Chapter 740: Chapter 372: The Previous Master’s Hidden Means

"What will happen if I open it?" Cheng Zongyang asked again, his brow furrowed.

The Ring Spirit’s tone grew even colder. "Based on the current information, there are three possibilities.

First, nothing happens. The two realms connect smoothly without any repercussions.

Second, opening it could cause the rules of the two realms to change. After all, I don’t know if my former master left any other contingency plans in the Martial Arts Realm. As for the third..."

The Ring Spirit’s voice paused here. "This is the one outcome I wish to avoid most: exposing the locations of the Martial Arts Realm and the Realm of Ten Thousand Races! It would attract that terrifying existence, and perhaps even expose me!"

Hearing the third possibility, Cheng Zongyang’s expression changed abruptly, and a powerful sense of unease washed over him. The Flying Cloud Shuttle, which had been in motion, suddenly came to a halt, hovering silently in mid-air.

"Are you sure that’s a possibility?" Cheng Zongyang’s fists clenched involuntarily.

"I can’t rule it out. But you must agree on one point: for my former master to have reached such a level of power, developed two worlds, controlled everything, and had the help of others like me... do you think he was of average intelligence? If it were you, wouldn’t you have contingency plans in place? Now, I need to verify a possibility."

There was a grave note in the Ring Spirit’s words.

"What is it?" Cheng Zongyang asked impatiently.

"Find the other four Transmission Channels in the Martial Arts Realm. I need to inspect them to know if they’re truly related," the Ring Spirit said.

Cheng Zongyang didn’t hesitate for a moment. "Where are they?" he asked.

"You already know the first one—the channel in Area Two. We can ignore that one. Based on my senses, the second is in the North Sea, the third is in the territory of the Thirteen Royal Families, the fourth is in the West Nether Sea, and the fifth is not on the ground, but... in the sky!"

As the Ring Spirit revealed the final location, Cheng Zongyang involuntarily glanced toward the sky, his eyes filled with confusion.

"In the sky?" Cheng Zongyang frowned.

"That’s where I sense it, yes," the Ring Spirit explained. "The other locations are also based on my senses, but we’ll still have to search for them. I don’t have control over the Martial Arts Realm, after all. I’m just using the channel in the Realm of Ten Thousand Races to sense their general locations."

Cheng Zongyang nodded slowly. "Understood."

’I never would have thought that just trying to set up a Transmission Channel would uncover so many hidden problems.’

Instead of returning to the city, he first headed for the nearest territory of the Thirteen Royal Families.

But the area was vast, and he couldn’t just wander around aimlessly like a chicken with its head cut off. He had to rely on the Ring Spirit’s full cooperation.

The Ring Spirit, in turn, continuously tracked the approximate location by sensing it through the channel.

Over the next five days, Cheng Zongyang constantly adjusted his course under the Ring Spirit’s guidance. He finally arrived at the border region where Xiliang, the Jin Kingdom, and the Thirteen Royal Families met.

When he reached the actual location, he was unexpectedly surprised.

He hadn’t expected the Transmission Channel to be at the junction of three territories. And after scanning with his Divine Sense, he discovered that this junction point was located inside the crater of a volcano.

His Divine Sense spread out, and he immediately discovered that the volcano was just a disguise, not a real one.

But from the environment and its location, he knew the Ring Spirit’s suspicions were correct.

’Why would a normal Transmission Channel be placed inside a volcano? What would be the need for such camouflage and concealment?’

After Cheng Zongyang entered and inspected it, the Ring Spirit quickly recorded the information.

After marking the location, they continued the search for the third Teleportation Array, the one in the North Sea region.

Using the same method, with the Ring Spirit constantly sensing and adjusting, it took them about seven days to find the correct location.

Finally, they discovered the third Transmission Channel deep on the seabed. This location was far deeper than the ten-thousand-meter depths of the East Sea Abyss.

If not for his adaptive Talent, even with his Foundation Establishment Cultivation, he would have had a hard time withstanding the water pressure at a depth of over thirteen thousand meters.

This channel wasn’t disguised; it was just a large sacrificial altar. It was simply covered by seabed silt. Who would ever have found this place without the Ring Spirit’s senses?

The Ring Spirit continued to record the data.

Next was the fourth Array, located in the West Nether Sea.

The West Nether Sea region began farther east of the East Sea.

But conditions in the West Nether Sea were far more treacherous than in the East Sea.

Its waters were black, and it was wracked by nearly constant violent storms. As a result, far fewer people ventured to the West Nether Sea to explore than to the East Sea.

But there were always some daredevils who would go to the West Nether Sea, only to never be seen again.

Thus, it was also called the Nether Sea—the sea of the Netherworld, meant to ferry people to the Underworld.

Cheng Zongyang’s search in the West Nether Sea was much more difficult than his search in the North Sea.

This was because the interference in the West Nether Sea was too great. The environment was more complex, with storms, chaotic magnetic fields, and other unusual phenomena, making it difficult to explore with Divine Sense. In the process, he was also surprised to discover that magnetic fields had some effect on Divine Sense.

This made his search exceptionally arduous.

But finally, after half a month of constant adjustments, he found the fourth Transmission Channel on a lone island in the heart of a permanent storm zone.

What he hadn’t expected was that this large, isolated island was actually a gargantuan beast, right in the middle of this stretch of sea. It looked like a giant deep-sea turtle that had been turned to stone.

After observing it, the Ring Spirit discovered that the giant turtle had been imprisoned here by the Power of Laws, turned into a stone island while still alive.

And the Transmission Channel was located in the core of this island.

After the Ring Spirit marked its location, Cheng Zongyang set off for the final Transmission Channel.
