Seeing her mother looking at her, Anne Sutton said, "Just drive. I don’t want to talk about him."

After they finished their driving practice, they returned to the restaurant and saw Justin Shields arriving.

He saw Mrs. Sutton and said, "Mrs. Sutton."

Mrs. Sutton’s attitude was very cold when she saw him. "What are you doing here?"

Justin Shields said, "A friend told me the food here is great, so I came to check it out. Business seems to be going well for you, Mrs. Sutton."

Anne Sutton glanced at him. "It’s been a while. When did you get here? I thought you were in Westhaven."

"Nope," Justin Shields said. "I come over here occasionally. By the way, how’s the apartment?"

"It’s great," Anne Sutton said. "Thanks for finding it for me. It’s really nice."

Justin Shields said, "I’m glad you like it."

Anne Sutton looked at the man. "Where are your friends?"

"They’re inside," Justin Shields said. "They’re drinking, so I came out to take a break. How have things been with Ethan Linden lately?"

"Things are great," Anne Sutton said. "Why do you ask? Is there a problem?"

’He couldn’t possibly know that I had a fight with Nathan Fawcett, could he?’

Anne Sutton looked at Justin Shields, her suspicion growing.

’Is his information network that good?’

Justin Shields said, "That’s good to hear."

"..." Seeing he didn’t know anything, Anne Sutton breathed a sigh of relief.

Justin Shields chatted with Anne Sutton for a little while longer before rejoining his friends to eat.

Anne Sutton helped out around the restaurant, then had a bite to eat with Ian.

Ian looked at Anne Sutton and asked, "Mommy, why hasn’t Daddy been coming home lately?"

Anne Sutton looked at Ian and said, "Do you miss him?"

"Don’t you miss him?" Ian asked, looking at Anne Sutton curiously.

Anne Sutton replied, "...Why would I miss him?"

’He can come back or not, I don’t care!’

’It’s better if he doesn’t. That way I don’t have to look at his infuriating face!’

Ian said, "Then I don’t miss him either."

Anne Sutton sat to the side, watching Ian. "If your daddy never came back and you just lived with me, would you be happy?"

Ian replied, "Of course I’d be happy. As long as I have Mommy, I’ll be happy. But I think if Daddy isn’t here, you’ll be unhappy."

"Why would I be unhappy?" Anne Sutton forced a smile for Ian. "If he’s not here, my days are very peaceful."

’Even though I think of him occasionally, his absence doesn’t really affect me.’

’He was gone for so long before, leaving me all alone in the Fawcett Family estate, and I survived. What’s there to be afraid of now?’

By the time Anne Sutton and Ian finished dinner and left the dining area, it was already late.

She was getting ready to go home.

Mrs. Sutton said, "Oh, right. Justin Shields is still in the private room. His friends have all left, but he drank quite a lot. I think he’s drunk. Do you want to go check on him?"

Hearing her mother, Anne Sutton walked into the private room and, just as expected, saw Justin Shields there, completely wasted.

"Justin Shields!" Anne Sutton called out to him, but he didn’t respond.

She nudged him with her phone, but that didn’t wake him either.

Mrs. Sutton asked, "What should we do? We can’t just leave him here, can we? Should we take him home with us?"

After all, they did know Justin Shields.

Even though she disliked his mother, he was in their restaurant now, and Mrs. Sutton was a little worried.

Anne Sutton said, "No, let’s not take him home. We can find a hotel nearby for him to sleep it off."

’Taking him back to my place would just feel weird. Even though he helped me find my apartment, I don’t feel like I know him that well.’

Mrs. Sutton said, "That’s a good idea."

Anne Sutton had one of the restaurant’s waiters help her drag Justin Shields to the car, then she drove off and found a hotel nearby.

She glanced at Ian, who had fallen asleep in the car because of the late hour, and said to her mother, "You two wait here. I’ll take him up to his room and be right back."

Mrs. Sutton nodded. "Alright."

She wasn’t entirely comfortable leaving Ian in the car.

Anne Sutton had her mother help her get Justin Shields out of the car, and she supported him as they went inside.

She looked at the man, wondering how he’d managed to get so drunk. She propped him up in the lobby first, then went to check him in.

Nathan Fawcett and Caleb Summers were just walking out from inside when they happened to see Anne Sutton at the front desk.

Caleb Summers spoke up. "Isn’t that Anne?"

Nathan Fawcett looked over and saw Anne Sutton finish up, grab the room key, and go over to help Justin Shields up from the sofa he was lying on.

The corner of Nathan Fawcett’s mouth twitched at the sight.

Caleb Summers said, "What’s Anne doing with that guy?"

’Nathan Fawcett hadn’t expected this. He’d only been gone a few days, and she’d already moved on so fast, getting together with Justin Shields.’

Without a second thought, he walked right up to her.

Anne Sutton was struggling to pull Justin Shields to his feet. He was tall, making it a difficult task, and now someone was blocking her path.

"Excuse me, please let me through," she said. When the person didn’t move, she looked up and saw Caleb Summers and Nathan Fawcett standing right in front of her.

Nathan Fawcett was staring at her, his gaze terrifying.

Anne Sutton looked at the two of them and asked, "What are you two doing here?"

Caleb Summers retorted, "We should be asking you that. What are you doing with him?"

Even Caleb Summers was a little annoyed seeing Anne Sutton with Justin Shields.

’What right does that Shields guy have?’

Anne Sutton said, "He’s drunk. I’m taking him to a hotel."

Anne Sutton explained while still struggling to hold Justin Shields up. She clearly couldn’t manage on her own. She looked at Caleb Summers. "Come and help."

"I refuse," Caleb Summers said. "I don’t want to help with this."

Seeing that neither of the men intended to lift a finger, Anne Sutton said, "Fine. Suit yourselves."

With that, she tried to start moving with Justin Shields again.

Nathan Fawcett said, "The moment I’m gone, you’re out getting a room with him? Anne Sutton, are you that easy?"

He had thought she was busy with work, but seeing her with Justin Shields, Nathan Fawcett felt a rage so intense it was about to burst out of him.

Anne Sutton found Nathan Fawcett’s jealous display almost laughable. "So what if I’m getting a room with him? What business is it of yours? What right do you have to question me?"

"You..." Nathan Fawcett started to say something, but Anne Sutton ignored him and tried to walk away, still supporting Justin Shields.

Naturally, Nathan Fawcett wasn’t about to let her go. He grabbed her arm.

Anne Sutton was still holding up Justin Shields, so the sudden pull made her lose her balance, and she nearly fell.

She glared at the man. "Are you insane? Are you trying to get us killed?"

Justin Shields nearly collapsed onto the floor, but luckily Caleb Summers stepped in to hold him up.

Nathan Fawcett glanced at Caleb Summers and ordered, "You take him to his room."

Although Caleb Summers wanted nothing to do with this mess, he didn’t dare disobey an order from Nathan Fawcett.

Seeing Anne Sutton getting a room for Justin Shields had driven Nathan Fawcett absolutely mad with anger!

Caleb Summers took the room key and left, supporting Justin Shields.

Since someone else had taken over the difficult task, Anne Sutton didn’t bother following.

Her only reason for bringing him here was that he was drunk and she didn’t want to take him back to her place, so she’d found a hotel.

But she never expected to run into Nathan Fawcett, let alone get a lecture from him.

Anne Sutton glanced at the man she hadn’t seen in days, then turned to leave. Nathan Fawcett followed right behind her as she walked out of the hotel.
