Chapter 754: Chapter 378: The Decaying Cultivation Immortality Realm (Part 2)

When it came to grudges, the Shadow Alliance topped his list. For the past year, he had been hunting down and assassinating their members with low Cultivation.

Thanks to the unique abilities of his Black Death Soul Power, he could effortlessly kill Qi Cultivation cultivators while he was still at the Innate Realm. Moreover, his methods and Cultivation Technique resembled those of a Shadow Alliance assassin.

Later, he expanded his targets beyond the Shadow Alliance, sparing no wicked Cultivators he happened to encounter.

As he killed more and more people, including those in higher realms, his Cultivation progressed at an astonishing rate.

In just one year, he not only broke through to the Qi Cultivation Realm but had already reached its late stage!

He had been on his way to Li City when he heard the commotion nearby.

Just then, Lin Feng’s eyes lit up as he watched the two men in black robes struggling against a pair of Magic Cyan Dragons, steadily being forced back.

’A perfect opportunity!’

The thought had barely formed when his body dissolved into a cloud of black mist, shooting toward them from behind at incredible speed!

With their Magical Artifacts pinned by the two Magic Cyan Dragons, the two Shadow Alliance assassins were being suppressed and forced to retreat, but they still immediately sensed something approaching.

This momentary distraction was all it took. Under the elder’s control, one of the Magic Cyan Dragons whipped its tail, slapping both of them and sending them flying.

The elder also spotted the rapidly approaching black mist and instantly grew wary.

Before the two from the Shadow Alliance could even hit the ground, the black mist reached them, split in two, and merged into their bodies.

In that instant, they felt a ghastly Cold Yin Qi that threatened to freeze their limbs and seal their Cultivation.

One of them seemed to recognize it and cried out in terror, "Black Death Qi! You’re Black Skull!!"

"Damn it!!" The other man was also terrified.

Black Skull held the top spot on the Shadow Alliance’s own bounty list and was known for wielding the Black Death Qi, a product of the Alliance’s supreme Secret Technique.

It was said that any opponent in the same Realm was guaranteed to die.

They never imagined that Black Skull, Lin Changfeng, who had been missing for years, would suddenly appear here!

Crying out in alarm, they both unleashed their full Power, trying to expel the Black Death that had invaded their bodies.

Just as they began to force the Black Death out, two daggers—Magical Artifacts—pierced through their necks.

Lin Feng’s form partially materialized. With a detached expression, he swung the daggers and decapitated them both.

’My Power is still lacking. They almost forced out the Black Death Soul Power.’ Lin Feng frowned as he landed. ’Pitting Qi Cultivation against Foundation Establishment is a real stretch.’

’I only succeeded because it was a sneak attack and they were distracted. Otherwise, at my current Cultivation, the Black Death Soul Power might not have even been able to get near them. After all, the gap between our Cultivation Realms is undeniable.’

Upon their deaths, he absorbed all the Resentful Qi and Soul Power from their bodies, converting it into his own Power!

Neither of them had bound a Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal. In fact, the vast majority of Shadow Alliance assassins hadn’t.

This was because upon entering the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, they would be detected. They would either be struck dead by lightning on the spot or be captured and imprisoned. Therefore, none of them were willing to bind it.

Lin Feng didn’t pause. He dissolved back into a black mist and went after the other assassins, who had already started to flee.

The Clan Leader had already gathered the Li Clan Members, and they all watched Lin Feng with caution.

However, Lin Feng’s Cultivation was limited. By the time he had killed five more of the assassins, the other three had already escaped.

Lin Feng had no intention of staying and continued his pursuit of the three Shadow Alliance Cultivators.

"Clan Leader, what on earth was that?" one of the Li Clan Members asked, his voice laced with lingering fear.

"Someone just said ’Black Skull.’ Who is that person?"

"Black Skull!" The Clan Leader’s expression was grim. "He was an assassin from the Shadow Alliance, and their most promising one at that. His Cultivation was said to be only at the Foundation Establishment Realm, yet he managed to kill even a Golden Core Cultivator and never once failed a mission. He was also one of the top ten bounty targets in the Cultivation Immortality Realm!"

"He’s that strong!" someone exclaimed. "He could kill even a Golden Core Cultivator?"

"Didn’t that person look very young? To reach the Foundation Establishment Realm at such a young age is truly incredible!"

However, the Clan Leader shook his head. "I’m not sure. Almost no one on the outside has seen what he looks like. But that person’s Cultivation wasn’t at the Foundation Establishment Realm. It was Qi Cultivation."

At this, everyone was stunned.

The Clan Leader’s expression turned serious as he looked at the family members and announced gravely:

"Pay him no mind. Our location has been discovered, which means the Spirit Vein is no longer safe. Everyone, go back and pack. You all have your Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal Space, so take everything you can. I will retrieve the Spirit Vein! Everyone must enter their Spirit Seal within one day. We can no longer remain in the Cultivation Immortality Realm!"

Everyone immediately understood the gravity of the situation and sprang into action.

SCHLICK!

The sound of a blade sinking into flesh echoed as Lin Feng slowly withdrew his dagger.

He looked down at the lifeless corpse on the ground. As he felt its Power seep into him and his Cultivation rise another notch, a faint smile touched his lips.

’Killing members of the Shadow Alliance is just more satisfying.’

Due to their profession, members of the Shadow Alliance were naturally steeped in Evil Qi and Resentful Qi, which were far more beneficial for his advancement than the energy from killing common villains.

He wiped his dagger clean on the corpse’s clothes, then glanced in the two directions the others had fled.

’They’ve vanished without a trace,’ Lin Feng noted with some regret.

It was impossible to catch them now, and he had no intention of trying any further. He turned and continued on his way to Li City.

Nowadays, the Teleportation Arrays in almost every County Town had been shut down, so he had no choice but to travel the slow way.

As Lin Feng continued on his journey, the two Shadow Alliance assassins who had escaped with their lives didn’t stop, but immediately rushed to a hidden stronghold.

The Shadow Alliance had strongholds throughout the Cultivation Immortality Realm; they were just so well hidden that they hadn’t been discovered.

Roughly one hour later, the two men returned to the stronghold and met with the Steward in charge of the area.

When the stronghold’s Steward saw that only two had returned and heard their report about Black Skull’s appearance, he immediately questioned them for details.

But upon hearing that the attacker was a young man, the Steward immediately sent a message back to headquarters, including a description of Lin Feng’s appearance.

「Shadow Alliance Headquarters.」

Flame Prison City was no longer the bustling, prosperous place it had been a year ago.

Without its Spirit Vein, Flame Prison City had lost its unique advantage for Cultivation. Its only remaining asset was its powerful Defense, which shielded it from the effects of the outside environment.

Deep within the headquarters, the Master of Shadows stood in a subterranean chamber, staring absently at the spot where the Stone Stele had once been.

The disappearance of the Stone Stele infuriated him far more than the theft of the Spirit Vein. They had torn the place apart searching for it but found nothing. He had even suspected that people from the Infinite Daoist Sect had stolen it.

This was because the Infinite Daoist Sect was the only power in the Cultivation Immortality Realm capable of creating Array-Breaking Orders.

Furthermore, Array-Breaking Orders of Tier Four and higher were not sold to the public. Only the Infinite Daoist Sect possessed something that could bypass a Tier Five Array.

Because of this, he had even gone to confront them personally, but they simply claimed to have no idea what he was talking about.

And so, in his fury, he had ordered the Shadow Alliance to assassinate members of the Five Great Immortal Sects and to destroy and steal Spirit Veins, plunging the entire Cultivation Immortality Realm into chaos.

To this day, he still couldn’t figure out how the Stone Stele had been taken.

He had once unleashed his full Cultivation in an attempt to pull it out but couldn’t budge it in the slightest. It also wouldn’t respond to his attempts to place it in his Storage Pouch.

And yet, just like that, it was gone.

"Master!"

Just then, a dark figure appeared eerily behind the Master of Shadows.

"What is it?" the Master of Shadows asked in a low voice, his thoughts pulled back to the present.

"We just received a report from one of the strongholds. Our people encountered Black Skull. He killed eight of our men," the dark figure replied.

Hearing the name "Black Skull," the Master of Shadows’s already foul mood darkened further. "Bring him to me!"

But the dark figure added, "This time is a little different. The agent sent back a description of the individual. The one who used the Black Death Qi was a young man, not Black Skull himself. I suspect he might be Black Skull’s disciple."

For the first time, a flicker of surprise crossed the Master of Shadows’s face.

’That guy actually found someone who meets the requirements?’ The Master of Shadows fell into deep thought. After a moment, he said, "Where is he? I’ll go myself."

The dark figure was stunned.

"Master, there is no need for you to go personally. Allow me to—"

The Master of Shadows cut him off with a wave of his hand. "Say no more. I don’t care if he is Black Skull’s disciple or not. As long as he can cultivate the Black Death Secret Manual, he meets my requirements!"

"Yes!"

And so, the dark figure reported Lin Feng’s last known location, only to find that the Master had already vanished.
