Chapter 65 Unexpected Encounter[2]
Trent’s brows morphed into a frown as he kept swiping through the books on the shelf. “Where is it…”
The frown on his face only got deeper when he reached the other end of the shelf and still didn’t find what he was looking for. He was sure he placed it in this shelf row.
“Why don’t you just calm down and search through them slowly and thoroughly..?” A student standing beside Trent said.
He had spiky green hair and slanted eyebrows, his face appeared quite handsome as his green hair made him look crazy.
“Just shut up Yeet and help me look for it,” Trent replied sharply.
A slight frown appeared on the other student’s face for a few seconds before vanishing, leaving no traces of its former presence.
He was one of those who followed top and influential students all to get benefits from their friendship.
It wasn’t like he wanted to be friends with Trent, however, he only associated with Trent due to the influence and popularity he gained from him.
Yeet even hated Trent, Trent was very arrogant, hot-blooded and proud. He was a pain in the ass to be around. But his name did bring Yeet some recognition and influence.
Trent, who didn’t know what Yeet was thinking, kept searching through the spell library.
His eyes were squinted slightly as he kept checking through the books and scrolls.
“Trent, What are you even looking for…?” Yeet asked. He had followed Trent here in hopes of assisting him in finding whatever he was looking for, however, Trent wouldn’t even tell him.
Whenever he asked, Trent would simply tell him to shut up, mind his business or say something like “you’re just useless here.”
He already had an inkling as to what Trent was looking for—a spell scroll, after all, why else would Trent be avoiding the librarian? However, there was nothing he could do to help since Trent wouldn’t even tell him the exact spell scroll.
A low exhale left his lips when he saw that Trent didn’t even reply, though he wasn’t surprised, he was still annoyed. ‘Why did I even decide to help him…?’ He mumbled inwardly.
The scrolls were laid vertically and arranged neatly while the books were arranged neatly on one another.
There were labels under each set of books, describing them.
Though it was a spell library, there were still normal books in the library. It wasn’t filled with spells alone.
Most of them were simply textbooks that assisted students in mana absorption while the rest were history books about the ‘apocalypse ages’.
What Trent was looking for was a spell scroll—a tier three spell scroll.
Just this morning, he visited the spell library to learn new tier-two spells. While searching for a good spell to learn, he dropped the tier three spell he had brought with him to the library on this particular shelf.
Back then, his mind was quite occupied so he simply forgot about the spell. He had already learnt the spell so he didn’t remember to bring it out with him.
Though, normally, this wouldn’t be a problem as students didn’t face heavy punishments for misarranging spell scrolls or books in the library.
The only time students would be punished by the academy was when they either lost spell scrolls and other books from the library or take the books outside of the academy.
The only problem was the person that gave him the spell.
It was given to him by his instructor. Every elite student had a personal instructor or teacher as some liked to call it.
The moment they became a top 25 in the academy, they were given a choice to choose a personal instructor to train with and improve with even more.
Those with more than one element got more than one personal instructor to train their other element.
It was one of the perks that made elite students advance faster than normal.
How would Trent face his instructor if he couldn’t find the spell? From what his teacher told him, the spell was quite powerful among tier-three spells, it was even quite rare.
His instructor was from an influential family, and the spell scroll he gave Trent to learn was something that belonged to his family. This alone meant it was never supposed to be in the library!
If the man found out Trent misplaced the spell… he might never forgive him! Or even worse, he would no longer give Trent any spells or techniques from his family!
The spell library didn’t have tier three spell scrolls, the higher spell tier in the library was tier two. Even the number of tier-two spells in the library wasn’t that much and was only about ten.
This was because most of the students didn’t even reach the third mana core stage during their academy years.
Most of the students broke and got to the second mana core stage before their graduation while the less talented ones could not even break through.
Some reached the second mana core stage through the help of rare and expensive materials provided by their influential families. However, the usage of external help could only take one so far.
Breaking through to the third mana core stage within five to six years was anything but easy and could only be achieved by extremely talented students—like Trent.
The academy saw it as a waste of time to drop a tier three spell scroll in the library when only about 5% of the academy students could achieve that.
Trent was sure the spell scroll was in the library since he had never taken any book outside of the academy.
It couldn’t be in his dorm room since he had already searched every nook and cranny of his room before coming here. He remembered placing it in this particular shelf row so he knew it was definitely in the library.
Since it was only this morning, the librarian shouldn’t have re-arranged the books.
He hadn’t approached the librarian about his problem. He was standing at the far end of the library, away from her gaze.
While the shelves in the library weren’t that huge, they were still a lot taller than an average human being. 𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗹.𝐨𝗿𝗴
The shelves around him blocked him from her view so she wasn’t able to see him. It didn’t exactly block him from seeing the librarian though as he could simply watch her through the small gaps between the books.
The librarian was only a stage two Elementalist so her mana sense wasn’t that strong or powerful enough to detect his strange and panicked movements which made it easier to hide from her.
A few students noticed his unsettled appearance, however, they simply avoided him by staying as far away from him as possible.
The academy’s Elite students were known to be very arrogant, they never paid attention to the ‘normal’ students and when they did, it was to cause problems.
Out of all of them, Trent was known to be one of the hot-headed ones. Though he was the youngest elite student, he was still one of the most ruthless. They would rather avoid him.

‘Calm down…’ He kept saying to himself. Trent rubbed his brows in frustration as he paced up and down.
Just as he got to the end of the shelf that faced the library’s entrance, his body suddenly froze.
He could see a student with dark brown hair standing in front of one of the shelves, rather than picking a book or scrolls the student simply kept laying his hands on them, one after the other while walking across the shelf.
Trent’s brows twitched slightly, he clenched his fists as he muttered one word: “Harry…”

Hey guys! I’m sorry for the earlier inconvenience.
I had a problem with my notes app, I didn’t know why the old notes suddenly copied to the new ones.
I didn’t notice this until I uploaded the chapter. It was when I started reading through the uploaded chapter that I noticed that a former chapter had been repeated.
The original chapter was lost, no matter what I did, I couldn’t recover it. I had no choice but to rewrite the chapter, the error has been fixed now, thanks. Keep supporting this novel! (this won’t increase the coin price)
