Those deep eyes, as if holding a universe of stars, always appeared calm and composed, with an air of transcendent detachment and indifference.

It seemed as if nothing in the world had anything to do with him, and very few things could attract his attention or make him pause.

The doctors surrounded him, while Yu Yan wrote something rapidly in her notebook, conversing with the person on the bed.

He’s really awake... Qiao Nian felt her heart settle, a kind of indescribable relaxation spread through her whole body, as if the tension held for days suddenly released, soothing her nerves.

"Okay." Qiao Nian placed one hand in her pocket and started to head back, speaking briefly, "I’ll be back soon."

It was at that moment Ye Lan noticed Mo Xi appearing behind her, accompanied by a dignified and proud elderly woman, likely Qiao Nian’s grandmother.

Pretending not to see, Ye Lan exchanged a few more words with Qiao Nian before ending the call.

Qiao Nian waited until the call was disconnected, then casually put her phone away and stepped back in front of the two people.

Qiao Nian gave Mo Xi a nod and prepared to leave.

Before walking away, she caught a glimpse of Nie Qingru’s arrogant and pretentious demeanor and turned back, seemingly inadvertently saying: "By the way, you might not know yet."
