you have all of them?” Chu Feng was surprised.
“The Seven Realms Sacred Mansion is the strongest world spiritist power in the world of cultivation, after all. We have no lack of materials,” Jie Mubai replied.
“Things might get a little dangerous later while breaching the formation. We’ll have to prepare a teleportation formation. My strength is limited, so I’ll leave it to you, elder.” Chu Feng conjured a formation blueprint with a wave of his sleeves.
“That’s quite an interesting teleportation formation.” Jie Mubai was mesmerized.
Constructing teleportation formations was easy for a world spiritist of his caliber, but Chu Feng’s formation blueprint was far more ingenious than any method he knew about. It was slightly more complicated, but the effects were much stronger.
“Elder, I know that it’s easy for you to construct a teleportation formation, but the danger we may encounter here cannot be underestimated. I implore you to construct the teleportation formation using the method I have entrusted to you,” Chu Feng said.
“Don’t worry. Leave it to me.”
Jie Mubai got to work. It would take him some time to construct a teleportation formation using Chu Feng’s blueprint.
Meanwhile, Chu Feng continued observing the tombstone.
When Jie Mubai was done constructing the teleportation formation, he took out two talisman papers and handed one to Chu Feng. By activating the talisman paper, Chu Feng could enter the teleportation formation right away and be transported to a safe location.
“That’s fast. Elder, you can leave the rest to me.”
Chu Feng formed a hand seal. Spirit power gushed out of his body and swiftly formed a massive formation.
Jie Mubai’s eyes glowed with satisfaction.
Chu Feng hadn’t been idling while he was constructing the teleportation formation—he, too, was constructing a formation, just that he did it within his body.
A formation constructed inside one’s body tended to be weaker, but Chu Feng’s formation perfectly resonated with the tombstone. It felt like a key fitting into a lock.
The brilliant light glowing from the tombstone told Jie Mubai that Chu Feng was on the right path. This formation had to be constructed inside one’s body. Doing it outside would instead result in failure.
Hu!
As the two formations fused, the peculiar wind appeared once more. It was stronger than before, almost cloaking the entire world in a sandstorm.
Only the area where Chu Feng and Jie Mubai were at remained safe.
“Is it a purging? I doubt anyone else in this realm can survive that,” Jie Mubai remarked.
This sandstorm was different from the trial they had encountered when they first entered this realm. Not only was it stronger, but it was also far more difficult to breach. It was practically a death sentence to anyone else who was still in this realm.
At the same time, a coffin rose from the ground beneath the tombstone.
This coffin was extremely eerie. It was covered in a sinister gray aura that occasionally formed gazing eyes and let out bizarre howls.
“Don’t get close to it, Chu Feng,” Jie Mubai warned as he retreated to a distance away. He sensed that the gray aura would proactively attack anything within range.
Chu Feng changed his hand seal and released his spirit power.
Without any hesitation, the howling gray aura surged toward Chu Feng’s spirit power and gnawed at it. However, Chu Feng’s spirit power immediately emanated a golden light that caused the gray aura to scream in agony and retreat to the coffin.
Chu Feng quickly constructed another formation to seal off the gray aura and the coffin.
“His observation is extremely thorough!” Jie Mubai was startled.
Chu Feng must have learned the method to deal with the gray aura from the tombstone. Yet, despite being a Heavenly Dragon World Spiritist, Jie Mubai was unable to decipher that even though he had been studying the tombstone as well.
“Elder, give me a spirit power enhancing pill!” Chu Feng shouted.
Jie Mubai knew that it would take a lot of spirit power to deal with a powerful formation, so he reached into his Cosmos Sack and tossed many potent spirit power pills over.
But what Chu Feng did next shocked Jie Mubai.
Chu Feng stowed them into his Cosmos Sack without eating a single one. Sensing Jie Mubai’s questioning gaze, he explained, “Just in case.”
Jie Mubai didn’t harp on the matter. “Don’t get distracted.”
The gray aura remained extremely dangerous in his eyes despite knowing that Chu Feng had likely deciphered the method to deal with it. The slightest carelessness could spell not just Chu Feng’s doom but his as well.
He was already clutching onto the talisman paper of the teleportation formation Chu Feng had told him to construct.
Soon, he realized his worry was unfounded.
When Chu Feng changed his hand seal once more, his formation began to devour the eerie gray aura. It didn’t take long for the gray aura to be completely devoured, and the coffin finally revealed its true form.
There was nothing special about the coffin aside from its antiquated appearance.
Chu Feng stepped forward and opened the coffin. More gray aura immediately spurted out. However, this gray aura was different from the one outside. Not only did it not feel dangerous, but it was also emanating a faint light.
“Eggy, it’s origin energies,” Chu Feng said as he opened the gate to his World Spirit Space.
A powerful suction force pulled all the origin energies through the gate.
Jie Mubai stared intently at the opened coffin to see what was inside. However, the origin energies, despite being harmless, obstructed his view. It was only after Eggy absorbed all the origin energies that he was able to see what was in the coffin.
The coffin was empty.
“Is it empty?” Jie Mubai asked.
“Seems so,” Chu Feng replied.
“Is there... nothing else?” Jie Mubai examined the tombstone once more.
Chu Feng had already breached the tombstone, so the rewards should be lying within the coffin. Yet, there was nothing in the coffin aside from the origin energies.
“There’s only origin energies?” Jie Mubai asked again.
“Seems so,” Chu Feng replied.
“Then... why didn’t you leave some for me? I’m a world spiritist too. I have world spirits,” Jie Mubai replied.
Chu Feng stared at him. “Why should I give you any origin energies? You didn’t contribute.”
“What did you say?” Jie Mubai stared at Chu Feng with widened eyes, wondering if he had misheard.
“You said you wouldn’t take anything if you didn’t contribute enough. Your words, not mine,” Chu Feng replied.
