Chapter 381 - Unsuccessful Disciples
Chapter 381 - Unsuccessful Disciples.
The majestic sun in the sky was slowly disappearing.
Slowly, lanterns were lit up in the surrounding mountains, giving the already dark village more light.
More lanterns were lit up, less time the disciples had.
On top of the mountains.
Spectators were enjoying the show so far, and we're excited to see how it will end.
Around the island.
Animals of different breeds turned their heads towards the mountains, where bright light appeared.
Some of the animals had menacing-looking red eyes.
They were Mutated Beasts!
''Grrr…'' They growled menacingly and had thoughts of going to the mountains, but instantly their bodies were covered in chilly pressure, which caused them to lower their heads.
It was like there was someone at the mountain that was like Apex Predator to them.
Back in the village.
The disciples looked at the sky and were confident that it would take ten minutes for the sun to disappear completely.
After that, the time is up.
Surprisingly, none of the disciples managed to get their hands on the silver ring!
The disciples of every color started getting anxious, and they found out that the reason they weren't part of Chosen Ones was that their talent wasn't at that level.
They decided that the best way to get their hands on the silver ring was by teaming up!
In a different part of the village.
Five figures with identical blue robes strolled in the empty streets.
They decided to team up and then decide with rock paper scissors that they would keep the ring.
But, they all have different schemes on their minds.
There is no way they will gamble their future on rock paper scissors.
Few of them were friends, but they were ready to abandon that friendship for that silver ring.
The silver ring can change their lives, and they are ready to abandon even their family members.
One of the disciples had a paper in his hands—the notes of lower-ranked disciples that tell the location of residences of Chosen Ones.
Soon, they stopped in front of a simple-looking building, which seemed dark without any signs of living.
''Someone called Kurogami Ichiro is living here.'' The disciple said and folded the paper before stuffing it inside his robes.
''Everyone, remember.'' One of the disciples opened his mouth and attracted their attention, ''Rock, paper, and scissors will decide who keeps it, no hard feeling, right?''
''Right.'' Other disciples nodded, but a tinge of greed was on their eyes.
Same with the disciple who just spoke. The coldness was visible in his eyes as he grabbed a metallic hammer from his robes.
Other disciples also grabbed their own weapons.
''Wakey wakey!'' The disciple with a hammer destroyed the wooden front door into pieces and arrogantly entered with a grin.
Other disciples followed behind him with identical grins, and the first thing they noticed was a beautiful black-haired girl who was sleeping and handsome youth who was glaring at them murderously.
''Give the ring, and we will leave you two alone.'' The disciple with the hammer said with a smirk.
Ichiro shifted his body slightly and moved Azura's body gently so that she won't wake up.
Once her body was covered in a thin blanket, Ichiro turned around to face the disciples and whispered, ''Fine… Let's go outside.''
''Hmph, fine.'' The disciple tapped his thigh with a hammer and replied with a snort.
Ichiro followed behind the disciples and left the building, which no longer had a door.
They walked several hundred meters in the empty streets, and soon they reached an empty alleyway.
''Now, give me a ring.'' After entering the alleyway, they demanded their weapons to strike Ichiro down if he didn't give up.
''Sure… Take it!'' Ichiro took off the ring and threw it airborne.
All the disciples instantly stretched their hands greedily and gritted their teeth as their hands got closer.
But then…
*SMACK*
*POW*
Ichiro suddenly appeared before them and did a terrifying sidekick, which sent one of the disciples flying straight towards the brick wall.
*CRASH!*
The disciple who was sent flying already had broken ribs from the kick, but once his body hit the wall, his back started cracking, and conscious started slipping away.
The four remaining disciples looked shocked and took a step back by instinct.
Ichiro grabbed the ring from the air and put it back on his ring finger.
''You bastard!'' The disciple with the hammer screamed and did an overhand swing.
Ichiro's palm struck the incoming hammer and successfully blocked it!
The disciple looked shocked, but then Ichiro's kick landed on his kneecap.
''Aarghhh!'' The disciple fell down on the ground with a cry of agony, and the remaining three disciples rushed simultaneously.
*SWOOSH!*
Ichiro effortlessly dodged the attacks and did an inhumanly quick low kick, which caused a terrifying sound of flesh getting smacked by a heavy object.
*SMACK!*
The kicked disciple couldn't keep standing and face planted on the ground with blood dripping down from his broken nose and mouth.
''A-Argh!'' The disciple with the hammer forced himself to stand, and once he managed to do so, he threw the hammer!
*SWOOSH*
Ichiro tilted his head to the side and felt the hammer brushing past his cheek, but his right arm was stretched backward, and he used his right hand to grab the hammer from its shaft.
The disciple paled and saw Ichiro throwing the hammer back at him!
*SMACK!*
The hammer struck the disciple in the forehead and sent him flying backward before crashing painfully on the garbage can.
Two disciples remained, and they didn't seem to have any intention of continuing.
They looked at each other and started running away!
They left the alleyway from the other side and disappeared into the empty streets.
Ichiro wiped his hands and looked towards the sky, where the sun was disappearing slowly.
'Five minutes…' He thought and left the alleyway, leaving three unconscious disciples behind.
Once he left.
Three white-robed teachers appeared and took the unconscious disciples away.
Soon, Ichiro entered his temporary residence and finally saw the sun disappearing from the sky.
The time is up.
