Love You for the Rest of My Life
Chapter 2631: It's Not That I Don't Trust You, It's That I Know You Too Well
“So you’re saying if I still like you when we grow up, then we’ll be together?” Yimo asked, slightly narrowing his eyes, his voice a bit chilly.
Nangong Xiao was a bit taken aback by the question, instinctively furrowing her brows. She wanted to tell him it’s impossible, that perhaps their different generations were a gap they couldn’t bridge, but she felt if she said those things, Yimo would surely have a lot to argue about.
Might as well humor him for now, anyway, Yimo is still young, and by the time he grows up, she’ll probably be getting married!
Yes, that’s it.
Thinking this, Nangong Xiao looked up at Yimo, nodded, and replied, “Yeah, that’s right.”
“Really?” Yimo raised an eyebrow, actually finding it hard to believe, because Nangong Xiao was also a quirky girl. For her to suddenly say this, suddenly agree so quickly, there must be a trick to it!
Was it just an excuse?
A temporary excuse, right.
“Really, really!” Faced with Yimo’s retort, Nangong Xiao hurriedly nodded her head like a pecking chicken, afraid he wouldn’t believe her.
But despite her seemingly very sincere attitude, Yimo still looked doubtful.
“You don’t believe me?” Nangong Xiao shot her eyes sideways, starting to find fault.
Yimo hesitated for a moment, his handsome face maintaining calm, decisively denying, “No.”
“No, my foot! Your expression betrays you!” Nangong Xiao seized the opportunity to dramatize, almost instantly taking on the role of a drama queen.
“Really not.” Yimo’s still somewhat childish face flashed a trace of helplessness, but his eyes carried a hint of doting, his seriousness slightly immature.
This made Nangong Xiao’s eyebrows suddenly furrow, not knowing why the hint of doting in his eyes suddenly made her heart race, an indescribable feeling.
It felt like her heart had jumped to the clouds and then fallen back down.
Nangong Xiao’s whole demeanor shifted, averting her gaze awkwardly, “You’re just pretending; you don’t believe me!”
“Why claim to like me if you don’t believe me?” Nangong Xiao took this chance to say, thinking she might as well throw a little tantrum and stir things up.
Yimo’s eyebrows tightened.
“That’s why I don’t believe you like me!” Nangong Xiao glared at him.
Yimo’s brows furrowed even tighter, unconsciously parting his thin lips to ask, “Did I ever say I liked you?”
Nangong Xiao’s eyes widened, suddenly at a loss for words, “Oh crap!”
Seems like he never really said it!
This sudden awkwardness made Nangong Xiao’s face inexplicably flush.
Yet Yimo said, “Besides, I didn’t say I don’t believe you, but Nangong Xiao, are you really sincere when you say we’ll talk about it when we grow up? Isn’t it just an excuse?”
Faced with such a direct question, Nangong Xiao did feel a bit embarrassed.
But once the arrow is on the bowstring, it must shoot; having said it, is there any room for denial?
Nangong Xiao thought, might as well admit it now, who knows how many years until the future anyway.
We can’t even know what will happen tomorrow, let alone future years.
Thinking this, Nangong Xiao decisively raised her brows, “Of course I’m sincere, why would I lie to you? Moreover, Yimo, doubting what I say means you don’t trust me!”
“It’s not that I don’t believe you, it’s that I know you too well.” Yimo suddenly reached out his hand, tidying the hair on her forehead and gently patting her head.
