Mafia Lord's Mute Sweetheart
Chapter 133 She’s my wife
Chapter 133: Chapter 133 She’s my wife
Across the corridor, Cedric stared at Alessio’s hand resting protectively around Daisy’s arm.
His vision reddened. Something snapped inside him.
"Take your hands off her."
His voice was dangerously quiet.
Alessio ignored him. He was checking Daisy’s scraped palm.
"Cedric!" Jessica called, but he no longer heard her.
"LET HER GO!"
The shout echoed through the restaurant.
Daisy flinched again.
Cedric stepped forward. His eyes never left Alessio.
"I said... let... her... go."
Alessio slowly stood. His body instinctively shifted, shielding Daisy behind him.
"You pushed her."
His green eyes became glacial.
"You don’t deserve to raise your voice at her."
Cedric laughed bitterly. "Deserve? She’s my wife. I don’t need your permission."
His gaze moved past Alessio.
"Daisy. Come here."
His voice was firm. "Now."
Daisy looked frozen. Her tear-filled eyes moved between the two men.
Alessio glanced down at her. He said nothing. He wouldn’t make the choice for her.
Cedric spoke again. "Daisy. I’m your husband. Come to me." His tone hardened. "Or forget this marriage."
Daisy’s heart trembled.
Slowly, she looked up at Alessio.
Their eyes met.
For a brief moment, he gave her the smallest nod.
With trembling legs, she slowly walked toward Cedric.
The moment she came close enough, Cedric wrapped an arm firmly around her waist, pulling her against his side.
His eyes remained fixed on Alessio. Almost challenging him.
Then, deliberately, he lowered his head and pressed a kiss against Daisy’s forehead.
Daisy stiffened. Her fingers unconsciously curled into her dress.
She didn’t pull away but she didn’t respond either.
Across from them, Alessio’s jaw clenched so tightly it hurt. The veins along his forearm became visible.
He had an overwhelming urge to drag Daisy away from that man. To make Cedric answer for every tear she had shed.
But he couldn’t. She had still walked to her husband when he called her to his side.
Cedric held Alessio’s gaze for another second before turning away.
"Let’s go."
Without another word, he led Daisy down the corridor.
Halfway to the exit, Daisy couldn’t stop herself.
She looked back.
Their eyes met one last time.
Her own were red and full of apology.
Alessio remained exactly where he was. Silent and motionless, watching her disappear.
Jessica glanced once at Alessio before answering a call from her friend.
"Yeah... I’m coming."
Without another thought, she walked away in the opposite direction.
Soon, only Alessio remained standing in the corridor.
His hands slowly curled into fists.
His chest felt unbearably tight. It was as if someone had reached inside and placed his heart over an open flame.
He looked down and saw the small shopping bag containing leftover cake fallen on the floor. He picked it up and looked dazed.
Her cheesecake.
She had been so happy about it. So excited to eat it later.
And now she was gone.

Meanwhile...
The moment they reached the parking area, Cedric’s patience finally snapped.
He opened the rear door of the black sedan with more force than necessary.
"Get in."
His voice was cold and sharp, leaving no room for argument.
Daisy hesitated for only a second before quietly climbing into the back seat. Her movements were small and careful, as if she was trying to make herself as invisible as possible.
The instant she settled into her seat, Cedric followed after her and shut the door with a heavy thud. The sound echoed through the quiet parking lot harshly.
The driver immediately glanced at them through the rearview mirror. "Sir?"
"Drive."
"Yes, sir."
The car pulled away smoothly from the restaurant. The engine hummed softly and the city lights began to blur past the tinted windows.
Silence settled inside the luxurious cabin.
Streetlights slid across the tinted windows one after another, briefly illuminating Daisy’s pale face before disappearing into the night. Each flash of light revealed her tight expression, her hands clasped in her lap, her knuckles white.
Cedric sat beside her closely. His jaw remained tightly clenched, his eyes fixed on the passing city outside. His hands rested on his knees but his fingers were curled into fists.
He had never felt this angry.
The image of Daisy smiling beside Alessio refused to leave his mind. The way she had looked relaxed around him. The way Alessio had naturally protected her. The way she had instinctively stood behind him.
Every memory made his blood boil.
Finally, he turned toward her.
"Look, Daisy."
His voice was low but carried unmistakable restraint. He was trying to control himself. Trying not to shout.
"I know I haven’t been able to give you everything you wanted."
He paused, his blue eyes locking onto hers.
"But before getting close to some random man... you should have talked to me first."
Daisy’s eyes widened immediately. She shook her head over and over, her caramel hair swaying with the motion.
She hurriedly pulled her phone from her bag. Her fingers trembled as she typed.
He’s just my friend.
She turned the phone toward Cedric.
He barely glanced at the words. His gaze returned to her face instead.
"...Friend?"
He let out a humorless laugh. "You expect me to believe that?"
Daisy nodded earnestly.
Yes.
He really was just her friend. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Cedric’s expression remained unreadable.
Slowly, he leaned closer. The distance between them shrank until only a few inches remained.
His fingers gently, yet firmly, lifted her chin.
"Look at me."
His blue eyes searched hers, as though trying to find the truth hidden inside those glassy dark eyes.
Daisy’s heartbeat quickened. Her breath caught in her throat.
Still trapped by his grip, she awkwardly raised one hand and gestured.
He’s only a friend...
Cedric couldn’t understand her signs.
Instead, his gaze slowly drifted downward. To her soft and pink lips. Slightly parted from nervous breathing.
His own breathing unconsciously slowed.
Almost without realizing it, he leaned closer.
Closer.
There was barely the width of a finger between their lips.
Just as he was about to kiss her, Daisy instinctively turned her face away.
His lips brushed against her silky hair instead.
Cedric froze.
A delicate floral fragrance lingered there, clean and soft, wrapping around him unexpectedly.
He closed his eyes for the briefest moment. The scent made him feel something deep inside him.
When he opened his eyes again, Daisy was still turned away from him, avoiding his gaze completely.
For reasons he couldn’t explain, that hurt more than he expected.
