Martial Arts Overlord
Chapter 1371: The Banquet, Genuine Talent!
Chapter 1371: Chapter 1368: The Banquet, Genuine Talent!
After taking stock of the treasures in the Corpse Ghost Taoist’s storage ring, Luo Feng put away the Washing Dragon Ring, took a Spirit Pill to restore True Yuan, cleared his mind of distractions, and began cultivating.
In his mind, he repeatedly recalled the Four Symbols Ultimate Saber, the intent realm of the first three saber techniques, and the perfected state of the three techniques when he was in the Central Sky Region. Luo Feng’s understanding of saber intent continued to advance.
Time spun on rapidly like the stars in the sky, and an entire night passed in the blink of an eye.
The next morning, Luo Feng opened his eyes and slowly exhaled a breath.
“Comprehending Martial Arts truly isn’t simple, and can’t be achieved in one day or night.”
With the first three saber techniques of the Four Symbols Ultimate Saber perfected, the seed for the fourth saber technique gradually formed in Luo Feng’s heart. However, the most critical step remained out of reach, as though an invisible membrane barred it from manifesting fully into a technique.
Yet, Luo Feng did not become discouraged by this. It is said that some experts, in order to perfect the intent realm of their self-created Martial Arts, would sit in meditation on the edge of a cliff or in mid-air for decades. Compared to them, the little difficulty he was facing was nothing at all.
He was confident that by continuing to understand the intent realm of the three saber techniques, he would soon break through that invisible barrier.
Standing up, Luo Feng said to Xuelian, “Xuelian, get ready. We’re going to visit Jiang Fengfeng.”
“Yes.”
Xuelian nodded, walked out of the training ground, and quickly returned with a crystal basin, respectfully saying to Luo Feng, “Master, please freshen up.”
Luo Feng cast a surprised glance at Xuelian but didn’t say anything, washed himself up, and then walked with Xuelian towards Jiang Fengfeng’s courtyard.
This time, having narrowly escaped the Blood Shadow Demon General, it may seem like Luo Feng deserved the most credit, but in fact, without Jiang Fengfeng and Su Zhuyun threatening the Blood Shadow Demon General, no matter what means he used, it would have been in vain.
Jiang Fengfeng and Su Zhuyun’s courtyard was situated in the northwest corner, and by the time Luo Feng and Blood Fiend got there, Yue Haitang had already arrived.
After consuming the Thousand-year-old Blood Ganoderma sent by the Red Celestial Sect, Jiang Fengfeng had not yet awakened from her coma. However, her previously pale face had regained a touch of color, and her breathing was no longer as weak as before.
“The Thousand-year-old Blood Ganoderma is indeed a treasure for restoring blood energy. Fengfeng should awaken today. However, to completely recover, she must rest for two more days.”
Su Zhuyun fed the blood-red liquid, ground from the Thousand-year-old Blood Ganoderma, to Jiang Fengfeng, then said to Luo Feng.
Luo Feng breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, “Then once she recovers, we’ll set off again. We’ve saved nearly ten days’ worth of time getting from Flame Gold City to here, so there’s no rush.”
“Alright.”
Su Zhuyun nodded with gratitude.
Seeing no serious issues with Jiang Fengfeng, Luo Feng then got up to take his leave, walking with Xuelian back to their own courtyard.
Just as they were nearing their courtyard, they heard a knocking sound from afar. A middle-aged guard in flame-red armor stood outside the courtyard gate.
“Is Young Master Luo Feng here?”
“Looking for me?”
Luo Feng was somewhat surprised and walked over, “What’s the matter?”
The middle-aged guard turned around, and upon seeing Luo Feng, a faint trace of amazement flickered in his gaze.
He had already known of Luo Feng’s identity and had heard bits about the legendary talent emerging in the Canglang Dynasty, but he didn’t expect him to be so young, and furthermore, to have become friends with Crown Prince Chixiao.
“This is an invitation from the Crown Prince for you.”
The middle-aged guard handed an invitation to Luo Feng.
“What is this?”
The middle-aged guard respectfully replied, “This evening, the Crown Prince will hold a grand banquet in the palace, claiming to have extremely important matters to announce. The Crown Prince has personally instructed that Young Master Luo must attend the banquet, for it concerns you greatly.”
“Concerns me? What could it be?”
Luo Feng’s brows arched. He assumed it involved the matter of the Sacred Land selection, but the words of the middle-aged guard left him puzzled.
“I don’t know that either.” The middle-aged guard shook his head.
Luo Feng accepted the invitation and nodded, “I will be there on time.”
This grand event would certainly present an opportunity to meet many experts. Chixiao’s words also piqued his curiosity about what matter could be of such significance to him.
“Then I will take my leave now.”
The middle-aged guard clasped his fists in salute and departed humbly. Although he was also a Martial Artist of the True Yuan Realm, he was already in his fifties, far behind Luo Feng. Such respect had less to do with age and more to do with reverence for a stronger warrior.
“I wonder what it will be…”
Luo Feng exhaled, placing the invitation into his storage ring. Without further contemplation, he entered the courtyard and continued his comprehension of the Four Symbols Ultimate Saber.
The setting sun slanted across the sky, and noise erupted within the palace, buzzing with liveliness.
“It seems the banquet is about to begin.”
Hearing the distant clamor, Luo Feng awakened from his training, rose, changed into a new set of clothes, and, holding the invitation, left the courtyard.
He did not bring Xuelian along; after all, she was part of the Blood Demon clan, and taking her to such an event could lead to complications if discovered.
Just as he exited the courtyard, Luo Feng looked up to see Yue Haitang and Su Zhuyun approaching.
Su Zhuyun wore a flowing white robe, her hair streaming like a waterfall, a silver sword hung at her waist, she moved with an ethereal grace like a fairy descended from the clouds.
Beside her, Yue Haitang donned a suit of azure robes, her hair tied back, her demeanor carried an inexplicable allure. Coupled with her delicate features, an invisible aura seemed to surround her, making it impossible for anyone to ignore her presence.
Both of them held invitations in their hands.
“So you received invitations as well,” Luo Feng said as he approached.
“Yes. It seems Chixiao will announce matters concerning the Sacred Land selection, and we can gather some information.” Yue Haitang said.
The three of them headed together towards the venue of the banquet.
Midway there, Yue Haitang suddenly said to Luo Feng, “Luo Feng, you should be mentally prepared for this banquet. Such gatherings often have Martial Artists sparring for entertainment, and I’ve heard that your position as the first among our Canglang Dynasty’s young generation has already spread. You might face challenges.”
Luo Feng nodded, “I know.”
Su Zhuyun laughed, “I think it’s them who should be worried.”
Hearing this, a smile crept upon Yue Haitang’s lips. Aside from Chixiao, who had been training in the Sacred Land since young, she couldn’t see anyone from the young generation of the Dali Dynasty being a threat to Luo Feng.
Luo Feng asked, “Has Jiang Fengfeng awakened?”
Su Zhuyun nodded with a smile, “If she weren’t too weak to walk on her own, she would likely have come to the banquet.”
Luo Feng chuckled softly, indeed typical behavior of Jiang Fengfeng.
Golden light pierced through the cloud gaps, illuminating the Imperial City. The vast city tonight bustled with joy, festively adorned with lanterns and streamers, where impressive young talents strolled together along the paths.
“Wow, so many people, it seems all young talents from Melt Fire City came tonight. The Crown Prince’s return from the Free and Unfettered Sect, what message did he bring back to create such a grand occasion?”
“We’ll find out soon. Besides, have you heard? The number one person in the Canglang Dynasty, Luo Feng, is supposedly in the Imperial City and will attend the banquet.”
“Luo Feng? I’ve heard a bit about him. The title of the number one person in the Canglang Dynasty is quite significant; I just wonder how much true skill he has…”
