Not that she had actually said she was going to force Charles Prescott out of the company.

But Charles Prescott was a petty man.

He was acting as if he’d already been kicked out!

Now he was here, acting like a complete scoundrel.

Charles Prescott said, "So, you’re really going to get rid of me? It was Nathan’s father who wanted me to stay at the Fawcett Group. After you divorced Nathan, you got involved with his brother, and now you’re even bringing that brother into the company."

"..."

He was treating Nathan Fawcett and Ethan Linden as two completely different people.

Anne Sutton had no choice but to play along. "You said it yourself, Ethan Linden is Nathan Fawcett’s brother. So why don’t you go ask Nathan and see if he objects to Ethan joining the company?"

Charles Prescott: "..."

He had to admit, Anne Sutton’s question had stumped him.

He remembered telling Nathan Fawcett that Anne Sutton and Ethan Linden were together, and Nathan hadn’t seemed to care at all.

Charles Prescott just couldn’t understand it.

Anne Sutton faced him and said, "Charles Prescott, if I were you, I wouldn’t be wasting my time on this nonsense. Harassing me won’t do you any good. You’d be better off focusing on your work! If I see you working hard, maybe you can stay at the Fawcett Group. But if you keep pestering me, even if I wasn’t planning on it before, I’ll make sure you’re thrown out of the company!"

Charles Prescott looked at Anne Sutton, at a loss for words.

He couldn’t stand the sight of Ethan Linden and had been incredibly rude to him.

But now that Anne Sutton held the highest executive authority at the Fawcett Group, he didn’t dare act out of line in front of her.

He looked at Anne Sutton and asked, "Will you marry Ethan Linden?"

"Of course." Anne glanced at Nathan Fawcett and said, "We are getting married, so you can give up now. If you think sucking up to me will improve your position in the Fawcett Group, you’re sorely mistaken. You’re talented, so you’re still useful to the company. But if you think you can play on our past relationship, I’ll want nothing more than to destroy you."

Professionally, he was still of some use to the Fawcett Group.

Personally, there was nothing but hatred between him and Anne Sutton.

Charles Prescott glanced at Nathan Fawcett and Ian, who were sitting off to the side, then looked at his own son. He stood up. "We’re leaving."

Anne Sutton remained seated, watching Charles Prescott. ’He’s finally leaving,’ she thought.

Charles Prescott stood up, but a moment later, he walked back. He glanced at Anne Sutton and said, "Whenever you decide to forgive me, you know where to find me."

Nathan Fawcett: "..."

He sat to the side, watching Charles Prescott’s earnest expression...

’This man... is he trying to seduce Anne?’

After Charles Prescott walked out, Nathan Fawcett looked at Anne Sutton.

Seeing him staring at her, Anne Sutton asked, "What are you looking at?"

"What was that about?" Nathan Fawcett said. "I’m getting the sudden urge to punch him."

"..." Anne Sutton said, "You know what he’s like. He’d sacrifice anything to get his hands on the Fawcett Group. He was willing to sacrifice my child back then... and now, he’s willing to sacrifice himself to get back in my good graces."

"How interesting," Nathan Fawcett remarked.

"It is, isn’t it?" Anne rested her chin on her hand and looked at Nathan Fawcett. "Why didn’t you tell him who you are?"

Nathan Fawcett replied, "If I just came out and told him I’m Nathan Fawcett, what do you think his reaction would be?"

"..." Anne Sutton said, "He’s only acting so brazenly in front of you because he doesn’t know you’re Nathan Fawcett. You should find a chance to tell him."

"Let him figure it out on his own," Nathan Fawcett said. "Watching him like this is rather amusing."

"You’re so childish," Anne Sutton said.

’Playing these kinds of games with Charles Prescott!’

The whole world knew by now that Nathan Fawcett was Ethan Linden.

Everyone in the Linden Family knew.

Only Charles Prescott was still in the dark.

But by the looks of it, he would probably find out very soon.

...

Nathan Fawcett said to Anne Sutton, "Any plans for today? Should we go for a walk in the park?"

"What’s there to do at a park?"

"All you do is work," Nathan Fawcett said. "Wouldn’t it be nice to take a walk on your day off?"

"Alright, fine." Anne glanced outside and saw that the weather was quite nice.

It was spring, and the flowers were in bloom.

A perfect time to go out and see the flowers.

Just as the two of them were about to leave, Nathan Fawcett’s phone rang. He glanced at the screen. "It’s my mom."

"Why is your mom calling you?"

Anne didn’t get it.

"I’ll take it and see," Nathan Fawcett said.

Even though Anna Linden had made him leave the Linden Group, she was still his mother.

Nathan Fawcett answered the call.

"Are you in Westhaven?" Anna Linden asked.

"I just got back," Nathan Fawcett replied.

"I was starting to think you wouldn’t come back!" Anna Linden said. "I heard Caleb Summers followed you to the Fawcett Group. His family came to me about it. You need to talk some sense into him."

The person most furious about Caleb Summers leaving the Linden Group was, of course, his father.

Nathan Fawcett thought about Caleb Summers, who was currently living it up in Westhaven.

"I’ve already tried talking to him," Nathan Fawcett said. "He won’t listen to me."

He’d always been a spoiled young master.

He wouldn’t listen to what Nathan said now.

He had insisted on following Nathan to Westhaven.

"Just try talking to him," Anna Linden insisted.

Nathan Fawcett nodded. "Alright, I’ll try my best."

After he hung up with Anna Linden, Anne Sutton looked at him. "What did your mother say?"

Nathan Fawcett glanced at her and explained, "She said Caleb Summers followed me to Westhaven and she wants me to convince him to go back."

"After you left last time, Caleb Summers came looking for you! He said he was going to find your mother and have her tell you to come back to work at the Linden Group. He didn’t leave the company because of that, did he?"

"Most likely," Nathan Fawcett said. "I’ll talk to him later. He belongs at the Linden Group. He’s been there much longer than I have. There’s no reason for him to lose his job over me."

When he left the Linden Group, he never intended to poach their employees.

He and his mother weren’t enemies.

Anne Sutton nodded. "Mm."

They went to the park and stayed until evening, then went to Mrs. Sutton’s place for dinner.

Ian hadn’t seen his grandmother in several days.

When he saw Mrs. Sutton, he showered her with compliments and followed her around.

When he entered the private dining room, he saw Anna Linden was also there and called out, "Grandma."

Seeing Ian, Anna Linden asked, "Did you come back with your dad?"

Ian nodded.

"Where’s your dad?" Anna Linden asked.

"They’re outside."

"Tell him to come in."

Anne Sutton and Nathan Fawcett were next door, just about to order, when Ian came over. "Dad, Mom, Grandma wants you to come over."

Hearing this, Nathan Fawcett and Anne Sutton exchanged a look. ’So Anna Linden is here too?’

Though they didn’t know why she wanted to see them, they went over anyway.

When Anna Linden saw them, she said, "Sit."

"Dr. Linden, what are you doing here?" Anne Sutton asked.

"I came over after work."

She hadn’t gone to the hospital today, but she still had a meeting in the afternoon.

She was the type who never stayed idle, not even on weekends.

The recent issues with the Linden Group had drained much of her energy, leaving her with a persistent headache.
