Chapter 400 - Appearance
'Tsk! What kind of power is this? Is this similar to what the Celestial Being has?' Percival complained after realizing that he's weakening due to the mysterious ability of the Khrusams.
It was just giving a lot of pressure to their group but it feels like it's sucking their energy… or perhaps, their life force!
They tried to use their Mana Artifacts to create multi-layered barriers but unlike the sages of Montego who have a Secret Art that allows them to manipulate their life force, they were only able to manipulate Mana which doesn't seem to be enough to deal with them…
Thud!
Suddenly, as Percival was despairing due to his helpless situation, a simple Mana Bullet was used by someone from far away and hit the head of the Khrusam in front.
The bullet passed through his head killing the alien instantly!
Bam!
His body dropped to the ground unmoving…
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Several more Mana Bullets were used but this time, the aliens were able to react quickly and manipulated their energy to defend their whole body from an almost invisible shot by a magician…
Finally! The suffocating pressure and energy-sucking ability of the aliens were interrupted! They can finally move again!
Percival didn't know who helped them but he quickly ordered his men to cast their Mana Spells… They can't allow the aliens to regain their momentum!
"Archon – Ice Blast!"
"Fire Enchant – Flame Pillar!"
"Earth Enchant – Stone Prison!"
"Archon – Double Ice Lance!"
The multiple mana spells from their grade 3 Mana Artifacts started coming out as they were thrown in the direction of the aliens.
"Do not stop! They need to concentrate to control their Death Energy! We can't let them have that!"
"Yes, Sir!"
The Adept Mages worked together as they pinned the Khrusams…
Aside from that, the Mana Bullets coming out of nowhere wasn't stopping at all!
'Someone's helping us… Whoever he is, he must be really strong… I can't even tell where the bullets are coming from.' Percival commented as he did his best to cast multiple spells at the same time.
He might be unlike Hayden Fraser that could use nine Mana Artifacts at the same time, but he can still use three of them without having to worry about the quality of the spells.
Archon - Rage Lightning!
Archon - Rage Lightning!
Archon - Rage Lightning!
Just like that, Percival used three Archon Series Mana Spells that interrupted the Khrusam's control with their Death Energy.
He also noticed that the lightning seems to be working well even if they can defend against it.
'Wait--They are struggling to defend against the lightning?!' The previous headmaster thought.
He wanted to confirm it quickly so as soon as his Mana Artifacts are ready, he did his simultaneous cast again.
Boom!
He noticed that the Khrusams were indeed being pushed back unlike when Petrification, Fire Magic, or other Elemental Magic aside from Lightning was used.
'It seems effective… but—'
The problem is that not all Mana Artifacts have Magic Structures for a lightning spell.
After all, the spell was too complicated and consumes a lot more mana than other spells.
Nevertheless, he continued casting his spells as the other magicians controlling the turrets finally had the time to target the Khrusams!
Fire!
He heard the voice of the controllers and soon, he noticed the Elemental Turrets and Mana Bomb Launchers raining the group of Khrusams as they retreated on the back lines.
They did their best to defend against the assault. However, due to the close distance of their fight and the previous mana spells that weakened them…
Their shield made of Death Energy collapsed!
Bam!
Three Khrusams were hit directly as they dropping on the ground!
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Their death was still a question but this is a good start!
These aliens have definitely overestimated their powers and thought that they could kill them with their small numbers!
Unfortunately, the other Khrusams have a familiar advanced technology that they had seen within the Alien Invasion Game. Apparently, all the other Khrusams managed to activate their Force Field in time to barely defend against the explosive power of their turrets.
Whom~
As they were preparing to cast another set of spells, they noticed that the temperature around dropped significantly.
Soon they noticed that the third eyes of the aliens were fully activated!
Crack! Crack! Crack!
Three adept mages close to them just died! Black energy came out of their mouth as they entered the Corpse Furnace of the aliens!
It happened too fast!
Aside from that, the Mech Frames who defeated some of their Steels Knights and Airships were going in their direction!
The Blaze Spaceship was unable to stop them at this point since there might be a friendly fire happening. They can only wait for their remaining Steel Knights to try and block those Mechs for them.
"Sir! Most of us only have thirty percent of our mana… We need to take a rest…"
"How about the Mana Stones?"
"Only ten of them are remaining. Most of the stones are for the Turrets and Launchers' energy supply."
"Tsk…" Percival knows that they need to have more energy to continue with the fight. After all, they are unsure if the Khrusams would continue retreating even after activating their third eye.
However, as he thought of taking their turrets' supply, he noticed a black figure appear in front of the Khrusams…
He appears to be a magician like them but Percival knows that he's not Hayden Fraser… After all, the old man is on the other side suppressing the androids and other Khrusams that the alien spaceships dared to send out.
Then, as he was planning to order a retreat, he felt a familiar aura bursting amid the golden-skinned aliens!
This aura… He can't mistake it…
"Wallace!"
Finally, that man is here… He knows how strong this person was based on what he had seen at the tower and of course, through the stories told by Yumi and Elaine.
He's unsure if he already dealt with the aliens at the State of Kazan but he's happy that the man can finally lighten their burden in this war.
Sure enough, Percival saw the battle and the man appears to know how to fight against the Khrusams even if he's facing multiple of them at once.
