Just as Chen Yueying was registering the missions, Liao Yaotian noticed several male disciples dressed in the same inner-sect robes watching them.

As soon as Chen Yueying finished registering, the male disciples immediately came over and greeted her.

“Junior Sister, didn’t you go home? How did you return to the sect so soon?” one rather shifty-eyed fellow asked Chen Yueying, feigning enthusiasm.

Chen Yueying clearly had no desire to pay him any attention. Out of courtesy, she merely greeted him with, “Senior Brother Qi,” then walked away without even acknowledging his question.

“Junior Sister, the missions you just accepted aren’t ones you can complete on your own! Do you need me to bring some people along to help you?” Senior Brother Qi called after her.

“No need.” Chen Yueying replied indifferently without even turning her head, then left the mission hall.

“Junior Sister, these guards of yours are rather weak!” Senior Brother Qi continued following Chen Yueying, chattering incessantly.

But Chen Yueying did not even bother replying anymore. Without sparing him a glance, she went straight back to the inner sect.

In the end, he could only stop awkwardly. Only after Chen Yueying had gone out of sight did his expression turn gloomy, a vicious look appearing in his eyes. “Hmph, what’s so great about being a princess? Just wait until you fall into my hands. Then you’ll see how I’ll get my revenge!”

“That person just now was Qi Shengyu, a detestable scoundrel. The few lackeys around him aren’t any good either. If you run into him in the future, be extra careful and don’t fall into his trap,” Chen Yueying reminded Liao Yaotian and the others.

“Yes. That fellow obviously isn’t a good person. And the moment he opened his mouth, he started probing into the princess’s private affairs. He clearly has bad intentions!” Liao Yaotian immediately agreed.

“Mm. As long as you understand that, it’s fine!” Seeing how perceptive Liao Yaotian was, Chen Yueying felt considerably more at ease.

She was now thinking about taking Ye Liuyun along to complete the missions, and soon put Qi Shengyu out of her mind. As soon as she returned, she began explaining the missions to Ye Liuyun.

“Sounds good. We can start with a few simple missions to get moving, and it’ll also let us learn about the difficulty of your sect’s missions. That works out well.”

After hearing this, Ye Liuyun also felt that the missions were indeed quite simple. He could only hope they would happen to find some other resources along the way; otherwise, these missions really would not offer much of a reward.

He immediately stopped cultivating as well and followed Chen Yueying outside with Liao Tianyang and the others.

The three missions Chen Yueying had accepted were the simplest ones within the sect. The only issue was that they might encounter a relatively large number of opponents, though none of them were at a high cultivation realm.

One was to go to a place called Withered Wood Cliff and wipe out a band of vagrant bandits numbering more than thirty. Another was to search for a kind of Shadowless Grass on Immortal Herb Mountain, where there were vicious beasts of varying cultivation levels. The last was to go to a place called Blackwater Pool and kill an injured black auger that had been attacking people. Its cultivation was only at the fourth level of the Void Transcendence Realm.

All three places were on this planet, and Immortal Herb Mountain was even within the sect. Thus, they planned to go to Immortal Herb Mountain first.

But unexpectedly, as soon as they left the inner sect, they ran into Qi Shengyu again. Ye Liuyun did not know who Qi Shengyu was, but Liao Yaotian immediately reminded Chen Yueying.

Chen Yueying was explaining the details of each mission to Ye Liuyun, as well as the dangers they might encounter. Her mind was completely occupied with that and not with anything else.

“Junior Sister!” Qi Shengyu called out to her from a distance once again.

Upon hearing him, Chen Yueying could not help frowning.

The moment Ye Liuyun saw her expression, he knew this must be an annoying fellow. However, he was currently only a member of the guard detail and had no way to stand up for Chen Yueying.

“Senior Brother Qi, do you need something?” Only after Chen Yueying came near did she ask him indifferently.

“I saw that you had accepted several missions, and that the guards around you were at rather low cultivation levels, so I brought a few people to help you, just in case something happened to you.” Qi Shengyu fawned over Chen Yueying with an ingratiating smile.

“There’s no need!” Chen Yueying replied coldly, then continued walking forward with Ye Liuyun and the others.

“How could there be no need? There are so many bandits, and the black auger’s cultivation is also quite high...” Qi Shengyu shamelessly brought his people along after them.

“I said there’s no need. Don’t you understand? Are you really that idle every day? What missions I accept is none of your business!”

Chen Yueying had already disliked Qi Shengyu, and with Ye Liuyun present, she was even less willing to show him any courtesy. She immediately lost her temper and shot back at him.

Qi Shengyu had not only secretly inquired about the missions she intended to undertake, but had also said that Ye Liuyun and the others were too weak. He truly was extremely detestable.

At this point, Liao Yaotian also told Ye Liuyun what had happened earlier.

“He’s just an annoying scoundrel. Ignore him!” Chen Yueying also explained the matter to Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun did not take it to heart. Given Chen Yueying’s status and appearance, it was perfectly normal for people to fawn over her.

Qi Shengyu was somewhat embarrassed, but he still plastered a smile across his face and explained to Chen Yueying, “I’m only concerned about your safety...”

“Do I need you to worry about me? Mind your own business!” Chen Yueying interrupted Qi Shengyu again and scolded him outright, afraid that he might say something to upset Ye Liuyun.

She had always disliked Qi Shengyu, constantly rejecting and avoiding him, though she had maintained a passable fa?ade on the surface. But now that she had feelings for Ye Liuyun, she was naturally afraid that he might misunderstand, so she would not let Qi Shengyu continue speaking.

“Junior Sister, what’s gotten into you? You’ve never treated me like this before!”

Qi Shengyu was also somewhat astonished. He had not expected Chen Yueying to be so direct this time, not leaving him any dignity at all.

But Chen Yueying grew even angrier upon hearing this, worried that Ye Liuyun would misunderstand her.

“Qi Shengyu, explain yourself. How have I treated you in the past? When have I ever accepted your advances? Did I give you too much leeway, so now you think you can say whatever you want?”

Chen Yueying’s imperious questioning left Qi Shengyu unable to react for a moment.

Liao Yaotian, however, secretly snickered to himself, guessing that Chen Yueying was afraid Ye Liuyun would misunderstand, which was why she had lost her temper so badly.

Ye Liuyun watched with a smile as well, feeling that Chen Yueying had done the right thing. Shameless people like this should not be shown any courtesy; otherwise, they would pester you endlessly.

Qi Shengyu was seething inside. He had not dared to show his anger toward Chen Yueying, but when he suddenly saw Liao Yaotian and Ye Liuyun both laughing at him, he finally could not suppress his temper any longer.

“How dare you? You two guards actually dare to mock this young master?”

He immediately released his aura and was about to attack Ye Liuyun and Liao Yaotian. The few lackeys behind him also released their pressure.

Ye Liuyun was not bothered by their pressure, but Liao Yaotian’s expression changed at once, his face turning pale as he was intimidated by it.

Chen Yueying immediately drew her longsword, pointed it at Qi Shengyu, and stepped in front of Ye Liuyun and Liao Yaotian.

“What? You want to lay a hand on my people?”
