Chapter 441 - Yan Jinyi’s Stunt Double
Chapter 441: Chapter 441: Yan Jinyi’s Stunt Double
Having learned their lesson since the previous incident, the staff members of TG Entertainment were much more polite to Yan Jinyi when they saw her this time.
Yan Jinyi headed straight to the artiste management department. As soon as she exited the elevator, she heard the sounds of glass shattering coming from the deputy director’s office.
‘Huh?’
Being curious and impulsive by nature, Yan Jinyi tiptoed over to see that the door of the office was left slightly ajar so she happened to be able the hear the conversation of the people inside.
“You have just debuted and you have gained so many fans, Yan Jinyi is no match for you. Okay, okay, stop crying. I believe you will soon be able to get rid of the title ‘Little Yan Jinyi’.”
‘Little Yan Jinyi? What Little Yan Jinyi?’
Yan Jinyi walked closer and peeked through the crack to see the people inside.
It was a man and two women.
She had met the man before. He was the deputy director of the artiste department of TG Entertainment while one of the other two women was about her age and dresses very similar to her. Even Yan Jinyi thought that she had seen her doppelganger.
The other woman looked to be in her thirties and had done a good job at maintaining her youthful looks. She was seated beside the young woman and comforting her.
“At that time, I refused to debut with that title precisely because of this. From now on, everyone will treat me as Yan Jinyi’s shadow and doppelganger but I’m not! How am I inferior to her in any way? I, Yao Xin, have at least graduated from a professional arts academy!”
‘So her name is Yao Xin! Never heard of her.’
The other woman was obviously Yao Xin’s manager. She said, “Well, it’s just unfortunate that you debuted later than Yan Jinyi. The deputy director is so keen on grooming you precisely because he thinks you can replace Yan Jinyi someday. Rest assured, I heard that that woman is very arrogant and very few people in the company like her.”
“That’s right,” the deputy director chimed in. “Yao Xin, it’s only a matter of time before you surpass Yan Jinyi. Think about it, when the news is all about little Yan Jinyi surpassing Yan Jinyi herself, won’t you feel even more glorious and dignified?”
Yao Xin immediately smiled haughtily. “Deputy director, you’re right, it’s only a matter of time before I surpass Yan Jinyi.”
Yan Jinyi finally understood. This newcomer called Yao Xin had gained lots of fans and popularity by debuting as ‘Little Yan Jinyi’, probably because her appearance was somewhat similar to Yan Jinyi.
In the entertainment industry, it was common for newcomers to be promoted as the lookalikes of certain popular celebrities but very few could surpass the latter.
‘Are the three of them retarded? I’ve only starred as the female lead in one movie and the little fame that I have now is due to all the hate that I get on the Internet. I haven’t won any accolades yet and they’re already so eager to replace me?’
Yan Jinyi folded her arms and was just about to go in but someone called out to her. Thus, she stopped in her tracks.
“Jinyi, it turns out that you’re here. Great, let’s go inside, I have something to tell you.”
It was Zhao Feng, the artiste director whom Yan Jinyi had met once or twice before and was quite familiar with.
“Director Zhao.” Yan Jinyi greeted him politely.
Zhao Feng knew that Huo Zihang took special care of Yan Jinyi so he was very polite to her.
“Let’s go in, I’d like to introduce you to someone.”
The three people inside the room heard the sounds outside and had stopped talking.
When Yan Jinyi entered, she finally saw Yao Xin in person. The first thing Yao Xin did was to size Yan Jinyi up and scrutinize her outfit. Seeing that Yan Jinyi was dressed in limited edition designer wear from head to toe, she pursed her lips and was full of jealousy.
“Jinyi, this is Yao Xin, a new artiste who has just been signed to our agency. Recently, she starred in a campus-themed web drama series that rose to popularity. Many netizens call her ‘Little Yan Jinyi’ because she resembles you and has trained in traditional martial arts since she was a child,” Zhao Feng said as he began the introduction.
‘Trained in traditional martial arts since she was a child? Do people of this era truly know what traditional martial arts are?’
