Love You for the Rest of My Life

Chapter 2527 - 2528: The Blanket Was Snatched Away

After brushing her teeth, Gu Mian didn’t ask him to wash her face because she wanted to use facial cleanser.

Just as she finished washing her face and was drying it off, she heard Nangong Yue say, "I’ve got the footbath ready for you. Come wash your feet."

Gu Mian raised an eyebrow and, without hesitation, sat down to soak her feet.

Nangong Yue stood by the side like a little wife.

After washing her feet, Gu Mian left first, and only then did Nangong Yue start fiddling with his own routine.

By the time he went out, Gu Mian was already half-asleep, lying on the bed with her eyes half-closed.

Nangong Yue changed into his pajamas and got into bed, not daring to disturb Gu Mian. He carefully reached out to turn off the light, saying, "Time to sleep."

Gu Mian opened her eyes and, as if talking to herself, said, "My mom asked me to go on a blind date."

Nangong Yue was so shocked by this that he almost blew up, but before he could ask, Gu Mian continued, "I agreed, I’m going on a blind date tomorrow."

For some reason, although Nangong Yue initially wanted to get angry, the fire within him suddenly extinguished, as if he couldn’t muster it.

He originally wanted to question, "You’re married, why are you going on a blind date? Can’t you tell your mom that you’re married to me!"

Yet, these words couldn’t come out; they turned into a feeling of helplessness.

"Yeah, got it." He finally responded, then stopped talking.

Gu Mian waited a long time but didn’t hear his next word, feeling a bit miffed, though she didn’t know exactly why.

Gu Mian snuggled into the bed, yanking the blanket, "Sleep!"

Nangong Yue remained silent. After a while, he cautiously tugged the blanket, seemingly because Gu Mian had pulled so hard that he was left without one.

Despite it being May and not very cold, nights still required a blanket.

Without a blanket, he couldn’t fall asleep easily.

Actually, Gu Mian wasn’t asleep either; she just felt him tugging the blanket gently, as if he was very careful, like a little wife who had suffered grievance.

Gu Mian frowned, annoyed, and yanked the blanket, wrapping herself in it, like a SpongeBob. Meanwhile, Nangong Yue had only a small corner of the blanket, barely enough to cover his stomach.

Nangong Yue: "..."

Nangong Yue was almost dying of frustration; it was indeed a bit cold, and not having a blanket made him feel insecure and uncomfortable.

"Xiaomian?" Nangong Yue mumbled after being frustrated for a while, trying to call her, yet not daring to forcibly tug the blanket from her.

Gu Mian didn’t reply, pretending to be asleep.

After more than a minute, seeing Gu Mian not answering, Nangong Yue cautiously poked her and called again, "Xiaomian..."

Gu Mian still didn’t respond.

Two more minutes passed, and Nangong Yue called again, "Honey..."

Gu Mian suddenly froze, for some reason feeling like laughing.

But she still didn’t answer him.

Staring at the ceiling, Nangong Yue blinked, finally resigned, got up to go to the walk-in closet, and brought back another blanket.

...

After lying down, neither of them fell asleep easily, but they still drifted off unconsciously, without conversation.

Because it was the weekend, Gu Mian woke up but decided to go back to sleep for a bit since it was the weekend.

Her sleep was especially sweet, but suddenly it was interrupted by her phone ringing.

Gu Mian sleepily opened her eyes, searching for her phone, inadvertently bumping into the bleary Nangong professor.

"Is it your phone?" Nangong Yue scratched his head, with a look of having not fully woken up, having struggled to sleep until almost five in the morning.

"Yeah." Gu Mian also nodded sleepily, searching for her phone. She hadn’t slept well either, yawning until three or four in the morning before finally dozing off.
