Chapter 337 - 337: Ch 337: The First Test

After waking up, Weiss and her group had a hearty and fulfilling breakfast. Then, all of them got ready and left for the the hidden realm.

Today, all of them would be taking the first test. At first Evan and the other had decided to not even try, but as the first test had turned out to be quite simple and quick, all the men felt that not taking it would be a waste.

That was why all of them were going to take the test. But as they already knew that they did not have the talent, what they were doing was useless. So they were making sure that there was no hope in their heart.

With Weiss having the backing of the city lord, she was able to get priority quite easily. Her whole group would be among the first few who would be taking this test.

Weiss was happy about this. The quicker she could be done with this, the better it was.

And even though Weiss already knew that she had talent for magic, there was still some doubt in her heart about the test of box opening that she had done.

It was not impossible that there was some kind of problem associated with this box like magic item. So in that case, there was a possibility that she actually did not have any talent for magic at all and all her hopes and dreams were in vain.

Weiss had thought about this possibility but had not allowed this to dominate her mind. She was still confident that no matter what, she would be able to find a way.

Especially after learning that there was a possibility for even a talentless person to also gain talent for magic through various dangerous means, she had managed to relax even more.

Even if it was dangerous, if there was a way, there was hope for her.

That was why, Weiss had managed to maintain her carefree expression even as the test was about to start. No matter what, she was going to keep her mind calm and collected.

Among the other two ladies, it was Elise who was having the most worry. Sakura was already guaranteed to pass this test and the same was true for Weiss. But that was not the case for Elise.

She had never done any magic talent related tests. So results would be the something brand new and unexpected. And that was exactly what was giving him so much stress.

She was going to accompany Weiss no matter what. So it actually did not matter if she had the talent for magic or not.

But she knew that magi had a much longer lifespan than a mere knight. So if Weiss managed to become a magi and she stayed as a simple grand knight, a time would come in a few decades when they would need to say goodbye to one another. That was because Elise would end up dying.

But Elise did not want that. She did not want her beloved mistress Weiss to ever be alone and lonely. So, from the very bottom of her heart, she was wishing for a talent in magic even if it was a minor and insignificant one.

On the other hand, there was not even a trace of worry or tension on Sakura's face. Her trust in Weiss was immense.

So as Weiss had said that she had good talent as a magus, she believed it completely and was not worried about failing this round even a little bit.

So instead of worry, the expression that her face was showing was excitement and curiosity. How could she not be curious when something that she had only ever dreamed about was happening right before her eyes.

And then there was Alexis. Unlike his mistress, he was not worried at all. He was not really very knowledgeable and about magic, magi and such things. At the same time, his ambition was also low.

Just like how Sakura was very confident that she was definitely going to pass, Evan was also extremely confident that he was going to fail.

That was because, even though Weiss, Taida and such had taken unconventional tests where there was a possibility of a lot of errors, he himself had taken the genuine talent detection test. And his result was zero. That meant he was just a regular person without the ability to become a magus.

In this small room, there was a crystal ball before him. This was something called the "Archana Crystal" and this something that could detect any and all kinds of magical talents.

When he was in the world of the magus he had overheard that this Archana Crystal was something that was connected with the system of the magi itself. So there was no way to cheat it.

So, Evan did not waist any time and immediately put his hand on the ball. And as he kept his hands on the ball for quite some time, nothing happened. The crystal ball did not show any kind of light.

Just like that, after a certain amount of time had passed, the door that he had used to enter the room, opened. This was a clear sign that he had failed the test.

And this was the expected result. So without any kind of gloom or regret, Evan left the room.
