Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming!
Chapter 1560 Such an Obvious Cover-Up...
"I’ve already asked a friend to inquire about it. It’s difficult. Riveredge Middle School’s elementary department is the best primary school in City C. To transfer into Riveredge Middle School requires waiting for an update. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll find another way," Lydia Brooke’s voice was somewhat somber.
Riveredge Middle School is a place where countless people sharpen their wits to get in. Anyone who manages to transfer mid-way is either rich or noble. Though she’s already tapped connections, she was told that if it was any other school, entry would be immediate. Riveredge Middle School doesn’t guarantee admission.
While the two were talking, the doorbell rang.
"You have breakfast, I’ll get the door," Lydia Brooke instructed.
Derek Brooke watched Lydia Brooke turn to open the door. Knowing fully well who was outside, he curled a faint smile on his lips and leisurely sipped his milk.
As Lydia Brooke opened the door and saw the two figures, big and small, standing there, she was completely dumbfounded.
"Why are you here?" Lydia Brooke said coldly to Jorge Saxton.
Without waiting for Jorge Saxton’s response to Lydia Brooke’s aloofness, Iris Seys beside him made a pitiful face and looked at Lydia Brooke with pleading eyes, "Sister Lydia, I’m really hungry. Do you have anything to eat? I haven’t had breakfast yet."
Seeing Iris Seys’s tearful face looking so pitiful, Lydia Brooke’s heart softened instantly, and she opened the door, "Come in, we have food. We’re just having breakfast."
"Thank you, Sister Lydia," Iris Seys immediately darted into Lydia Brooke’s house.
Lydia Brooke looked at Jorge Saxton, "Why bring the child if she hasn’t eaten? How can you treat your niece like this? Jorge Saxton, how do you take care of children?"
Jorge Saxton nodded sincerely, accepting the criticism, "I haven’t had breakfast either."
After speaking, Jorge Saxton sidestepped Lydia Brooke, who was blocking the entrance, and brushed past her.
"..."
This man was certainly unreserved, wasn’t he?
Walking into her house so casually and decisively as if they were familiar.
Now that they were inside, Lydia Brooke had no choice but to accept it, closed the living room’s door, and walked in.
"Sister Lydia, your breakfast is really delicious!" Iris Seys was genuinely hungry, eating big bites while praising.
Lydia Brooke remained stern towards Jorge Saxton, but couldn’t keep a dour face against Iris Seys, thanks to her experience as a mother, making her more forgiving and affectionate towards children.
Noticing Iris Seys devouring her food, Lydia Brooke immediately poured a glass of milk and handed it to her, advising, "Eat slowly; if it’s not enough, I’ll make more. Have some sandwiches and milk."
"Thank you, Sister Lydia," Iris Seys beamed sweetly.
"How many days have you not eaten?" Derek Brooke chuckled, looking at Iris Seys.
Iris Seys just then noticed the boy around her age per her uncle’s earlier intimation, leaving her a bit dazed.
Handsome indeed, but the height... Is he really around her age? Eight years old? Why is he much taller!
"My name is Iris Seys, what’s yours?"
"My name is Derek..."
"Derek, eat your breakfast," Lydia Brooke suddenly interrupted Derek Brooke, with a tinge of panic, glancing sidelong at Jorge Saxton engrossed in his meal, her palms cold with sweat.
Such obvious concealment—
Derek Brooke glanced at his mother, smiled gently, then shifted his gaze to Jorge Saxton with added intrigue.
"I’m Derek, nice to meet you," Derek Brooke withheld his surname and smiled while replying to Iris Seys.
Iris Seys nodded towards Derek Brooke, and continued to devour her breakfast, "Sister Lydia’s breakfast is really good. Don’t you agree, Uncle?"
Mentioned, Jorge Saxton slowly and indifferently replied with two words: "It’s okay."
