Mage Manual
Chapter 1791 - 1324: Lost in Passion
Vishi blinked.
"No way. I’m not a child anymore; who still has nightmares?" she said casually.
Ash glanced at her and let go of her hand.
Vishi sighed in relief, sat up, and said, "You must be hungry too, right? Let me prepare some food for you—"
"Vishi."
Ash hugged her waist from behind, rested his chin on her shoulder, and whispered in her ear, "Even though you’re heartless, utterly merciless, cruel and violent, and particularly love to oppose me, at least you have one virtue... You disdain lying."
"Did you forget you used the ruby chain to forbid me from lying?" Vishi retorted.
"Speaking of which, you unlocked the ruby chain, right?" Ash laughed. "Let me guess, it was probably when we were in Senluo that you managed to do it?"
"Did you figure it out?" Vishi was a bit surprised.
"Because that time you deliberately showed you could temporarily resist the chain’s control, judging by my understanding of you, you’d at most reveal a tenth of your cards, meaning you were already able to break free from the chain at that time." Ash giggled, "From then on, what truly bound you was not the chain, but me!"
Vishi pouted and clicked her tongue.
"You’re the least trustworthy Ghost Prophet, but you would most likely omit telling me things, never lie." Ash whispered, "That’s why, no matter what you say, I’ll believe you, like we’ll always be together... Like I like you..."
"I never said that last part."
"Didn’t you just say it?"
"I told you it was a joke."
"Say it again, won’t you?"
"No," Vishi paused, looking down at her thigh between her black stockings and skirt hem, and suddenly said, "It’s not really a nightmare... It’s just that I seemed to dream about you."
"No way!?" Ash seemed genuinely surprised. "Dreaming of me scared you like that? Is your resistance to steamy dreams really that low?"
"Even though you have a good sense of self-awareness, don’t interrupt me," Vishi snapped, "I dreamt... you became an Eight-winged Mage, went upstream along the Flowing Gold River, destroyed all the fragmented timelines, and plundered their brilliance to become your wings."
Ash pondered, "That doesn’t sound like me, it sounds more like you... Oh, I get it, it’s our kid!"
Vishi wasn’t annoyed and continued, "In the end, I saw you about to destroy our world, you reached into my chest and seized my knowledge, my Void Wings, everything radiant about me, turning me into an empty shell, extinguished like a burnt-out lamp... That’s when I woke up."
"No wonder you were so afraid." Ash gently tightened his embrace, "Dreaming of being killed by someone you like is indeed a sad thing."
For the first time, Vishi didn’t argue back, gently murmured an assent, accepting his warmth.
"So you should reflect on yourself, understand?"
Vishi blinked, doubting her ears.
"I should reflect? Shouldn’t you be clarifying your stance here?!"
"But I can’t promise I won’t kill you in the future," Ash said innocently, "If you start slaughtering and Soul Refining again, for love and justice, I might have to act with a heavy heart. But having such nightmares indicates you have good self-awareness—"
Vishi punched him, her eyelashes trembling angrily, gnashing her teeth, she said, "I’ll go back to earth and start slaughtering and Soul Refining, and not a single living creature will be left if you can spot one on the ground—"
"Hey, wait." Ash hurriedly held her back and asked seriously, "Were you using some Wonder to have a prophetic dream, or was it purely a nightmare?"
Vishi shook her head, "I didn’t use any Wonder for a prophetic dream. Actually, it’s strange that I slept; the Six-winged God no longer has the concept of sleep, unless voluntarily to rest the soul, but I fell asleep unknowingly..."
Ash crossed his arms, "I get it, like when I see you sleeping, I also want to cuddle up for a nap."
"You understand shit," Vishi snapped, "It’s abnormal for me to fall asleep like this and dream about Eight wings I’ve never seen... Maybe it’s because I’m the Prophetic Divine Lord, even if I don’t do anything, I can accidentally receive hints from Fate."
Ash pondered and asked, "You dream that I pierced your chest?"
"Uh-huh."
"Like this? Or like this? Or perhaps like this?"
The maid’s mouth twitched slightly, her fist clenched unknowingly, "All those moves are commonly called groping."
"Must be because I haven’t put my hand inside your clothes yet—"
"Ash!" Vishi took a deep breath, "I’m not joking!"
"Nor am I," Ash replied, "I just wanted to feel your heartbeat and then ask again—Do you think I would kill you? And for power, for Eight wings, are you serious?"
Vishi was speechless; anyone else might betray love for power, but Ash never could, for he had undergone too much testing. She retorted stubbornly, "Who knows how you’ll change in the future? You might not be interested in power now, but how can you guarantee you won’t be later?"
"You can guarantee that for me," Ash laughed, "If you find I’m becoming twisted, then betray me and seize my power, because if an apocalyptic Demon King were to appear, I’d rather it be you than me."
"Ah?! "
"But if I don’t become twisted, Vishi, you must keep your promise with me," Ash continued, "Join me in reaching the pinnacle of Magic and see what kind of view is there."
Vishi gazed at him for a while, turned her head, and said, "Don’t casually say someone else’s ideals as if they’re your own..."
"I can’t help it; it’s almost the common goal of the group," Ash spread his hands, "Besides you, Sonia and Silver Lamp also want to climb the magic pinnacle. With you ambitious folks, the witch and I tremble in fear, unable to speak—"
Thump! Vishi suddenly lifted her long, black-stockinged leg and knocked him over, leaving angrily to get out of bed. Ash, lying lazily on the bed, called out, "Where’s the good morning kiss? I get one every time I wake up—"
"Buzz off."
After Vishi’s footsteps faded, Ash slowly sat up. He silently recited "Aurora’s Mage Manual," but naturally, there was no response.
From now on, there was no pre-determined Fate, nor a future to refer to.
The end of the five-person group probably ended together with Uroboros...
Ash felt inexplicably melancholic, but now was not the time for idle sorrow. The Dazzling Star in the Seventh Layer of Void Realm, still hidden Level Six of Hell, operations of Seven Heavens, and Vishi’s prophetic dream... Vishi wasn’t wrong; as the Six-winged Prophetic Divine Lord, the only reason for her dreaming is Dream Sensing Spirit.
Moreover, one thing concerned Ash greatly: he hadn’t detailed the mechanism of devouring the World Snake to Vishi and others, but the ’Eight-winged Mage’ in Vishi’s dream operated like the World Snake, going upstream along the Flowing Gold River, destroying all fragmented timelines.
The only difference was that Vishi dreamt of him, not a serpent.
As he contemplated, Vishi came in carrying milk and bread. Ash’s face immediately fell, "Is this Heaven’s food? It doesn’t even glow..."
"These are our supplies from earth, Heavenly Kingdom currently lacks any ability to produce resources." Vishi snapped, "Besides, we don’t need to eat, but thought you’d feel better if you did have something."
Ash wasn’t picky, took a bite of bread and sipped the milk. Vishi glanced at him and asked, "How is it?"
"The cheese toast is okay, just the milk is cold, warmed up it would be better."
"Such a hassle..."
Vishi snatched the milk cup from Ash’s hand. Ash was startled, about to say he could heat it himself, when he looked up and saw Vishi gulp the milk, then straddle him and cup his face, kissing him.
With the milk warmed by body heat trickling from their mouths onto the sheets, even though they finished drinking shortly, their lips and tongues intertwined, seeking more. After losing four days’ memory, three days of coma, having just shared the most intimate night, then separated for seven days, they naturally ignited like dry tinder into a blazing fire.
When their lips parted, Vishi who should have been on top was under Ash, warm breaths intertwined, traces of milk marked both their lips, Vishi hugged Ash’s neck, her gaze deep and alluring.
"Alright," she whispered softly.
Momentarily lost in the passion, they didn’t notice two heads peeking from the doorway.
"Did we come at the wrong time?" Diya inquired.
"Or could it be the perfect time," Weiser thought aloud, "Either way, we should stop them."
"Why?"
"Because the first isn’t The Sword Maiden..."
"True..."
"What are you watching?"
Diya and Weiser turned, seeing Sonia looking curiously into the bedroom over their shoulders.
