"Just so you know, I’ve been in the hospital taking care of a patient these past few days, not messing around. His heart is in bad shape, and I’m the surgeon, so I had to stay until his condition stabilized."

"Save that explanation for tomorrow with godfather."

Nicole smiled as she turned and entered the kitchen. When she came out again, she had a bowl of soup in her hand, "Joshua, I’m heading upstairs."

Joshua followed her up the stairs, teasing as he noticed the soup in her hand, "Oh ho, you two are getting along well, huh? Staying up late to warm him soup, such a good wife and mother."

Nicole rolled her eyes at Joshua, "Go upstairs and sleep. With so much talk, will anyone even want to marry you in the future?!"

Nicole carried the herbal soup towards Jose’s room and just as she knocked on the door, Joshua, who had opened a nearby door, stopped in surprise, "Sister Nicole! Wait!" He hurried over to her, "So you guys have been sharing a bed for a while now, Sister Nicole. Just be careful with his trashy mom, your body is your own, and as for kids..." Joshua hesitated, as if recalling something, and his long fingers slipped a package from his pocket into Nicole’s hand, grinning mischievously.
