Lust Dominion: The Ultimate Harem System
Chapter 109: Turning Point 2
The pale man materialized out of the whiteness the way a stain spreads through water.
No footsteps. No door. One moment the void held only Kai, the chair, and the soft wrong Earth body. The next, *he* was there.
Everything about him was white. Skin, hair, eyes with no pupils, clothes that were not quite clothes. He was naked in the way a concept is naked — present, without the details that make a body real. His smile was wide and perfectly curved. No teeth showed. The expression sat on his face like it had been painted there and left forever.
Kai stared.
His heart hammered against soft, familiar ribs. A nervous wreck in a place with no shadows to hide in.
Same smile. Same white. Same void.
The man stared back.
Kai’s eyes widened.
"HELLO THERE," the pale man said, bright as a cracked bell. "WELCOME TO THE LAST STOP OF YOUR LIFE."
Kai blinked.
"...Huh?"
The man laughed. The painted smile barely moved.
"Kidding. Kidding, of course."
He lifted a white hand to a white face, contemplative, almost theatrical.
"It’s been a while since the last person came to the Supreme Realm. I see..." A pause, as if reading a label Kai could not see. "So you are... beta."
Kai could not wrap his head around any of it.
The last time he had been in a place like this, the white thing in front of him had barely spoken. Kai had crashed out — furious, chained, spilling garbage years and a second chance he thought was being stolen — and the only real sentence that stayed was a whisper against his ear. Want to change? Then the street. The blood. The System screaming through his skull.
Now this.
Jokes. Labels. A voice doing hospitality in a void.
Kai’s fingers dug into the chair arms. He fidgeted, throat tight, and forced a question out because silence was worse.
"...Are you God?"
"Hm?"
The pale man looked at him properly.
For a while he only looked — pupil-less white eyes holding Kai the way a collector holds something that has finally walked into the correct room.
"That’s not the best term," he said at last. "But let’s just say, at least for now... yeah."
At least for now?
Kai’s thoughts stumbled.
What does that mean. Why am I here again. I paid two thousand Desire Points for a mystery door and got a white smile with a comedy routine. I want a manager.
He swallowed.
"What... is this place?"
"This is the Supreme Realm," the man said. "Well. A part of it, at least. Where souls meet. Where everything is connected down to the last bit."
He spread his hands a fraction, as if showing a modest apartment.
"I am Progonos. Ruler of this place and beyond. Welcome, human, to this world."
Kai stared at him.
Progonos.
A name. A title. A smile that still had not shown teeth.
Ruler of this place and beyond. Talks like a tutorial that got promoted. Looks like someone designed a god using only the color white and a permanent grin.
"Human," Kai repeated carefully. "That’s... specific."
Progonos’s head tipped.
"Should I have said something else?"
"I don’t know. Most people who yank me into white voids are lighter on the labels."
"Yank is a strong word." Progonos sounded mildly offended, which was almost funny. "You selected the door. You paid the price. You fainted on your own bed. I merely received you."
Kai’s jaw worked.
"The shop called it Supreme Realm. It didn’t mention a receptionist."
"I am not a receptionist."
"Could’ve fooled me."
Progonos’s smile held. If anything, it seemed pleased that the specimen talked back.
Kai tried another angle, because angles were all he had.
"You talk like you’ve been expecting someone."
"I talk like the Realm does not open for tourists," Progonos replied. "Entry leaves a shape. Yours is messy. Hungry. Recently expensive." His head tilted again. "Also familiar in a way that is not local."
Kai’s skin prickled.
"...Not local."
"Mm."
"Meaning."
Progonos waggled a white finger, almost playful.
"Souls leave fingerprints. Most of the ones I meet are woven in this world’s thread from the start. Yours still carries another room’s dust." He paused. "Another sky. Another set of bad hallways."
Kai went still.
The void felt colder without temperature.
"...You know about Earth."
"More or less."
"How."
"Because you arrived wearing it," Progonos said simply. "Not on your face. Under it. Reincarnated residue is obvious if you have watched enough of it pass through."
The word landed.
Reincarnated.
Kai’s mouth went dry.
He had not said it.
He had not offered it.
The white man had simply plucked it out of him like a coin from behind an ear.
"You’re saying you can tell," Kai managed.
"I am saying I have eyes." Progonos’s tone stayed light. "And you have a System that only attaches cleanly to certain kinds of arrivals. Which brings us to the practical part."
Kai’s head lifted slowly.
"Practical."
"You have been using a tool," Progonos said. "Hungry thing. Counts wanting like coin. Menus. Locks. Thresholds. Very recognizable to someone from a world that loves interfaces."
The implication closed around Kai without needing a speech.
"...You gave me the System."
Progonos inclined his head, as if Kai had finally stepped onto the correct stair.
"As a reincarnated human being, yes. I granted you the System. The Lust System. Desire, if you prefer prettier language."
Kai stared at him.
The bank. The shop. The two thousand lock. The claim marks. The penalties that had shoved Sera into his life and the academy into his path.
"It has been useful, yes?" Progonos asked.
"...Yeah." Kai’s voice roughened. "Though it would’ve been better if you didn’t set up this stupid rule of two thousand DP before the shop."
Progonos sounded almost fond.
"A man must learn to fish on his own. Only then can he truly enjoy fishing. If the fish is already served on a plate, he will never come to appreciate you essence of fishing."
Weird example, Kai thought, but okay.
He exhaled through his nose.
"So there have been others. From Earth."
"Oh yes. Several times." Casual as weather. "Though the last one died about two hundred years ago. You are probably the only one currently."
*Probably.*
Kai’s eye twitched.
Dude. Aren’t you basically God. Why is your inventory soft on the word "probably."
"Oh," Kai said aloud, carefully blank. "I see."
Progonos took one step closer. The void did not echo.
"Kai. I will let straight to the point."
Here we go..
"There are entities in this world who seek to disturb the balance between the living world and the Supreme Realm. By toppling over this place."
"Entities?"
"Mortals. Immortals alike. Though no one has ever reached this place in their true physical form."
He spoke without hurry, lecturer and salesman in one painted face.
"The System will help you even more from now on. You won’t be able to enter this place for a while. I can, however, voluntarily make you enter — by appearing in your dreams."
Kai’s mind hunted for the hook under the bait.
Progonos continued,
"I will help you, so you can live a fulfilling life. Without regrets, unlike your past one."
A pause.
"And you will help me with some minor stuff."
Minor stuff.
There it was.
Quest log. Fine print. A white concept-man offering me a clean life in exchange for chores. Is this real. Am I seriously negotiating employment in a void.
Suspicion sat cold and useful in his chest.
"And if I refuse?"
Progonos shrugged.
"That’s your choice. I’m not forcing your options. Even if you refuse, I won’t take the System away from you."
Kai’s mouth flattened.
"How generous of you, god of kindness."
Dry. Flat. The best armor he had.
Progonos’s smile twitched. He lifted a white finger and tapped his own forehead in a mocking little salute, as if applauding the sarcasm.
Kai sighed.
Tired. Cornered. Interested against his will.
"...Alright. What do you want me to do?"
"Currently? Nothing." Progonos folded his hands behind his back. "My instructions will be given to you by the System, as they always have been."
Kai went still.
For a full second his mind blanked, then filled with every locked door the panel had ever thrown at him.
"...But the System," he said slowly. "The System said I’d have unavoidable consequences if I didn’t get a second woman. Sera. And if I didn’t go to this academy."
His eyes narrowed.
"You seem a lot kinder for someone who’s been blackmailing me."
Progonos stared at him.
The painted smile did not soften. The voice did — only slightly.
"I can assure you, Kai. That was for your own good. I have lived for over a millennium. I know what’s good and what’s not. And I have played games with System players before."
Kai did not fully believe him.
Belief was expensive. He had spent too many years buying anesthesia with people don’t change to purchase trust from a white smile in a void.
But he gave in anyway — the same way he had answered once before in a place like this, the same way he had pressed Supreme Realm with a full bank and a stupid, desperate hope.
Progonos turned, hands still behind his back, and walked a few steps into the white. The air thinned, a dream preparing to end. Waking tugged at the soft Earth body, at the chair, at the edges of the void.
Kai still did not trust him.
Complaint was a form of breathing.
"By the way," Kai said.
Progonos turned.
Kai held that pupil-less gaze and threw the last stone he had, almost casually, like testing a tooth that still hurt.
"You seemed a lot more talkative for someone who said three words in our first meeting."
Progonos’s face changed.
Genuine confusion. An eyebrow lifting on a face that had not seemed built for surprise.
"What are you talking about?"
---
Kai woke.
Cell nine. Night. Bram’s breathing on the other bed, rough and ordinary. The slit window held one terrace light like a pin in black cloth. Sweat cooled on Kai’s temple. The Supreme Realm left a toll in his limbs, a hollow tremor under the ribs.
He did not chase the last expression.
Not yet.
He pulled the System, hands clumsy.
[Desire Points: 0]
[DP Marketplace: Unlocked]
[Supreme Realm: Closed]
Zero.
Shop still there.
Realm shut like a mouth.
Kai let the panel fade and dropped back into the mattress, staring at scratched ceiling rock.
Outside, the academy kept its sleeping hierarchies. Somewhere above, Silvers dreamed in better air. Somewhere close, Lira and Sera existed with claim marks and stubborn lives. Somewhere deeper than stone, a white smile had called him beta, offered minor stuff, and looked honestly puzzled at a history Kai thought they shared.
Kai closed his eyes.
Sleep took him before he could decide whether people don’t change had just been argued with by a god who claimed he was only god for now.
