-------------------------------------------------
The silence lingered.
Shonitaksha, still kneeling upon one knee, raised his trembling hand.
"W... wait... I..."
He never finished.
Parashurama moved without any hesitation.
There was no flourish.
No roar. No warning.
Only a single step.
Then the divine axe descended.
SHRRAAAAKK!!
The blade split straight through the centre of Shonitaksha’s skull.
From crown...
To waist.
The force behind the strike was so overwhelming that the earth beneath the Rakshasa General burst apart as the axe continued its path into the ground.
For a heartbeat... Nothing happened.
"...."
Then...
Shonitaksha’s body separated cleanly into two halves.
Blood erupted like a crimson fountain, drenching the battlefield around Parashurama.
The sage did not move.
The torrent of blood splashed across his garments, staining them red, yet his expression remained unchanged.
His eyes were as calm as an endless sea.
As though executing judgment was no different from breathing.
The two halves of Shonitaksha’s corpse collapsed in opposite directions with heavy thuds.
This time...
There was no regeneration.
No dark Yogic energy. No miraculous recovery.
Only death. Absolute. Final.
A chilling silence engulfed Malikavana.
"...."
"...."
"...."
Several Rakshasa soldiers instinctively stumbled backwards.
Even hardened veterans who had slaughtered countless enemies found their throats dry.
Across the allied army, many warriors also unconsciously took a step back.
Not out of fear of being attacked...
But because the execution had been so swift...
So merciless...
That none of them had even seen the axe move.
Only the aftermath remained.
Parashurama slowly lifted the axe from the shattered earth.
The blood slid from its blade in slow crimson streams.
Without saying a word...
He began walking.
Each measured step echoed unnaturally across the silent battlefield.
From the allied ranks, another warrior emerged.
Golden armour reflected the fading light of dusk.
The great bow rested across his shoulder.
Karna.
Without speaking, he fell into step beside Parashurama.
The Guru and the disciple of Surya walked together through the battlefield.
Neither army dared obstruct their path.
Humans instinctively lowered their heads.
Rakshasas unconsciously moved aside.
An invisible pressure radiated from the sage, pressing against every soul present.
It was not merely strength.
It was authority earned through ages of battle.
Authority that demanded obedience without uttering a single command.
Even Pushpasura’s monstrous beasts lowered their heads uneasily.
Finally...
Pushpasura’s patience broke.
"...."
His crimson eyes remained fixed upon the blood-covered sage.
"You!"
His voice thundered across Malikavana.
"Since the moment you arrived..."
"You’ve acted as though this battlefield belongs to you."
He tightened his grip around the black sword.
"There is one question that has continued to trouble me."
His eyes narrowed.
"...Who are you?"
His expression twisted with hatred.
"And why..."
"...do you resemble that Mayavi I despise so much?"
The battlefield waited.
Every eye turned toward Parashurama.
The sage stopped walking.
For several long moments... He said nothing.
He merely turned his head.
His gaze settled upon Pushpasura.
Nothing more. No anger. No hatred.
Only two ancient eyes looking directly into the Rakshasa King’s soul.
Pushpasura felt his heartbeat falter.
Those eyes...
They seemed capable of seeing through every lie.
Every sin.
Every drop of blood he had ever spilled.
For the first time since becoming Rakshasa King...
He instinctively wanted to look away.
Yet his pride refused.
The silence stretched.
Parashurama never answered.
He simply continued looking at him.
The unspoken pressure became almost unbearable.
Then...
Another voice broke the silence.
Devaratha stepped forward.
He looked first toward his Guru and respectfully bowed his head before turning toward Pushpasura.
"You seek to know his identity."
His voice carried calmly across the battlefield.
"Then listen well."
He looked at the blood-stained sage standing beside Karna.
"The one before you... is Bhagavan Parashurama."
"The Guru of countless kings."
"The Guru of the greatest warriors."
"My Guru."
He paused.
Then spoke the words that caused the battlefield itself to freeze.
"He is ...the Sixth Avatar of Lord Vishnu."
"And ...one of the Chiranjeevis."
"An immortal who continues to walk this world."
Silence. Absolute silence.
"...."
"...."
"...."
The words echoed through every heart upon Malikavana.
The allied soldiers immediately folded their hands in reverence.
Many fell to one knee.
Even seasoned kings lowered their heads before the immortal sage.
Across the Rakshasa ranks... Faces turned pale.
Whispers spread like wildfire.
"An Avatar... Of Vishnu..."
Pushpasura’s eyes widened.
For a brief instant... Shock overtook him.
Then...
That shock transformed into something far darker.
Hatred. Pure. Unrestrained.
The veins upon his forehead bulged violently.
His fingers dug into the hilt of his sword until the metal groaned beneath the pressure.
"So..."
he whispered in anger.
"...another one."
His lips slowly curled into a cold smile devoid of joy.
"The Mayavi... still hides behind his incarnations."
His crimson eyes burned with murderous intent as they remained fixed upon Parashurama.
He wanted nothing more than to charge forward.
To strike.
To challenge the Avatar before him.
Yet...
Something deep within his instincts warned him against such foolishness.
Not today. Not now.
He swallowed his rage.
But before turning away, he left behind a single promise that echoed across the battlefield.
"Tell your Mayavi..."
His voice was cold enough to freeze blood.
"...that everything he has done to me... will be repaid."
"And if I cannot reach him..."
His murderous gaze remained fixed upon Parashurama.
"...then I shall collect that debt... through every one of his Avatars."
The evening wind carried those words into the gathering darkness,
While Parashurama remained utterly unmoved, his expression unchanged, as though the threat of a Rakshasa King held no more weight than the whisper of a passing breeze.
The tension lingering over Malikavana slowly began to fade.
The day’s battle had truly ended.
Devaratha raised his hand.
Golden Yogic energy rippled across the battlefield.
A moment later...
The magnificent Vajravyaghra Rath materialised once again in a shower of radiant light.
The four celestial saber-toothed tigers, who had remained standing independently throughout the duel, immediately recognised their master’s summons.
Each let out a deep, thunderous growl before gracefully making its way toward the divine chariot.
One after another...
They took their rightful positions.
The divine harnesses manifested around them of their own accord, fastening themselves without a single command from Devaratha.
Within moments...
The Vajravyaghra Rath stood complete once more, its golden wheels glowing softly beneath the fading evening sky.
Devaratha stepped onto the chariot.
The four celestial beasts roared proudly before carrying their master across the battlefield.
Neither the allied soldiers nor the Rakshasas obstructed his path.
Every eye remained fixed upon the destination of the divine chariot.
Toward...
Bhagavan Parashurama.
And Karna.
The Vajravyaghra Rath gradually slowed before coming to a halt a respectful distance away.
Before the chariot had fully settled...
Devaratha stepped down.
He walked directly toward his Guru.
Without the slightest hesitation...
He bent down and respectfully touched Bhagavan Parashurama’s feet.
The immortal sage looked down at his disciple.
"...."
The stern expression that had terrified an entire battlefield softened ever so slightly.
He placed his hand upon Devaratha’s head.
"May your resolve remain unwavering."
"May your Dharma never falter."
"May your weapons always rise in protection of the righteous."
The blessing carried the quiet warmth of a teacher watching his student walk the path he had been taught.
Devaratha remained bowed for another moment before rising respectfully.
Only then did he turn toward the warrior standing beside his Guru.
Karna.
The son of Surya smiled broadly.
"So..."
he chuckled.
"You’ve grown stronger again."
Devaratha laughed looking at Karna.
"And you’re still stealing my prey from halfway across the battlefield."
Karna shook his head with a grin.
"If I had arrived a heartbeat later, Guru would have had one less Rakshasa to execute."
Both warriors laughed quietly.
There was no formality between them.
Only the easy familiarity shared by two disciples who had walked the same path.
Karna stepped forward and firmly placed his hand upon Devaratha’s shoulder.
"It is good to see you again, Devara."
Devaratha returned the smile.
"And it is good to fight beside you once more, Karna..."
Although they were not bound by blood...
The bond forged within the Gurukul ran just as deep.
Karna had entered Bhagavan Parashurama’s Gurukul years before Devaratha.
But Devaratha had finished his own training even before Karna did.
Yet during the years their paths had crossed, the two had sparred countless times, trained beneath the same relentless master, endured the same impossible lessons, and earned one another’s respect.
The relationship they shared the friendship become unbreakable one.
No jealousy. No rivalry.
Only mutual admiration.
Parashurama quietly observed the exchange.
A faint smile, almost imperceptible, appeared upon his face.
Seeing his disciples standing together once more reminded him of quieter days at the Gurukul, when the only battles they fought were against one another beneath his watchful gaze.
Devaratha then gestured respectfully toward the allied encampment.
"Guru..."
"Our camp is prepared."
"Please allow me to escort you."
Parashurama gave a simple nod.
-Nod!
"...."
Without another word, the three began walking together.
The immortal Guru in the centre.
Karna to one side.
Devaratha to the other.
As they made their way through the allied ranks, every soldier instinctively stepped aside, lowering weapons and bowing their heads in reverence.
Kings, commanders, sages and warriors alike folded their hands respectfully as the trio passed.
The atmosphere within the allied army transformed.
Only moments earlier, they had witnessed the wrath of the Sixth Avatar.
Now...
They witnessed something far gentler.
A Guru walking peacefully beside two of his most accomplished disciples, their quiet conversation replacing the thunder of battle as they disappeared into the welcoming lights of the allied camp.
As the three legends entered the allied encampment, the atmosphere itself seemed to change.
Campfires flickered gently beneath the deepening twilight.
Wounded soldiers who had been receiving treatment slowly rose despite their injuries.
Kings.
Generals.
Sages.
Every person present instinctively folded their hands as Bhagavan Parashurama walked through the camp.
No one dared speak loudly.
No one wished to disturb the sacred stillness surrounding the immortal sage.
Then...
A powerful gust of wind swept across the entire encampment.
The flames of the campfires bent in one direction.
Leaves spiralled into the air.
The banners of every kingdom fluttered wildly.
Everyone instinctively looked upward.
From the darkening heavens...
A radiant figure descended.
His mighty form landed with astonishing gentleness, yet the very earth seemed to welcome his arrival.
The divine aura surrounding him was immeasurable.
His tail swayed calmly behind him.
His broad shoulders bore the strength to lift mountains.
His eyes...
Held nothing but unwavering devotion.
It was...
Mahaveer Hanuman.
The entire camp immediately bowed.
Even the kings lowered themselves.
Karna respectfully folded his hands.
Devaratha immediately knelt before the great devotee of Lord Rama.
Hanuman’s gaze, however... Never shifted from Parashurama.
For several long moments...
Neither of the immortals spoke.
Two Chiranjeevis... Separated by ages...
Now stood face to face once again.
Hanuman slowly stepped forward.
His breathing unconsciously became uneven.
"...."
His eyes remained fixed upon the warrior sage.
Then...
Something extraordinary happened.
To everyone else...
Bhagavan Parashurama stood before them exactly as he always had.
The matted locks.
The battle-worn garments.
The divine axe resting upon his shoulder.
The stern face of the warrior sage.
But...
That was not what Hanuman saw.
His vision blurred.
The figure before him slowly changed.
The axe... Disappeared.
The warrior’s robes transformed into royal garments.
The stern eyes became infinitely compassionate.
The reflection before Hanuman was no longer Parashurama.
It was... Sri Rama.
His Lord. His King.
The one whose name had become the very rhythm of his soul.
The word escaped Hanuman’s lips almost as a whisper.
His body trembled.
Thousands of memories surged into his heart all at once.
The forests of Chitrakuta.
The search for Mother Sita.
The leap across the ocean.
The burning of Lanka.
The battlefield where Dharma had triumphed.
The joyous return to Ayodhya.
And finally...
That heartbreaking moment when his beloved Lord completed His earthly mission.
A lump formed in Hanuman’s throat.
For one fleeting instant...
It felt as though those long-separated years had never existed.
As though Rama still stood before him.
His eyes became moist.
Without the slightest hesitation...
Hanuman slowly knelt.
Then bowed completely.
His forehead touched the earth before Parashurama.
No words followed. None were needed.
For Hanuman...
Every incarnation of Narayana had a part of the very lord Rama and they were worthy of infinite reverence.
But the one reflected within his heart...
Would forever be Rama.
