Chapter 132: Chapter 108: Careful Calculation

This value far exceeded the thirty Spirit Stones he had lent out.

Chen Jianghe planned to buy the resources he needed at the Hundred Treasures Tower tomorrow, when he introduced Ruan Tieniu to Alchemist Zhuang. For today, he would first look into the cultivation resources for Little Black and Fur Ball.

He placed the two Demon Beast flesh bodies by the pool. With a thought, Little Black and Fur Ball both emerged from the Spirit Beast Space. Little Black immediately ran in front of the two Demon Beast flesh bodies, his fiery gaze locked tightly onto their heads.

"Master, are these ours?"

"Yes."

Hearing this, Little Black directly raised his washbasin-sized claw and slammed it viciously onto one of the Demon Beast’s heads. It smashed with a loud bang, splattering red and white matter everywhere. A diamond-shaped crystal, swirling with a black luster, was revealed.

This was the Spirit Core of a Water Attribute Late-Stage Tier One Demon Beast.

"PTOO!"

A Water Arrow washed the blood and gore off the Spirit Core. Once it was clean, Little Black threw it straight into his mouth. He didn’t even chew, just swallowed it whole. Following this, his Turtle Shell emitted a faint, dark glow, as if he was refining the Tier One Demon Beast’s Spirit Core.

"So fragrant. It’s even better than I thought!" Little Black stood up on his hind legs, bearing his Turtle Shell on his back. With his short limbs, he looked quite comical. "Master, can I just eat this from now on? It’s much more useful than Red Mist True Dew. Two of these are enough for a year of cultivation."

"Huh? You only eat the Spirit Core?" Chen Jianghe pointed at the Demon Beast’s flesh body. It seemed the beast, now lacking its Spirit Core, held no attraction for Little Black.

"That’s right." Little Black then pointed at Fur Ball, who had half of his head poking out of the pool.

Chen Jianghe noticed that Fur Ball was also staring intently at the Demon Beast flesh body. However, intimidated by Little Black, the little guy didn’t dare to approach, let alone express his desire to eat the beast to Chen Jianghe.

"The Spiritual Qi contained in a Demon Beast’s flesh body isn’t very useful to me, but it’s highly effective for Fur Ball. It’s much better than eating Spirit-Encompassing Flowers," Little Black explained. "Hehe, and most importantly, it’s cost-effective!"

Hearing Little Black’s words and seeing his budget-conscious expression, Chen Jianghe was stunned. He wondered who the turtle had learned this from.

The next moment, Little Black walked over to the other Demon Beast’s flesh body, raising his claw, ready to smash it down.

"Wait a minute." Chen Jianghe hurriedly stepped forward and stopped him. "Don’t waste it. Every part of a Demon Beast’s body is worth a lot of money when separated. Does Fur Ball only eat the blood and flesh?"

"The blood and flesh, Heart Marrow, and internal organs all contain a massive amount of Spiritual Qi. They’re all very beneficial to Fur Ball," Little Black replied.

"That settles it then. I’ll put these two Demon Beasts away for now. When I come back tomorrow, I’ll teach you guys how to eat them," Chen Jianghe said, storing the two Demon Beasts away.

"Why wait until tomorrow?" Little Black asked in confusion.

"Didn’t you complain that you were too useless? I’ll find something for you to do tomorrow," Chen Jianghe chuckled.

"Two-Legged Beast, you’re scheming against me again!" Little Black fell backward in despair, his four claws pointing to the sky. He twisted his turtle head to look at Fur Ball, who was watching the show from the pool. "See that? Lord Turtle still has to carry this family."

"SQUEAK, SQUEAK!" *(That’s right, that’s right.)*

Little Black took a deep breath and tried to look at the sun, only to find it had already set. However, his Doudou eyes revealed a glimmer of excitement and thrill. He truly wanted to share Chen Jianghe’s burden. He didn’t dare go out to hunt Demon Beasts. As for returning to Jingyue Lake to raise fish, he’d be stewed into soup if discovered; he wouldn’t dare do that until he reached Tier Two, either. Now, it seemed the Two-Legged Beast had thought of a relatively safe job for him.

The next day.

Chen Jianghe and Ruan Tieniu arrived at the first floor of the Hundred Treasures Tower, meeting Alchemist Zhuang in the landscaped corridor. However, this time, Alchemist Zhuang hadn’t brought his granddaughter Zhuang Xinyan or his disciple Jiang Ruxu.

Chen Jianghe introduced them and then excused himself to leave. Since Alchemist Zhuang had agreed to meet Ruan Tieniu, the deal was practically done. It all depended on how much of a discount Ruan Tieniu could negotiate.

It was inappropriate for Chen Jianghe to be present at this time. After all, since Spirit Stones were involved, his presence would make Alchemist Zhuang overly mindful of his dignity. Ruan Tieniu would also find it inconvenient to push for the maximum discount because of him. It was best to leave. Moreover, he also needed to purchase some cultivation resources.

Arriving at the second floor of the Hundred Treasures Tower, he bought two True Spirit Pills, a bottle of Fasting Pills, five pieces of Black Pig Hide, and five boxes of Spiritual Ink. This cost him eighty-eight Spirit Stones.

As for the Red Mist True Dew and Spirit-Encompassing Flowers? Little Black and Fur Ball already had better options, so they no longer needed those two Spiritual Objects.

Subsequently, with his remaining one hundred and fifty-three Spirit Stones and five grains of Spiritual Sand, Chen Jianghe walked up to the third floor of the Hundred Treasures Tower.

In the Qinghe Marketplace, there were no restrictions on accessing the third floor. Even Early-Stage Qi Refining Cultivators could go up if they wished. Furthermore, the third floor didn’t sell resources for Foundation Establishment Cultivators. In any Marketplace, there would never be a counter exclusively dedicated to selling cultivation resources for Foundation Establishment Cultivators.

A Foundation Establishment Cultivator could serve as the Elder Ancestor of a family in any given region. They were Great Cultivators in the upper echelons of the Cultivation Realm. Moreover, the resources they required were incredibly scarce and exorbitantly priced, making it impossible to sell them over the counter. They would only appear at auctions or in private transactions.

Therefore, the third floor of the Qinghe Marketplace’s Hundred Treasures Tower was actually the Cultivation Technique District, though the area was much larger than the one in the Jingyue Marketplace. It even provided a leisure reading area with magazines. Of course, the magazines had to be purchased to be read; free browsing wasn’t allowed. Nor could they be taken out of the third floor.

As for the fourth floor, it was an auction venue. The Qinghe Marketplace held two auctions a year: one during the Mid-Autumn Festival and another on New Year’s Eve.

Chen Jianghe knew this, but in all the years he had been in the Qinghe Marketplace, he had never attended one.

It was simply too expensive!
