Chapter 675: Chapter 342: Passage Opened; Divine Temple Exploration

After about ten minutes, Meiyan’s voice called out from inside. Cheng Zongyang heard it and rushed in to check.

There, he saw Meiyan holding a thumb-sized, watery-blue pearl. She approached Cheng Zongyang, proudly presenting it as if it were a priceless treasure.

Suppressing his excitement, Cheng Zongyang took the Water Spirit Pearl. He then pulled out two bottles of Red Blood Pills for Meiyan and said with a smile, "Here, your reward."

Meiyan’s little eyes instantly lit up. She snatched the bottles with both paws, turned around, and immediately began to open one and eat.

Meanwhile, Cheng Zongyang appraised the Water Spirit Pearl in his hand.

---

[Water Spirit Pearl]

Description: ... (Similar to the description of the Earth Spirit Pearl from Chapter 282; a couple hundred characters of text omitted.)

Grade: Earth Treasure (Mature)

Function: Endless Life (Within a Five Elements Spiritual Vein Array)

Points: 5,000,000

---

"Holy fuck!!" Cheng Zongyang was floored.

’This very first one is already Earth Treasure Level??’

’It’s the same Grade as the Wood Spirit Pearl I found before! That means it’s already mature.’

’Could it have absorbed a Water Elemental Monster Origin that was over a thousand years old from somewhere nearby?’

That was the only explanation for why the Spirit Pearl had already matured. But he didn’t dare linger. Suppressing his excitement, he stored it away and called out to Meiyan, "Time to go."

Back in front of the Flying Cloud Shuttle, Meiyan showed extreme reluctance the moment she saw it. Her body went rigid, filled with the same terror as a cat that hates water being forced into a bath.

Cheng Zongyang understood Meiyan’s reaction, but there were unknown dangers here. He couldn’t afford to waste time; he had to leave immediately and head for the next Divine Temple.

Just as Cheng Zongyang was about to pull out a Red Blood Pill to coax her on, Meiyan’s fur suddenly bristled. She stared fixedly at the Celestial Pool, her entire body coiled into a battle-ready stance!

A chill ran down Cheng Zongyang’s spine. He immediately sensed something was amiss. Meiyan’s instincts were always sharp; a reaction like this meant she had definitely detected danger again.

Cheng Zongyang couldn’t sense anything unusual himself, but he trusted Meiyan’s instincts. He quickly jumped onto the Flying Cloud Shuttle and shouted at her, "Get on!!"

This time, his tone was firm and urgent, leaving no room for argument!

Meiyan hesitated for a moment, clearly aware of the gravity of the situation. In the end, she leaped onto the Flying Cloud Shuttle and flattened herself against the deck, her body trembling slightly.

Without a second thought, Cheng Zongyang piloted the Flying Cloud Shuttle, shooting up into the sky and rapidly away from the Celestial Pool, wondering what could possibly be hiding within its depths.

Cheng Zongyang only breathed a sigh of relief once the Flying Cloud Shuttle reached a safe altitude. He glanced back toward the Celestial Pool, his mind filled with questions.

He didn’t know what was in the Celestial Pool, but anything that could provoke such a reaction from Meiyan was certainly no ordinary being. ’Perhaps it’s an Exotic Beast of the Four-Star Level or higher,’ he mused, ’or maybe even a powerful Demon Beast.’

The next moment, the Flying Cloud Shuttle turned into a streak of light and headed west.

The very moment Cheng Zongyang departed, ripples began to slowly spread across the once-calm surface of the water. ℴ

Soon, a pair of enormous black horns slowly broke the surface, followed by the massive head of a serpentine creature.

The creature’s head was immense, its black scales glinting with a cold light. Between its horns, a small figure hovered in the air, resembling a white phantom. This ghostly figure radiated a bizarre, bone-chilling aura that was enough to make one’s blood run cold.

It raised its head, gazing silently in the direction Cheng Zongyang had disappeared. Its eyes seemed full of confusion and contemplation, as if it were pondering some vital question.

After the Flying Cloud Shuttle vanished from sight, the ghostly figure wavered slightly. It then slowly lowered its head, its gaze turning toward the Divine Temple. Its eyes now held a look of bewilderment and thought, as if it had misplaced something.

A moment later, the ghostly figure swayed once more.

The creature beneath it then slowly sank back into the water, and the surface returned to a placid calm.
