Martial Dao: Peace by Force
Chapter 257 - 170: I Am a Sword Immortal! First Slaying a Qi Refiner
Chapter 257: Chapter 170: I Am a Sword Immortal! First Slaying a Qi Refiner
And a Blood Corpse refined from a Qi Refiner could even use the Magic Techniques it possessed in life.
The top Cultivators of the Puppet Yin Sect were often accompanied by several powerful Blood Corpses, making it impossible for ordinary people to even get near them.
The Blood Corpse before them had been at least a Martial Artist in the Refining Viscera Realm when it was alive... It possessed immense strength and a hide so tough that ordinary blades felt like little more than a scratch.
The ground seemed to shatter, cracks spreading out in all directions from the sole of the Blood Corpse’s foot.
"Get back!" Feng Jiuchen barked. He pushed off explosively with his feet, shooting forward like an arrow loosed from its bow.
His Step Technique was exceptionally unique.
With every step that landed on the ground, a faint golden Talisman would materialize out of thin air under the sole of his foot.
The Talisman flashed and vanished, like a ripple on the water’s surface.
With every step Feng Jiuchen took, his speed increased. The Talismans layered one upon another, growing brighter and denser until his figure had all but transformed into a streak of light.
Those Talismans weren’t merely left by his steps. They were Arrays, drawn in an instant with Qi for ink and the earth for paper.
Each Talisman corresponded to the ’Zhen’ trigram.
Zhen represents thunder, and where there is thunder, there is speed.
The more Talismans that were stacked, the faster he became. At his ultimate speed, he was practically teleporting.
Feng Jiuchen’s figure weaved and dodged between the Blood Corpse’s attacks, his movements incredibly nimble.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The Blood Corpse’s iron fists smashed into the ground repeatedly, each blow leaving a deep crater the size of a washbasin. Shattered stone flew and earth churned.
Suddenly, a fist scraped past Feng Jiuchen’s back, the force of the blow tearing a rip in his robes.
If Feng Jiuchen hadn’t been so quick to react, he would have been pounded into paste.
"The Puppet Yin Sect’s Magic Techniques rely on the quantity and quality of their Puppets," Feng Jiuchen called out as he dodged, his voice laced with mockery. "This Blood Corpse of yours isn’t badly refined, but it’s a shame you only have one. What Core disciple of the Puppet Yin Sect doesn’t have several Puppets at their side? You must be a real failure, huh? What’s more, the Puppet Yin Sect’s puppet-controlling arts are all about using Yin Qi as threads to manipulate the Puppets. But when you were commanding your Blood Corpse just now, your methods had the hallmarks of Asura Hall’s Blood Evil Celestial Net!"
Feng Jiuchen suddenly scoffed. "You’re using the Blood Evil Celestial Net to strengthen your Blood Corpse! That’s not a Puppet Yin Sect Magic Technique; it’s a Secret Technique from Asura Hall! So you learned Asura Hall’s ways but still hang around the Puppet Yin Sect? What a pathetic hybrid... You’re a traitor to your own master and ancestors!"
The green-robed man’s pupils contracted, and his expression turned foul.
Feng Jiuchen had hit upon his secret.
He was indeed a disciple of the Puppet Yin Sect, but three years ago, he had secretly defected to Asura Hall.
Asura Hall had taught him the Blood Evil Celestial Net Secret Technique to strengthen himself. The condition was that he would become a spy, infiltrating the Puppet Yin Sect to gather intelligence and steal their Cultivation Techniques.
But to this day, he had yet to gain Asura Hall’s true acceptance.
This was also related to the sudden collapse of the Puppet Yin Sect, which had caused him, the spy, to lose his greatest value.
What Asura Hall had given him was only the most rudimentary, beginner-level part of the Blood Evil Celestial Net. They had never taught him the true Core Magic Technique.
Despite considering himself exceptionally talented, he had never been able to advance his Cultivation to a higher Realm.
The Puppet Yin Sect wouldn’t teach him their truly powerful Magic Techniques, and Asura Hall wouldn’t give him theirs.
He had been stuck in this awkward, in-between position for two years, forced to hide in these deep mountain forests and rely on refining Blood Corpses just to maintain his Cultivation.
This was his deepest sore spot.
"You’re courting death!"
The green-robed man flew into a complete rage. He formed a seal with his hands, the Qi and blood in his body surging wildly.
The green-robed man shot into the air. As if sensing its master’s fury, the giant Blood Corpse beneath him threw its head back with a long roar and slammed its fists into the ground. The earth shattered, sending fragments of rock flying like shrapnel.
It then charged out to attack, along with a second Blood Corpse.
Feng Jiuchen’s gaze sharpened. Instead of retreating, he advanced.
He took seven consecutive steps, and seven golden Qimen Seals lit up in sequence under his feet, like seven bright lamps.
With the seven seals layered, his speed reached an incredible level. In an instant, his body left an afterimage as his true self circled around to the Blood Corpse’s side.
"Qimen Shocking Rune Technique—Leidong!"
Feng Jiuchen shouted, forming a seal. A ball of pale golden Qi Force, crackling with the faint sound of thunder, coalesced in his palm.
He slammed his palm into the knee joint of the nearest Blood Corpse.
CRACK!
The Blood Corpse’s knee caved in from the force of his palm. Its body lurched, and it dropped to one knee.
The green-robed man’s expression flickered. He was about to command the Blood Corpse to counter-attack when he suddenly sensed a presence behind him...
When he looked back, Feng Jiuchen was gone.
Qimen Seal: Xun Rune Technique!
Using the Qimen Seal’s Escape Technique, Feng Jiuchen appeared behind the green-robed man like a phantom.
The green-robed man’s pupils shrank. He instinctively tried to dodge, but it was too late.
Feng Jiuchen’s knife-hand strike sliced through the air, landing viciously on the back of his neck.
THWACK!
Like a swatted fly, the green-robed man was knocked from a tree branch. He tumbled several times in mid-air before crashing heavily against a large tree trunk.
The tree trunk snapped on impact. His body bounced once more before tumbling to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Without their master’s control, the huge Blood Corpses froze in place like statues.
The green-robed man struggled to his feet, a trickle of blood leaking from the corner of his mouth. His eyes were filled with shock and rage, but more than that, humiliation.
His gaze suddenly fell upon Wan Ze, who was standing nearby.
The burly man had been standing in the same spot since the fight began, completely motionless, as if scared stiff.
A savage sneer crept across the green-robed man’s lips.
’So I can’t kill Feng Jiuchen. You think I can’t kill a useless bystander like you?’
He shot off the ground, a bolt of green lightning pouncing toward Wan Ze. He channeled all his remaining Qi into his right hand, a faint, dark-red glow appearing on his palm.
This was a technique from the Blood Evil Celestial Net. Even at the Beginner Level, a single palm strike was enough to make an ordinary person’s flesh rot and their bones crumble.
Feng Jiuchen’s expression changed. He wanted to rush over to help, but he was too far away. He’d never make it in time.
"Look out—"
The words had barely left his lips.
Wan Ze’s expression remained placid as he watched the green-robed man lunge at him. His eyes held no fear, no panic, not even a flicker of emotion.
He just stood there, slowly raising his right hand.
Suddenly.
It was as if the sound of a sword being unsheathed echoed through the world.
A sword appeared out of thin air in his hand.
And with it, an eruption of Sword Intent!
This Sword Intent was so sharp it felt as if it could pierce the very heavens. It carried an unreasonable, domineering power, as if everything in existence had no choice but to be sundered before it!
