Chapter 671: Chapter 341: Setting the Rules

A moment later, Wuwei Zi, the Sect Leader of the Infinite Daoist Sect and leader of the group, scanned the surrounding crowd. His gaze finally settled on those twelve individuals, and he began to speak slowly:

"Over the past month, we have devoted all our efforts to exploring the Secret Realm. This was not to monopolize it, but to understand the changes that have taken place inside. The Realm of Ten Thousand Races is certainly dangerous now, and it is not a place that just anyone may enter."

Wuwei Zi’s voice was calm and powerful, echoing over Ice City. His gaze was profound, as if it could see through everything. He knew in his heart that the day’s affairs had to be handled with the utmost care.

’Starting a war or using force to suppress them is definitely not the right approach.’

He continued to speak, observing the crowd’s reactions. "Currently, the only ones who can enter are Qi Cultivation Practitioners. It’s useless for the likes of us to squabble over it; everything will depend on the abilities of the Qi Cultivation Disciples. Opportunities are plentiful, but to ensure the stability of the Cultivation Immortality Realm, we will be imposing certain restrictions."

Upon hearing this, the crowd collectively breathed a small sigh of relief, but they also understood that the screening process to follow would be incredibly difficult.

For the sake of the immortal opportunities within the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, everyone present was willing to risk it all.

However, they knew that the cultivation of the Qi Cultivation Disciples from their own factions was somewhat lacking compared to the Sect Disciples. Ultimately, success would depend on the strength of each individual group.

Some of the weaker families and factions began to worry if their own disciples could gain an advantage in the competition inside the Realm of Ten Thousand Races.

Most people, however, were more concerned about what the restrictions entailed. Before anyone could ask, Wuwei Zi had already continued speaking:

"Seeing how persistent you are, and understanding your desire to pursue immortal opportunities, we have decided on a method after many days of deliberation. In principle, we can consider granting entry qualifications, but it will require passing a strict screening. As for the restriction, in accordance with the rules of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, we will be limiting the Cultivation Immortality Resources that can be brought from the Cultivation Immortality Realm to be used as sacrifices!"

As soon as he said this, an uproar swept through the crowd. Many began to put their heads together and whisper, their discussions growing louder and more chaotic.

The representatives from some of the families and factions wore grave expressions.

People’s faces showed a mixture of expressions in response to Wuwei Zi’s words—anticipation, worry, and excitement.

The atmosphere in Ice City’s square was both heated and tense. Snowflakes continued to drift down, as if bearing witness to this momentous negotiation.

A few Loose Cultivators gathered, discussing the matter in low voices. They were filled with both anticipation and a sense of unease.

One of the Loose Cultivators, his eyes glinting with excitement, chuckled. "I don’t have anything from the outside to bring in anyway. I barely have any Spirit Stones, so this restriction means nothing to me!"

But a Loose Cultivator next to him said worriedly, "Don’t celebrate too early. They’re restricting resources being brought in, but there’s still the screening. We Loose Cultivators don’t have any powerful factions backing us. Do you really think we can pass?"

Likewise, another Loose Cultivator, hearing someone express such indifference, sneered coldly:

"How shortsighted! Just because you have nothing now doesn’t mean you’ll have nothing in the future! What if one day you need a Foundation Establishment Pill and have the resources from the outside to sacrifice for it, but you can’t because of this restriction? I hope you’ll still be saying it ’means nothing’ then!"

Rebutted by two people in a row, the young Loose Cultivator’s face went pale, and he was left speechless.

The others were also filled with uncertainty about the upcoming screening process. After all, without the backing of a powerful faction, they had no way to negotiate terms or call in favors. Yet, they were unwilling to give up this rare opportunity.

The Martial Artists, on the other hand, appeared relatively calm. The restrictions were aimed at Qi Cultivation Practitioners and posed little threat to them.

Ordinary people stood on the outskirts of the crowd, watching the lively scene with hearts full of curiosity and longing.

They knew they probably had no chance of entering the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, but it wasn’t impossible. The Realm of Ten Thousand Races was also a chance for them to reverse their fortunes!

But some ordinary people were more clear-headed. They knew it would be difficult for them to seize any opportunities from the hands of Cultivators and Martial Artists, so they resigned themselves to just watching the spectacle.

Cheng Zongyang, standing by the window of his inn, naturally heard Wuwei Zi’s words.

He, however, paid the restriction no mind.

’The Realm of Ten Thousand Races doesn’t have many resources to begin with. If people can’t bring things in from the outside, I doubt many will be able to make sacrifices to trade for precious Elixirs, Cultivation Techniques, or the like.’

After hearing Wuwei Zi’s words, the twelve representatives began to confer. They gathered in a circle, talking in low voices.

They were well aware of the situation inside the Realm of Ten Thousand Races before the changes—it had hardly any precious or abundant Cultivation Immortality Resources.

Their entire plan was to bring resources in to trade for opportunities, so for the Five Great Immortal Sects to restrict that very thing was, naturally, a source of great dissatisfaction.

The Sect Leaders of the Five Great Immortal Sects were not in a hurry. Restricting the inflow of resources was a move they had been forced to make.

’If every family, every faction, every Commerce Association, and the vast number of Loose Cultivators all brought resources in, how could the Cultivation Immortality Realm possibly continue to develop?’

’That wouldn’t be using the Secret Realm to enrich the Cultivation Immortality Realm; it would be using the Cultivation Immortality Realm’s resources to enrich the Realm of Ten Thousand Races. The end result would be the decline of the Cultivation Immortality Realm!’

The Sect Leader of the Celestial Sword Sect watched the twelve representatives confer using their Divine Sense and sent a voice transmission to the other four leaders. "They will definitely oppose this. Besides, we and the ancestors also need the opportunities that come from those sacrifices."

Wuwei Zi, the Sect Leader of the Infinite Daoist Sect, frowned slightly and replied via transmission, "I understand that, of course. But if we don’t set this restriction, the only path forward for the Cultivation Immortality Realm is decline. It would cause even greater problems for the future development of our Sects. We have to think long-term. We must make them understand this as well."
