Chapter 126 - 105: Revelation 2
Chapter 126: Chapter 105: Revelation 2
Although the color had faded from blackish-red to pure red, it was still an ominous sign of terrible luck!
“What color am I?” Zhou Chen asked.
“Red, mixed with gold. I know what this means.”
The man glanced fearfully at Erin. “As long as you stay away from her, you won’t be tainted by misfortune and bad luck. In fact, you’ll come into a stroke of great fortune. From then on, your rise will be meteoric, and you’ll reach the pinnacle of your life. In fortune-telling terms, it’s a calamitous romance.
If you leave her be, you’ll live. Your future will be limitless, full of promise, wealth, and prestige. You might even become a High Tier Ascender, admired by thousands.
But if you continue to stay with her, you’re practically guaranteed to die, with only the slimmest hope of survival.”
Zhou Chen was skeptical. “Dude, you’re just a Tier One Ascender. You can see that far into the future?”
“Of course I can’t see that far. That was all just a guess. My Ability is seeing a person’s luck for a short period into the future. If a major turning point in their life is coming up during that time, I see this kind of blended light of good and bad fortune.”
The man continued, “Three months ago, I saw someone with the same fortune as you—red mixed with gold. I followed him all afternoon. That night, he jaywalked without looking, got hit by a car, was thrown five meters, and died on the spot.
I later heard from his family that he’d just earned his boss’s favor, gotten a promotion and a raise. The boss was even going to introduce him to his daughter. He should have had a brilliant future ahead of him, but he lost his life just like that.
That’s the kind of turning point I’m talking about. If he’d just waited for the light to change, he might have safely passed through his trial and his luck would have turned… I’ve seen this happen many times, and now it’s happening to you.
You can doubt me. After all, I’m only Tier One, and my Ability has major limitations. But you should at least think about your own life.”
Without another word, the man turned and walked toward the medical wing, not looking back. He clearly wanted to get away from Erin as quickly as possible.
Zhou Chen stared at the auras on the people around him, lost in thought. Just then, Erin tugged on his sleeve and looked at him with a resolute gaze. “Mr. Zhou Chen, there’s something I need to tell you.”
「In the lounge.」
“I already knew.”
Before Erin could even speak, Zhou Chen already knew what she was going to say. “Your father told me about the Curse.”
“I see…” Erin didn’t seem very surprised; she had probably guessed as much. Her hands were folded in her lap and she sat with perfect posture, but her head was bowed, her gaze fixed on the tips of her shoes. In a quiet voice, she said, “I hope you won’t continue to accompany me, Mr. Zhou Chen. You’ll be infected by the misfortune.”
“You believe that guy, too?” Zhou Chen frowned. “We’re inside the Star Association. We’re perfectly safe here.”
“It’s just a precaution. Regardless of whether what he said is true, the fact remains that I am Cursed. I’m well aware that as I get older, the dangers around me are growing. One day, I will die because of this Curse, but before that happens, I don’t want to drag anyone down with me… especially not you…”
Erin pressed her lips together, as if it took all her strength to say the words. “So please… just leave me be.”
Zhou Chen leaned back against the steel chair, smiling as he spread his hands. “Apologies, Miss Erin, but the person who signed the contract with me was your father, Duke Elizabeth. Until the guide contract expires, I can’t possibly leave you.”
“Then I’ll have my father terminate the contract.”
“And even if he does, do you really think I’ll abandon you?” Zhou Chen looked at her, his gaze earnest. “Trust me. Nothing is going to happen.”

A solemn, cold wind suddenly began to blow through the city ruins, a scene as tragic as the aftermath of an apocalypse.
A ghastly white descended from the sky, coalescing in the biting gale to become a terrifying blizzard. In an instant, the world between heaven and earth became a vast, white expanse.
A terrible cataclysm of ice and snow descended upon the land, bringing a dead silence and heralding the arrival of the final winter, the day of endings for all creation.
A cold so intense it could freeze the mortal world crept over the bodies of the four Tier Fives. Frost condensed, transforming them into thick ice sculptures. Even a Soul as powerful as a Crowned King’s would freeze solid in this bone-eroding chill.
At the edge of the horizon, a blazing crimson meteor streaked across the sky. A Knight’s Lance, like a falling meteorite, shot toward the Purgatory Fire Demon with unstoppable force.
Immediately after, as if a hundred thousand Suns had descended upon this place, a magnificent blade of light, coalescing both holy power and terrifying heat, slashed out toward the Filthy Angel. A massive trench was carved clean through Jinzhu City, and the giant, corrupted trees spontaneously combusted, burning to ash in the blink of an eye.
CRACK! With the sound of shattering ice, the Filthy Angel shattered three of its wings to forcibly break free. It swung the longsword of flesh and filth in its hand, colliding with the descending blade of judgment. The impact unleashed a soul-shaking boom and a blinding flash of light.
Dark flames of chaos erupted from the Purgatory Fire Demon’s body, vaporizing the frost. It slammed its hands together, and with a monstrous clap and a sudden shockwave, it caught the meteor-like Knight’s Lance with its bare hands.
However, before the Purgatory Fire Demon could even manage a disdainful smirk, the Knight’s Lance erupted with the dim yellow light of dusk and thrust forward once more. SQUELCH! With a sickening thud, the lance pierced through the fire demon’s body, and viscous black blood spewed forth.
“’Unstoppable?’ A look of sudden realization dawned on the Purgatory Fire Demon’s face as the Knight’s Lance vanished into thin air.
When it reappeared, it was already sweeping toward the Nine-headed Demon Serpent, whose body was mostly encased in ice.
The Nine-headed Demon Serpent’s greatest strength was its physique, but after being infused with the freezing cold, its once-indestructible body had become an ice sculpture. The Knight’s Lance swept out, and five or six of its heads exploded simultaneously. Huge chunks of ice shattered and rained down from the sky. Its terrifying Recovery Ability kicked in, and the severed necks began to regenerate, but the frost spreading from the wounds infinitely slowed the process.
One of the remaining heads opened its maw and bit down on the Knight’s Lance. CRUNCH! Its fangs, sharp enough to easily tear through the body of a Filthy Angel, snapped in two. In the next instant, blood splattered as the Dusk Knight’s lance pierced through the serpent’s head, leaving a massive, bloody hole. Then, the lance vanished.
A woman with an indifferent face appeared on a skyscraper’s rooftop, clad in a snow-white cloak and tall white boots. Her ice-blue hair fluttered in the wind, her pupils filled with a solemn chill as she watched her enemies on the horizon.
Beside her stood a Knight in silver-white heavy plate, holding a blood-drenched lance. His entire body was encased in the thick armor.
On another side was a Holy Judgment Angel with sixteen wings sprouting from its back. A radiant halo floated above its head. Its face was divinely beautiful, filled with an inviolable majesty, and in its hand, it held the Blazing Holy Sword.
“Hah… I was wondering why the Star Association was being so quiet. Turns out it was a trap.” The Inciter shook the ice from his body. He had “incited” the power of the biting cold to rebel against its master, leaving him completely unharmed.
The Inciter then raised his head, his gaze piercing the clouds as if he could see observers outside this ’World.’ In that moment, he discovered the truth of this ’World.’
“’So, it was the King of Mirrors. The Illusion Realm… Heh, how amusing. You actually managed to fool all of us.’”
The Inciter looked toward the figures of the Crowned Kings materializing in the distance, a gleeful smile spreading across his face. “The King of Mirrors, master of the Mirror World; the renowned Winter King; the Dusk Knight, slayer of the Demon Dragon; and a true Holy Judgment Angel, destroyer of the Necromancer’s Kingdom…
I never expected so many distinguished figures would be here to welcome us. It’s truly—
an overwhelming honor!”
“’Since everyone wants that *thing*, let’s just see who’s more capable.’”
The Inciter roared with laughter. An ancient book appeared in his hand and flipped open on its own. He began to solemnly intone every word from its pages:
“’When I saw the Lamb open the first of the seven seals, I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, ’Come.’
I looked, and there was a white horse, and its rider held a bow. A crown was given to him, and he rode out, conquering and to conquer again.’”
And so, Thunderbolt erupted, and blood and fire raged.
In the gloomy sky, a sacred white horse tore through the dark clouds, bringing with it the apocalyptic Knight named Conquest.
