Chapter 1990: Knowing the Attitude, One Knows the Heart

Death Monarch returns this time…. his apparent neglect of the war in Pandemonium…. that what rattled the others.

The others refer to the other high realm being on Earth

It rattled Raymond.

Raymond did not say much to him before sending him to the World Government, but he did have the chance to meet Jesse.

Jesse is one of Raymond strongest allies and also one of his most influential subordinates in the World Government.

Even more so after Hikigaya and Oreki withdrew from the World Government

Jesse told him that Raymond is concerned. Jesse then says the things that Raymond did not say to him

And that is the war on Pandemonium, the civil war that has been going on, and the apparent neglect of the war by Death Monarch….that was the real reason why the World Government should pay attention to it

Not because there is a war, but because Death Monarch did not care about it. That is the reason for them to care

At that time, Nick did not understand why. But then Jesse told him the reason, and he felt chills all over.

What scares Raymond was that Death Monarch did not show himself, and even seem to be the one orchestrating this war

The reason why all the powerful beings obey Death Monarch is not only because he is the strongest among them, it is also because Death Monarch while he has some idiosyncrasies, he had some lines he would not cross.

He is protective of his own and most of the time he will stop people from killing if he has the strength to stop it and if he wanted it

It did not mean that he would not kill.

He would kill but there is always a reason for the killing.

And if he could stop it, he would.

He did not interfere in private grudges because private grudges are the hardest to solve, right and wrong are hard to determine

But most of the time, when Death Monarch started to kill, there is a reason for it.

It is the same when he killed Budiman and when he killed those people who tries to kill him

There are also times when he kills a group of people as a deterrent.

One could even say with someone as powerful as Death Monarch, the fact that he could constrain his desire to this level is already virtuous.

Some people, when they have such power, could not help but let every desire they had before, good or bad, unleashed to the world

And most people had seen this happen during the initial years of the Fall.

But Death Monarch most of the time did not indulge in his desire.

He is never reported to abduct woman and torture them, he never kills an entire city or nation, he never did anything that one could labeled as entirely abhorrent on Earth

Of course, they did not know what happened in some of Azief other adventures like his adventure in Earth 39

But for his image on Earth, he is seen more as protector and that image grew stronger after the formation of the Seven World Power.

The formation of the seven world powers itself was Death Monarch desire to protect the world.

It was Death Monarch acknowledging his responsibility as one of the strongest people in the world.

And it was from this moment that the World Government tried to ease up the relationship. Death Monarch at that time is already the strongest person in the world and his cause also seems to align with the World Government

The way they wanted to achieve it might be different, but the result is the same

Order in the world, peace for generations.

But now, Death Monarch action makes Raymond unsettled.

Nick does not understand the battle of wits or the schemes and plots of these great figures of the world.

If there is a threat to the facility, the hills would move and reveal their massive hulking figure

Large powerful golem.

Each one possesses the strength of Disk Formation realm.

This golem might not be able to control the elements but as for pure physical power, it could match up to Disk Formation realm.

And the golem is actually the second step of the protection measure of the facility.

There is other protection measure.

Nick knows this because Jesse told him.

If Jesse did not tell him about this, how dare he come here without insurance?

It is because he knows there are golems made by Raymond outside the facility he dares to come

Why would he be afraid?

Because Hirate might not kill him but sometimes not killing someone did not mean you could not harm them.

Hirate method has never been about killing. The scariest thing about Hirate is his ability to probe into other people’s minds.

Before he came here, Nick had bathed in a magic spring to cleanse his body and mind, and then he met someone to scramble his memories when being viewed and even put some kind of chemical inside his body to make sure that if Hirate does try to peer into his memories, the body would jerk because of the magic reaction.

The entire thing was complicated and time consuming, but he did it anyway.

He is not like Raymond, Jean, Death Monarch, and those two sages who could ignore Hirate mind reading power.

He is ultimately still only a Disk Formation realm.

And even though Hirate is also a Disk Formation realm, the field they are in are quite different

In a long-range battle, Nick only needs to bring out his trusted sniper, and he could attack Hirate and headshot him before he could even realize him

But in terms of ability to mess with the mind, Nick knows nothing about it.

Because he knows nothing about it, he is defenseless.

And being defenseless around Mind Master…is not a good position to be
