Martial Arts Overlord

Chapter 1418: Cloud Brocade City, Princess Su Rui!

One of the ten Venerables ‘Ghost Spirit Saber’ Duan Yuntian…

Upon hearing Yuan Yi’s words, Luo Feng was stirred.

Duan Yuntian indeed had a connection with him. Not only was he from the Canglan Dynasty, but he also hailed from the Purple Sun School in the Flowing Cloud Region, making him a fellow scholar from three decades earlier.

As they talked, they ascended the mountain path towards the summit.

Caravans moved back and forth on the mountain path, accompanied by small groups of martial artists. Most had cultivation above the Spiritual Rotation Realm, with few in the Meridian Wheel Realm.

In the sky, the sound of wind-breaking was continuous, as shadows flew by from time to time, either soaring through the air, walking on swords, or riding terrifying demon beast mounts, swiftly passing by. The fierce currents created tore the clouds like tattered cotton, causing them to drift aimlessly.

Luo Feng cast a glance at the sky, his eyes slightly narrowing.

In just a few moments, he sensed more than a dozen martial artists in the True Yuan Realm passing by. Three among them had auras surpassing his own, likely late-stage True Yuan Realm martial artists. Particularly, there was an elderly man walking on a sword, who revealed no aura on the surface, yet in Luo Feng’s soul power perception, the man resembled a fathomless ocean. His cultivation was even more terrifying than that of Chixiao, undoubtedly a Yuan Sea Realm expert, and not just any ordinary Yuan Sea Realm expert.

“No wonder Out Cloud Country ranks just below the three major dynasties!” Luo Feng marveled inwardly. Even in the Imperial City of the Canglan Dynasty, Azure Sky City, martial artists in the True Yuan Realm were rare, let alone those with Great Ability in the Yuan Sea Realm.

Moments later, the caravan reached the peak, and Luo Feng finally saw Cloud Brocade City.

Cloud Brocade City was situated in the center of a massive plateau at the summit. Its grandeur surpassed even the Imperial City of the Dali Dynasty, Melt Fire City. The city spanned eighty to ninety miles, with outer city walls exceeding a hundred meters in height. From there, one could vaguely see a gigantic inner city wall towering into the clouds, roughly estimated to be over five hundred meters tall.

At the wide city gates, sparkle-armored guards stood, inspecting the caravan’s goods. After Manager Li paid the entrance fee, everyone successfully entered the city.

After traversing several wide streets, the caravan stopped in front of a courtyard.

“We’ve arrived.”

Yuan Yi gently exhaled.

“Finally arrived.”

“Quickly, unload the cargo. We shall go to Purple Rain Pavilion. I’ll treat! After a month of eating dry food every day, my mouth feels like it’s about to fade out a bird.”

The caravan members cheered and immediately got busy, starting to unload the goods and attend to the injured.

Seizing the chance while everyone was busily engaged, Luo Feng approached Yuan Yi, handing her a silken pouch, “Yuan Yi, please take this.”

“What is this…” Yuan Yi asked.

“Just a little something.” Luo Feng smiled softly.

Yuan Yi’s curiosity gleamed as she opened the pouch and her bright eyes suddenly froze, “This is…”

In her hand was a demon core, the size of a baby’s fist, with blood-like patterns on its surface. Inside, alternating lights flickered, emanating strong demon qi.

The demon cores of the most powerful demon beasts that Yuan Yi had seen did not possess demon qi so intense. She knew this demon core’s owner’s strength likely surpassed the True Yuan Realm. It was invaluable, and she promptly set it aside, returning it to Luo Feng:

“Luo Feng, this is too valuable; I can’t accept it.”

Luo Feng shook his head, saying with a smile, “It’s not much to me. If you consider me a friend, please accept it. Sell this demon core to compensate Manager Li’s losses and distribute the remaining funds to the injured.”

What Luo Feng said was indeed true. Such a demon core was a priceless treasure to Yuan Yi and others, but to him, it was easily obtainable.

Traversing the Red Blood Wilderness, Luo Feng possessed between twenty and thirty such demon cores.

Of course, he decided to give Yuan Yi the demon core not because he disregarded such a core, but because he thought Yuan Yi and the shopkeeper were decent people. Since he could assist, why shouldn’t he?

Yuan Yi pursed her red lips, finally accepting the demon core with a smile, “Then I won’t be polite. After all, I already owe you such a huge favor; I don’t mind owing you a bit more.”

Luo Feng grinned. What he admired was Yuan Yi’s carefree nature, unconcerned about trivial matters. Glancing around, he remarked:

“I shall take my leave now.”

“You’re leaving already?” Yuan Yi’s brows furrowed slightly.

“Yes, my friend has arrived.”

Yuan Yi suggested, “You’re unfamiliar with Cloud Brocade City since it’s your first time here. Where’s your friend? Let me guide you.”

“No need, I know the way.” Luo Feng shook his head. The caravan had just arrived, and as the leader, Yuan Yi couldn’t possibly leave. However, he wasn’t lying when he said he knew the way, as through the connection of Xuelian’s origin blood essence, he could sense the location of his acquaintance.

Yuan Yi was indeed unable to leave, smiled, and said:

“Alright then, until we meet again. Take this spirit mirror with you. Should you need any assistance, feel free to contact me or visit Cloud Rock City, where our Scarlet Flame Adventure Team is stationed. Many things in this world are accomplished by great figures, but there are also many that only we small characters can manage.”

“Certainly.”

Luo Feng nodded, accepting the spirit mirror Yuan Yi extended. She was undoubtedly right; not all matters can be resolved by those with immense strength.

After bidding farewell to Yuan Yi, Luo Feng followed the aura of Xuelian towards the inner city of Cloud Brocade City.

Compared to the outer city, the inner city streets were even broader, yet surprisingly less crowded. From the attire and bearing, the people seemed to be either disciples of prominent families or hidden martial arts experts.

While walking, Luo Feng observed the scenery on both sides of the street.

Out Cloud Country is truly famed for its music and dance as a dynasty. Numerous musical instrument shops lined the streets, adorned with beautiful women fluttering back and forth, picturesque like a painting. Some young women played instruments by the window, with melodious tunes merging into the wind, entering the ears, lifting the mind with delight, and causing Luo Feng to feel a gentle sense of enchantment.

“Luo Feng!”

A petite figure brushed past Luo Feng, suddenly paused, and turned back, looking with a voice full of surprise.

Luo Feng found the voice familiar and turned to look, his eyes lighting up, “Su Rui!”

“Haha, I thought I was mistaken. It truly is you.”

The lively girl had sparkling eyes focused on Luo Feng, her eyes curving joyfully, releasing a cascade of silvery laughter. Gems on her body jingled with a series of crisp clinking sounds.

The lively girl was none other than Su Rui.

After the New Dragon Ranking Tournament, Luo Feng had not seen her again, unexpectedly meeting here.

After half a year, Su Rui remained unchanged, with an outfit slightly leaning towards a tomboyish style, exuding a lively innocence untainted by worldly affairs. As always, she had an affinity for jewels, adorned with an array of dazzling gemstones, glimmering under the sunlight. Rather than appearing gaudy, she was even more exquisite and charming.
