Chapter 290 - 290: Ch 290: Reaching Tamataya

After meeting Sakura in this city and spending some quality time with her, Weiss and her group finally left the city the next day after the shopping trip. Their destination was the city of Ryukan where the magic ship was going to land.

To reach this city, they needed to go through two other large cities of Tamataya and Niseyura. This was a route that Sakura had came up with after her research. Both of these cities were ruled by families who were not in a good relationship with the Konoe family.

So Sakura was not worried about being chased anymore. And even if they were in a city controlled by her father, Sakura would not be worried as she had her friends to help and protect her.

So while walking through a forest road, she was happily discussing about the knight's secret arts that she knew about with Weiss.

As Sakura was now a part of her team, Weiss was helping her out with her practice of the knights secret art. Her talent in this field was not bad but with how much she had been pampered, her practical experience was extremely low and she had not managed to fully unleash her talent.

For a knight's training, facing hardships and enduring pain was very much needed. Without that, even a genius would have a hard time becoming stronger.

And the lack of hardship in her life was the main reason why Sakura was only a mid level apprentice knight. With her talent, reaching the realm of an official knight by her age was very much a possibility.

So to help her out, while continuing the journey, Weiss modified her knight's secret art, gave her several advices about how she should continue her practice in the future and even gave Sakura the chance of fight some weak animals to gain some real battle experiences.

So in just one week, Sakura went from being a complete amature to now having the capabilities of defeating most people who were in the same realm as her.

Her knight's secret art was already quite good and it boosted her dexterity and endurance. This combination did not sound ideal but it was actually excellent for long drawn out battles.

This combination also provided Sakura was excellent defense and excellent offense at the same time depending on her stance and how she was using this. So even though this combination was not the best, it was surprisingly decent.

With Weiss's modification, alongside the boost to those same attributes, Sakura also gain a minor boost to her agility and strength. Even though this new boost definitely was small, it was still good enough to increase Sakura's combat power by a decent margin.

Weiss had also taught Sakura a few combat arts. Fleet footed steps was an excellent art that Weiss forced all her good friends and subordinates to learn with how versatile and useful it was. Sakura was also not an exception to this rule.

But a few days was definitely not enough time to master it. Actually, so far, among Weiss's new subordinates, only Evan had managed to barely learn it. Everyone else had not even reached the beginner level for this art.

As this pleasant journey was continuing, very close to the city of Tamataya, Weiss and her group came accross a bunch of bandits attacking a carriage filled with regular people.

Obviously the bandits were trying to loot it and take the women forcefully. Even though sexual matters were quite open in this whole world including this nation, forcing sex upon an unwilling party was still a major crime.

And the bandits here were doing exactly that. As they were useless waste without the ability to get a real woman on their own, these scums could only force themselves upon others. In that case, there was actually no need for them to even be alive.

So just like that, Weiss gave all of these bandits a death sentence. And as this group did not have any Knight or even a high level knight apprentice, she left the work of taking care of these people to the three weakest members of the group.

After her practice, this was Sakura's first chance of showing off her skills. So she immediately took out a naginata and attacked the bandits.

This was something that Weiss had given her. She herself had made this weapon after learning about it from the Seven Heroes Conclave and after learning that naginata was the weapon that Sakura was most comfortable with, Weiss had given her this.

As for Frank and Alexis, both of them were using a long sword of decent quality. They were not really battle loving people and had not practiced with anything but the most common swords. But in recent times, even they were getting interested in combat after seeing how powerful Weiss, Elise, Apep and Evan were.

Among the three individuals, it was Sakura who performed the best even with her weakest realm. When she had said that she was good with naginata, it was not an exaggeration. She really was extremely suited to this weapon.

Her boosted dexterity allowed her to control this weapon perfectly. And now that her strength had also gotten a boost, she was having an even easier time handling this weapon in her hands.

So with Sakura doing an excellent job, all the bandits were defeated in a very short period of time. Unfortunately this time, Weiss did not find much loot from them. These people had became bandits not too long ago and they were so useless that they had not managed to save up on anything. So all of them were dirt poor.

So Sakura just ended up killing all of them. Seeing this, everyone was a bit surprised. They had expected a sheltered young lady like her to be uncomfortable with death and killing.

But that was not the case. For the lord families; bloody duels, executions and insurgent attacks were an everyday thing. So Sakura had already seen quite a bit of bloodshed even in her sheltered life and was not uncomfortable with killing her enemies.

The members of the group were happy about this. Teaching someone about killing was not a very pleasant experience so everyone was glad that they did not need to teach her that.

After this simple battle, nothing else happened. And Weiss and her group managed to reach the city of Tamataya with the rescued carriage without any problem.
