Chapter 220: Chapter 220 Can I consider her something important to him?

Daisy couldn’t hold it in. A soft laugh escaped her, though it was almost soundless and she quickly covered her mouth with one hand. Her eyes squeezed shut for a moment as she tried to regain control.

Alessio’s expression softened when he saw her laughing. His green eyes lingered on her face and a small, almost imperceptible smile appeared on his lips.

Mateo, meanwhile, seemed perfectly satisfied with himself. He looked at Daisy for another second before casually extending the biscuit packet toward her. "Want one?"

Daisy’s eyes dropped to the packet. Then she looked at Mateo. He was holding it out with a completely serious expression.

Daisy smiled. She reached forward and carefully took one.

Mateo nodded in approval. "Good choice."

"Let me show you your room," Alessio said.

Daisy nodded, her fingers briefly tightening around the strap of her bag.

Instead of calling one of the staff members over, Alessio turned and personally led her toward the staircase. Daisy initially followed him without questioning it, but after a few steps, she noticed that he wasn’t actually heading toward the stairs. He changed direction and walked toward a private house lift tucked discreetly into one side of the hallway.

Daisy looked at him curiously.

Alessio noticed her expression and gave a faint smile.

"This way."

He pressed the button, and within moments, the doors slid open.

Daisy stepped inside beside him, her eyes immediately wandering around the small space.

Even the inside of the lift looked far more luxurious than anything she had expected. Soft lights glowed from the ceiling, the walls were finished in elegant wood and stylish metal and there was enough room inside that it almost felt like a tiny private room rather than an ordinary residential lift.

Daisy slowly looked from one side to the other.

Alessio watched her quietly for a moment and the faint amusement in his eyes grew.

"You’ll get used to it."

Daisy turned toward him with an amused expression, as if silently asking whether he genuinely expected her to become accustomed to something like this.

Alessio smiled.

"I know it’s probably a little overwhelming."

Daisy nodded.

She then lifted her hand and gestured toward the mansion below, indicating that despite everything, she actually liked the house.

Alessio’s expression softened immediately.

"You like it?"

Daisy nodded again, this time without hesitation.

"Great."

There was a small note of satisfaction in his voice, as though her liking HIS house somehow mattered more to him than it should have.

The lift continued upward, and Daisy looked at the doors again, still taking everything in.

Alessio stood beside her with his hands casually tucked into his pockets, occasionally glancing at her to make sure she was comfortable.

When the lift finally stopped, the doors opened smoothly.

Alessio stepped out first, then moved slightly to the side and waited for Daisy to come out instead of walking ahead and leaving her to follow him.

Daisy stepped onto the upper floor.

Alessio glanced at her and gestured down the hallway.

"Your room is this way."

She nodded and followed him.

Meanwhile, downstairs, Rafael, Eva and Mateo remained exactly where they were.

For several seconds, none of them spoke.

All three simply stared at the closed lift doors.

Rafael’s eyebrows were still slightly raised, as though he hadn’t quite recovered from what he had just witnessed.

"I was honestly shocked when I found out my brother was bringing Daisy here to stay for a few days."

Mateo looked at him while casually reaching into his biscuit packet.

"Why?"

Rafael slowly turned toward him. "Because our dear brother has never brought a woman into this house before."

Mateo paused with a biscuit halfway to his mouth.

He looked toward the lift.

Then back at Rafael.

"That is true."

He popped the biscuit into his mouth and began chewing thoughtfully before adding, "Can I consider her something important to him?"

Rafael immediately pointed toward the lift. "Obviously."

He folded his arms, looking almost personally offended by how obvious the situation seemed to him.

"Look at what he just did. He personally took her upstairs to show her room."

Mateo raised an eyebrow.

"He could have asked any staff member to do that."

"Exactly!" Rafael’s hand flew toward him.

"He has dozens of staff members here. Dozens. Someone could have shown her the room in five minutes. But no. His Highness himself had to escort her."

Mateo nodded slowly.

"That is suspicious."

Eva, who had been quietly listening to them, smiled. "I don’t think it’s suspicious."

Both brothers turned toward her.

Eva glanced toward the lift before looking back at them.

"I think it’s obvious."

Rafael’s face immediately lit up.

"See? Even my eva understands."

Eva laughed softly and shook her head.

"She seems very sweet. I like her already."

Mateo nodded without hesitation.

"Me too."

Rafael looked at him.

"You liked her after she greeted you and didn’t complain when you were eating biscuits?"

Mateo shrugged.

"She didn’t hit me like you and bro."

Eva burst into laughter.

Rafael stared at him in disbelief.

"Your standards are extremely low."

Mateo calmly took another biscuit."They’re very realistic."

Rafael opened his mouth, then decided there was no point arguing with that.

Eva’s attention drifted back toward the lift. "Honestly, I think Daisy suits Alessio."

Rafael’s grin returned immediately. "I’ve been saying that."

"She seems gentle," Eva continued, her voice thoughtful. "And she doesn’t seem uncomfortable around him. That’s what I noticed."

Mateo nodded.

"She’s comfortable with Brother."

"Exactly," Eva said. "And Alessio seems different around her too."

Rafael gave a knowing little smile. "Much different."

Mateo looked at him.

"How?"

Rafael glanced toward the lift again.

"He notices everything she does..."

"...He notices when she’s tired, when she’s uncomfortable, what she likes, what she doesn’t like..." Rafael counted the examples off on his fingers before smiling. "And now he’s personally taking her to her room."

Eva smiled. "Maybe he just wants her to feel welcome."

Rafael nodded.

"Of course."

He paused. Then his smile became wider. "And maybe he also wants to make sure she knows exactly which room is his."

Eva laughed.

"Rafaeeel."
