Chapter 1832 - 1353: Master of Void Realm (Part 2)

Under Filly’s guidance, the maids pioneered the Star Magic Faction through Astrology. With the concealment granted by Star Magic, the enemies of the fleet all died without knowing how, so for so many years no one ever realized there were Mages in the fleet.

At twenty, when the fleet put into port, Filly encountered a Divine Sect slaughtering a town. The fleet should have immediately set sail to avoid the war; that was how they had handled it all those years.

.Yet this time Filly steeled herself; all the maids set out together to save this unfortunate town.

The strongest among them, the Chief Maid, was already a Holy Sanctuary Mage; the others were also Golden Mages. Compared to the Evil God Mages, who were crushed and exploited day after day and drifted through life in a daze, the maids swept them aside like rotten wood.

It was from this day on that Filly set foot on the continent, founded the Miracle Alliance, and proclaimed that she possessed Miracles capable of purification of the pollution of The Gods of Four Pillars, calling on Mages to seek her protection; she would save this world ravaged by the Evil Gods. As the Alliance repelled the Evil God Sect time and again, more and more Mages came to seek refuge under Filly. Although Mage fall events would occasionally occur, everyone felt it was simply their misfortune; all believed that Filly truly could purify pollution, that the banner of the Alliance would dispel the Gods of Four Pillars from this world.

Ingenuity and strength were no longer met with hostility; everyone willingly studied the arts and approached the Void Realm, and the number of Mages rose sharply year by year. Yet strangely, Filly herself was never a Mage. Still, no one looked down on her for this; she was respectfully titled Great Sage, overseeing and planning the development of the territories and using the power of the Mages to rapidly expand the Alliance’s strength.

When Filly was twenty-eight, the Alliance faced its most perilous crisis: three mid-sized Evil God Sects attacked the Alliance in concert, and multiple Holy Sanctuary Mages within the Alliance simultaneously fell. Just as people began to doubt Filly’s prestige, her maids once more turned back the tide from the brink: one Legendary, nine Holy Domain—such a terrifying configuration of a force thoroughly crushed all external and internal threats.

From then on, the people spontaneously honored Filly as the Sun-and-Moon Great Sage, meaning she shone upon the world like the sun and moon, dispelling Darkness. Her maids were called the Dazzling Star Maids, clustering about the sun and moon, resplendent and radiant.

Yet the Evil God Sect still possessed overwhelming strength; it was only because they warred against each other and bled themselves dry that the Miracle Alliance had room to survive. When they finally took notice of the Miracle Alliance and joined forces to attack Filly’s territory, everyone urged Filly to abandon the outer regions and hold only the core City, but Filly wanted to save even the outermost of her subjects.

Her most oft-spoken line was: this is, after all, a world with Miracles—how could I give up so easily?

Through everyone’s combined efforts, the Alliance somehow withstood the joint assault of the Evil God Sect again and again, and the Alliance Mages rapidly grew. Seeing the Alliance swell in strength, the Evil God Sect at last could not sit still; all reactionary forces united and attacked the Alliance from every direction.

With the Alliance’s forces, it was utterly impossible to hold so many places, even if they promptly pulled back their lines. Yet Filly still chose without hesitation to protect the vast majority of people; even if the capital lay empty, she deemed it worth the risk. She chose to trust the Mages, to believe that everyone could create Miracles.

The Alliance Mages did not betray her expectations: the legions of Evil God Mages were all held outside the borders, and the four Evil God Legendaries who launched a surprise assault on the capital were slain on the spot by the Chief Maid.

The only one who did not create a Miracle was Filly.

She did not hide in the safehouse, but stubbornly insisted on watching the Legendary battle. In the aftermath of the Legendary war, the house that had been safe collapsed completely. There had been a Holy Sanctuary Mage at her side, but when she saw subjects in danger in the distance, she sent that Holy Sanctuary Mage away as well.

When the Chief Maid killed the Evil God Legendary and returned to clear away the rubble, she found that Filly, guarded to the death by several bodyguards, had still been unable to escape misfortune. With more than two thousand milliliters of blood lost, the maid had no Miracle that could save Filly; all her healing Technique Spirits had been completely spent in the previous battle.

The maid held Filly in her arms. She wanted to ask Filly why she had not hidden in the safehouse, but then felt there was no need. No one understood better than she that Filly had never mastered any Miracles; she was not even particularly clever—otherwise she would not have remained unable to become a Mage—yet for some reason she possessed much strange and curious knowledge.

This Sage maiden simply, by being able to respect every Mage as an equal and bring them hope and warmth, enabled the Mages to resist the temptations of the Evil Gods again and again.

Radiant as the sun, pure as the moon.

She always wanted to protect everyone, to pursue the so-called perfect ending, so there was no way she would hide... Because her very presence on the battlefield was a flawless banner. Even the maid herself only broke through to the Demigod Realm in the end and, with divine might in her swordsmanship, reversed the balance of the field because she noticed that Filly stood with them on the battlefield.

But no perfect ending exists in reality.

Filly’s body grew colder and colder in the maid’s arms. One day later, the Evil God Sect retreated; three days later, the senior Mages returned to the capital; five days later, a torrential rain fell; seven days later, the maid still sat amid the ruins holding Filly’s now-putrid corpse, and no one dared disturb this woman who was perhaps the greatest Legendary of the Alliance—or even of the age.

Yet on the seventh night, under the full moon, a Mage suddenly erupted in a fall to pollution. The maid finally reacted; with a light pat, Filly’s corpse dissolved into Starlight and vanished without a trace.

This girl who, with a Mortal Body, commanded countless Mages, was thus buried beneath the Starry Sky—together with her ideals, the moral Law that did not belong to this era, and her mysterious Talent and learning.
