Chapter 1959: Ism

“All because no one wanted to go fight. The world is big, and they are still reeling from the last war. Not only the world is big, and you can hide, there is also the fact that they need to at least recuperate and get their bearing first before they even attempt to destabilize the world”

Sighing, Ahmad continues saying

“If they acknowledge it, then the people below them would all clamor to fight”

“Pandemonium is weak without Death Monarch”

“There would be all kinds of rhetoric. Enemies of Pandemonium would seize upon it and goaded the world powers to fight”

“And once these rhetoric flies all over the world, it sets up a stage”

“A momentum. And sometimes, these world powers have no choice but to make some decision that they don’t want to”

“If they did not even fight even when Death Monarch is there and when all of the people below them is clamoring to fight, then what’s the point of contending for hegemony?”

“Even though order has been established and we have somewhat moved from the phase of contention between great powers, this new order is….new”

“It is still in its infancy. And not everyone is satisfied with the status quo or the order that they found themselves in. It needs to take roots first, to sprout and bloom before one acknowledges this new order with their hearts”

“All it takes is a spark. And a plain of grass would turn into a plain of prairie fire”

“But those in the top of the world powers, all of them have already agreed. They wanted this order”

“They wanted it and that is why Hirate, Oreki, Hikigaya, Raymond, Jean, Boris, all of them did not say a word”

“And for the people below, unless they participated directly in the war in Pandemonium or have a high enough connection they would only be able to hear and see what their world powers wanted them to hear and see”

“Though, this time, what the world powers wanted to do is not nefarious. Too much information given to the people who are all rebellious in their hearts would only cause chaos in the world”

Ahmad sighed and added

“Heroes of the world needs to be controlled”

“All people of this era are heroic. Each one is tigers and dragon”

“Each one are not the kind of people who would easily serve under another. And it is because of this there is too much chaos”

“And it is because of this certain information needs to be controlled. Because humans are a self-destructive race. Even if they knew order would serve them better this time, they prefer to stir things up and let everything fall to the ground.”

Arthur shakes his head.

“It almost like you prefer authoritarian government”

Ahmad shakes his head

“No, I abhor it above all others”

For a moment he shook his head and then closing his eyes he sighed. Then opening back his eyes he continues

“But one must admit the world has changed. In the past, a person alone could not change the trend of the world”

“This era, however, is a different era than any other era that humankind has ever faced. One person alone could change the trend of the world. One person alone could destroy this very planet and everything on it.”

Ahmad paused for a second, closed his eyes and shakes his head

“That is not a person. That is a god”

“And there’s hundreds of them.” Arthur frowns.

He knew what Ahmad was talking about.

That one person is clearly referring to Death Monarch. He is now sitting on the throne of the strongest man in the world

From the moment the world acknowledges him as the strongest person in the world, jhow many people have fought him.

Arthur would not believe that those people did not have the intention of dethroning him. But it has almost been a decade. More if you count the years in the Fake World.

But no one has managed to unseat him from that position.

He has been the one on the ceiling of power. Everyone has been chasing that wall all of their life.

One wonders when one would reach a point where they could chase this wall.

And as for hundreds of them, this clearly refers to those Disk Formation realm levelers all over the world

Each one of them is like little gods. If they go to some other worlds, their abilities is enough for them to be considered and regarded as gods or immortals.

Moving mountains and splitting the sea is an easy task for them

And once someone reached Disk Formation realm, they could easily leave earth.

Even though the current Earth gravity is the same, the magic pressure is not.

And Energy Forming stage realm levelers would find it hard to break through the sky like before

But Disk Formation realm leveler, they can easily break through. And goes to another planet if they want to.

Arthur even heard some of them go to Mars just to set up a fighting ring among the dusty settlements hubs on Mars.

“Order and law are necessary to make sure that this world does not crumble on its own. We have no experience of dealing with this kind of thing. This kind of population where everyone has the power to upend the order”

“In the past, rulers could use army to control the people”

“And yes, most of the time, rulers are shit”

“Most atrocity of humankind was done under the orders of a ruler. The people obey because of force and benefit”

“But there was also example of how a ruler could steer a country to betterment. It is rare but it happened”

“I do not believe there is a saint ruler in this era. Because we are born from a corrupt generation where those who hold power are all corrupt. In a world derived from greed, to expect people to become benevolent and good is like hoping a fish would not die on the sandy desert.”

“Before the Fall came, the system of our world is derived on the idea that “greed is good”.

“That was the foundation of ruin. How could a sin considered by many as one of the seven great sins become a foundation for good. It is like hoping a pillar of sand could witstand a roof made of stones”

“It does not make sense”

“If not for the Fall, I believe that humanity would experience late-stage capitalism. Just like how communism could only work if the administrators are all angels, capitalism couldn’t work because it is a system that expects people that govern the system to not be greedy when greed is the number one creed of that system”

“They instead expected that greed would better humanity”

“What has bettered humanity has always been the people who absolve greed. Insulin is the prime example of how greed has ruined humanity forever. Sir Frederick Banting wanted insulin to be free. How many lives could have been saved. But greedy corporations raise its price ever since. It belongs to the world”

Arthur only smiles bitterly. He kind of gets what Ahmad is saying. His mother is sick and she died because of some healthcare bureaucracy.

“Some things belong to the individual, and some things are too great to be claimed by any organization and any person”

“Something….should be left to the world. And those who could make such distinction are always people who could restrain their greed”

“Capitalism only works for a percentage of people. That is how it works. Just like how feudalism only works for certain people it is the same.

“And so, suffering would never end. And instead, a new kind of slavery has been created. And even more perfected slavery”

“The people were enslaved, and they would like their chains. They slave away their times for a system that would not give them a dignity of a living being”

“I have seen people sell their soul and sell their conscience under this system”

“To enumerate the failings of the system of the world would take days. Everyone would have their thoughts, and everyone would have their defenses”

“But I know that communists could not work without a powerful centralized command, which would oppress people. The state is paramount, and every individual right would be ignored when the state versus the people”

“Of course, some nations become more adept at getting the consent of their people. A consent they engineered with propaganda”

“Manufactured consent. When the government is powerful enough to even indoctrinate your thoughts, then whether it is communism, democracy, or whatever system is always on the whims of the ruler elite”

“Democracy on the other hand has been synonymous with capitalism. This has not always been the case. The fall of the Soviet Union is not because one held the ideology of a communist, it is because of the way they handle their economic ideology. It was a war between capitalism and government control.

“Capitalism when it has the right ingredient could explode with powerful force”

“But a system of greed like this has never been about the betterment of the individual people. It favors the elite. Any system, when it reaches it late stages, would always favors the ruling class”

“Modern democracy itself is just polite dictatorship”
