Chapter 3450

“All right, then. Be careful, and don’t push yourself if things get too dangerous!” Chen Yueying cautioned Ye Liuyun before retreating.

She figured that even if Ye Liuyun used his power of bloodline along with his other abilities, he shouldn’t suffer too great a loss. There weren’t many resources here, so if Ye Liuyun didn’t take the opportunity to get some practice, he would have come here for nothing.

However, the black auger was quite clever. Believing that Ye Liuyun was using himself as bait, it refused to take the bait and come out to fight him.

“You think hiding underwater means I can’t fight you?”

Ye Liuyun waited for a while, but when the black auger still refused to come out, he released two golden dragon puppets and sent them diving into the Blackwater Pool. He himself mounted one of the golden dragons and entered the water to fight the black auger.

The black water would normally obscure one’s vision, but Ye Liuyun’s Golden Eyes were almost completely unaffected by it. Thus, when the black auger tried to launch a sneak attack, he detected it in advance. The two golden dragons charged over together and entangled it, while Ye Liuyun also struck it solidly with his saber.

The black auger’s ambush failed, and it was ambushed in turn. Ye Liuyun slashed its neck, sending blood gushing out. That strike had incorporated not only the power of heaven and earth and Spatial Force, but also some of his divine essence, so the black auger was seriously wounded.

Moreover, Ye Liuyun’s power of bloodline prevented the black auger from displaying its full strength, keeping it from showing the power of the fifth realm.

Seeing that the situation was turning against it, the black auger immediately submitted to Ye Liuyun.

It transmitted its voice to Ye Liuyun, telling him that it possessed quite a few storage rings belonging to humans, each containing many cultivation resources, and that it could hand them all over to him. The storage rings had all been collected into its spatial world, so even if Ye Liuyun killed it, he would not be able to obtain those resources.

It had originally intended to use this to threaten Ye Liuyun and stop him from killing it. Ye Liuyun, however, merely smiled indifferently and continued hacking at it with his saber. The two golden dragon puppets kept it tightly entangled as well, giving it no chance to escape.

As long as he knew that the black auger had resources, that was enough. Once he had fought to his heart’s content, he could use his soul power to control it, so he did not stop.

When the black auger saw that submitting was useless, it could only fight Ye Liuyun with all its might. It had no other choice. Although Ye Liuyun’s cultivation realm was not high, the Demon-Slaying Saber was simply too sharp, and his sword intention was too powerful. On top of that, the two golden dragon puppets were restricting its movements. If it did not fight back, Ye Liuyun would soon kill it.

Although Ye Liuyun was also significantly hampered by fighting underwater, the assistance of the two golden dragons allowed him to fight the black auger to a draw.

In the end, the black auger had no choice but to flee, even abandoning its own lair.

Ye Liuyun, however, pursued it out of the Blackwater Pool, ordering the golden dragon puppets to block its path before engaging it in close combat once again.

Earlier, when they had been fighting underwater, Chen Yueying could only see the splashing water on the surface and had no idea what was happening. Now that they had fought their way outside, it was much easier for her to see Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun once again entered his berserk combat mode. Even when the black auger sent him flying with a sweep of its body, he immediately charged back and swung his saber at it.

She could also clearly see that Ye Liuyun’s physical body had indeed grown much stronger. At the very least, this fifth-level flood dragon could no longer injure him.

Although the flood dragon’s cultivation realm might have been suppressed by Ye Liuyun’s bloodline, Ye Liuyun’s physical body was now at least strong enough to face a martial cultivator at her level.

“Looking at it this way, I can’t really blame him for using up resources so quickly. The effects are indeed quite obvious!” Chen Yueying was still thinking about how quickly Ye Liuyun consumed resources.

Meanwhile, the battle on Ye Liuyun’s side grew increasingly fierce. Although the black auger’s injuries continued to worsen, it fought more and more desperately.

But after fighting desperately for a long while, it discovered that it simply could not kill Ye Liuyun. With its true essence nearly exhausted while Ye Liuyun had yet to get his fill of the battle, it could only finally lie down on the ground and surrender to him.

“I’ll give you all my resources. As long as you’re willing to spare my life, I’m willing to acknowledge you as my master!” The black auger had been beaten into submission by Ye Liuyun. He had slashed it more than thirty times all over its body, draining nearly all its blood.

However, Ye Liuyun directly released his soul origin and sent it into the black auger’s sea of consciousness, planting a slave mark in it. He then searched its soul to find out exactly how many resources it possessed.

After investigating, he discovered that the black auger truly had not lied to him. Not long ago, it had devoured a wealthy young man and obtained a large number of cultivation resources, which was also why its cultivation realm had risen.

It was precisely for this reason that the wealthy young man’s family had been willing to pay to post a mission for someone to kill the black auger.

But the black auger was not innocent either. It had devoured plenty of humans before, even wiping out entire villages. It truly deserved to die.

“Hand over all the resources you possess!” Ye Liuyun did not bother with anything else and ordered it to hand over every resource.

The black auger took more than thirty storage rings from its spatial world.

“There really are quite a lot. There are even six sources of origin power from Taixu worlds!” Ye Liuyun was pleasantly surprised.

There was not only origin power; there were also quite a few divine crystals. In addition, there were many corpses and essence cores of savage beasts. These were all cultivation resources the black auger had accumulated, and they would be perfect for the demonic beasts to use in their cultivation.

After collecting the resources, Ye Liuyun cut off the black auger’s head with one slash and prepared to return to turn in the mission. As for its body, he gave it to the Dragon Maiden as a cultivation resource.

Ye Liuyun did not keep the cultivation resources to himself either; he took them out to distribute among everyone.

But the others refused them, all saying that they had done nothing and could not keep taking advantage of Ye Liuyun. In the end, Ye Liuyun had no choice but to put the resources away.

“Let’s return to the sect, exchange these for some resources, and then take on a few more difficult missions?” Ye Liuyun immediately asked Chen Yueying.

Ye Liuyun had once again removed his Gilded Armor during the battle to temper his physical body. Although he had not suffered any serious injuries, he was covered in quite a few scratches. He paid them no attention at all and was ready to set out immediately.

“All right. But don’t you need to rest for a while?” Chen Yueying asked with concern.

“No need. I’m perfectly fine, so don’t worry!” As Ye Liuyun spoke, the injuries on his body were already healing at a visible speed.

Thus, Chen Yueying said nothing more and immediately led them back to the Thousand Spirits Sect.

On the way, Ye Liuyun directly absorbed and refined the origin power of a Taixu world, replenishing his divine essence to full strength.

After arriving at the sect, Ye Liuyun exchanged for another hundred portions of Body-Tempering Fluid to keep in reserve. Then he followed Chen Yueying to accept several more difficult missions.

This time, Liao Yaotian and the others did not accompany them. Instead, they took the opportunity to remain at the academy, first improving their cultivation techniques and then cultivating to raise their realms.

Ye Liuyun and Chen Yueying did not even return to their residence. They immediately left the sect and hurried toward the locations of their assigned missions.

However, they had not gone far when the voice transmission talisman received a message from Liao Yaotian saying that someone had come to attack their residence. Fortunately, their residence was protected by an array formation, so those people could not break in for the time being.
