Chapter 122: Chapter 101: My Senior Brother Can Break Your Leg, and So Can I

At an intersection, a sedan was startled when an SUV shot out from the side. The driver instinctively jerked the wheel, sending the car careening toward them.

Wan Ze moved in a flash, decisively wrapping an arm around Miss Ling’s waist and pulling her into an open space to the side.

Fortunately, the driver slammed on the brakes just in time, narrowly avoiding a crash.

The driver, still shaken, glanced at them. Seeing they were unharmed, he shoved his door open, a mix of terror and rage, and started cursing at the offending SUV. "Fuck! Are your eyes in your ass?! What kind of shitty driving is that? If you want to die, don’t drag me down with you!"

The black SUV, however, remained parked silently by the roadside, completely still.

Its windows were heavily tinted, obscuring the view inside, and it offered no reaction to the driver’s tirade.

Miss Ling’s heart hammered in her chest. Still shaken from the near-miss, she stared at the SUV, a sense of unease creeping over her.

Her hand gripping Wan Ze’s arm tightened as she whispered, "Wan Ze, do you think... could they be..."

"Doesn’t look like it." Wan Ze was also watching the SUV. He slowly shook his head.

From several dozen meters away and through the dark-tinted window, he could faintly make out the silhouette of a person in the back seat. That face... it looked vaguely familiar.

...

The terrified driver was still yelling relentlessly. He even walked up and tried to kick the SUV’s tires.

Just then, the SUV’s driver-side door was thrown open.

A burly man climbed out. His face was devoid of expression. Without even glancing at the shouting driver, he reached out a massive hand, effortlessly clamped it around the man’s neck, and lifted him into the air as if he were a baby chick.

The driver’s curses died in his throat as he struggled in pure terror.

"Get lost!" With a flick of his wrist, the burly man tossed the driver several meters away like a bag of trash.

The driver hit the ground and scrambled back to his feet. Not daring to spare another glance, he dove back into his car. The engine let out a roar, and he sped off, fleeing for his life.

All that remained was the SUV and the burly bodyguard standing beside it like a sentinel.

Just then, the SUV’s rear window slowly descended.

It revealed a face carrying the lazy weariness of a full meal, yet unable to conceal its sinister glint.

It was Tong Run.

The very same Tong Run whose leg had been broken by Zhai Yu, who was then taken to Dragon Eagle before being ransomed back.

Tong Run narrowed his eyes. His gaze swept over Wan Ze, then flickered to the still-shaken Miss Ling beside him. Upon confirming Wan Ze was by himself, the corner of his mouth twitched into a smirk.

"Well, well. It’s a small world, isn’t it?"

"Remember me, young Wan Ze? That ’special care’ you and your senior brother showed me back in the Holy City... I haven’t dared to forget it for a single second!"

He ground his teeth softly, his eyes thick with hatred. "...And where’s that dear senior brother of yours, Zhai Jia? Isn’t he with you?"

That day in the Holy City, Zhai Yu had broken his leg in public and had him dragged off like a dead dog. It wasn’t just a physical injury; he had been utterly humiliated in front of his family and his entire social circle. It was the greatest shame of his life.

He’d been suppressing a vile rage ever since, constantly scheming to recruit experts and exact brutal revenge on the Zhai Family brothers.

He never imagined fate would deliver an opportunity to his doorstep so quickly.

Neither Zhai Yu nor Zhai Jia was here. It was just this damned junior brother, and he even had a gorgeous girl with him.

’Son of a bitch...’

"If you want to find him, call him yourself." Wan Ze was completely unfazed. He patted Miss Ling’s arm, gesturing for her to calm down, and whispered, "Go wait for me in the car."

Miss Ling gave him a worried glance. Seeing the menacing figures across from them, she bit her lip but still did as he said, slowly backing away toward her car.

Tong Run paid Miss Ling’s departure no mind; his attention was fixed solely on Wan Ze. He continued, "Since fate brought us together, don’t be in such a rush to leave. I’m the kind of person who always settles my scores. That day, you hit my men and humiliated me, which means you crossed me. We were supposed to settle that account... but hey, I’m in a good mood today. Just call Zhai Jia right now. Tell him to go to the old machinery factory warehouse in the west district and wait for me. Alone. You do that, and what you owe me... we’ll call it even. How about it?"

"What I owe you?" Wan Ze raised an eyebrow, finding the notion ridiculous.

"That’s right!" Tong Run saw nothing wrong with his statement and said nonchalantly, "Young people have to pay the price for their actions. In the Holy City, I let it slide out of respect for Dragon Eagle. But this is An City—"

But before he could finish, Wan Ze suddenly looked up and asked in an odd tone, "You think that just because my senior brother isn’t here today, and I’m all alone... you’ve got me dead to rights?"

Tong Run was initially annoyed at being interrupted, then he froze. As if he’d just heard the most ridiculous thing in the world, he burst out laughing. "Haha! That’s right! I’ve got you right where I want you! What about it? You got a problem with that?"

The bodyguard beside him took a coordinated half-step forward, muscles bulging, radiating an oppressive aura.

Wan Ze let out a dry, self-deprecating laugh.

"I don’t know what trash heap you dug that confidence out of."

His voice suddenly turned ice-cold.

"But—"

Before the word had even finished echoing, Wan Ze’s figure vanished from where he stood.

He shot forward like a cannonball.

The concrete beneath his feet groaned under the force.

Tong Run’s brow furrowed in disgust. ’This kid is really courting death, overestimating his own strength to a laughable degree.’

’The situation is clear at a glance; my side has the absolute advantage.’

’Besides, in the eyes of Eldest Young Master Tong, a fledgling punk like Wan Ze who got lucky and learned a few moves is nothing more than an ant I can crush whenever I please.’
