Chapter 981 - 514: Slaying the Water Monster (Part 2)

Chapter 981: Chapter 514: Slaying the Water Monster (Part 2)

As the barrier began to tremble continuously, Gu Sheng bit his lower lip tightly.

He shook his wrist, which was entangled by the tentacles, and suddenly realized the water monster’s grip had loosened a bit!

Noticing this, he immediately intensified his Divine Power to reinforce the barrier.

Now that the water monster’s attention was diverted, he must seize the moment!

Sure enough, the barrier grew thicker, and the water monster’s fury increased.

Without waiting to struggle, the tentacles binding his hands and feet started to slowly loosen.

Realizing the chance was here, Gu Sheng seized the opportunity and discarded the Fire Spirit Dagger before catching it with his other hand. He curled his body tightly, and when the angle was just right, he fiercely slashed down with the dagger in his hand, severing three of the water monster’s tentacles at once!

As the black liquid gushed forth, Gu Sheng swiftly sprinted toward the barrier crafted by his Divine Power.

The moment his body passed through the barrier, all of the Divine Power returned to his body!

Gu Sheng leaped forward, landing directly in front of the water monster, raising the Fire Spirit Dagger high and plunging it towards the monster’s head fiercely!

With a squelching sound, the black liquid quickly spread, once again obstructing Gu Sheng’s view.

This time, Gu Sheng didn’t dodge; instead, he repeatedly raised the Fire Spirit Dagger and stabbed forward again and again!

The sound of squelching continuously resounded, and after an unknown amount of time, a shattering explosion occurred, and Gu Sheng leaped swiftly to escape the area.

Without direction, he exerted his full strength to swim upwards.

After a long while, he finally broke through the water’s surface, returning above!

"Shi Lou, Er Gou!"

Gu Sheng shouted, and a response immediately came from afar.

"Brother Sheng, we’re here; where are you?"

"Here."

Gu Sheng used his Divine Power to activate his small tripod, which immediately led the two towards him.

Before long, Gu Sheng saw the two.

"I’m here."

Following the sound, the two finally saw him.

"Brother Sheng, how come you’re here? Are you alright?"

"I’m fine. There’s a water monster here underwater. I lost direction during our battle and ended up here."

Hearing this, the two’s hearts jumped to their throats.

"Water... water monster? Brother Sheng, it didn’t harm you, right?"

The two widened their eyes, scanning Gu Sheng from head to toe with obvious terror.

Seeing them like this, Gu Sheng chuckled.

"Don’t worry, I’m fine. That water monster must already be dead, but now the water is black and can’t be explored. Once the color fades, I’ll dive down to investigate."

"Brother Sheng, let me go instead."

Er Gou volunteered bravely, looking ready to sacrifice himself.

Gu Sheng shook his head, smiled, and said, "Let’s forget about it. The water monster is dead, but the Yin Qi might not have dissipated. Shi Lou couldn’t withstand it with the small tripod’s protection, and I suppose neither could you. Let me go."

"Brother Sheng, I’m not afraid..."

"I may not be afraid, but I am. Where are your Spirit Stones? Bring them out, let’s recover."

Upon hearing this, Er Gou quickly took out Spirit Stones.

The three sat on the ground, each restoring their Divine Power.

Eventually, Gu Sheng was the first to open his eyes.

Seeing the water’s color gradually clearing, he lifted his hand and stirred it.

Indeed, the Yin Qi was weakening.

After thinking a bit, Gu Sheng didn’t rush into the water but looked up into the distance.

After much deliberation, he left the small tripod and ventured alone.

After an unknown amount of time, Gu Sheng suddenly saw a patch of fire-red.

After a moment of surprise, he showed a wild joy on his face and quickly sprinted forward.

Among the jungle, though only a small patch of red was exposed, once Gu Sheng captured it, he immediately identified the precise location.

Sure enough, this was where the fire-red flowers were growing!

Circled around the tree, the red started spreading westward, and amidst it was a sea of red flowers!

Gu Sheng was overwhelmed with excitement at once.

He calculated the time, knew that Shi Lou and Er Gou had almost recovered, and immediately activated the small tripod to bring them over.

After waiting for half a stick of incense’s time, he finally heard their footsteps.

"Shi Lou, Er Gou, I’m here!"

Hearing his voice, the two hurriedly rushed toward him.

"Brother Sheng, how are you? Are you alright?"

Seeing the two panting heavily, Gu Sheng turned and pointed behind him.

"Look, what is this?"

Their attention was all on Gu Sheng, they hadn’t had time to examine their surroundings, but now following his gesture, they saw a patch of fire-red and were stunned.

"Brother Sheng, is this... fire-red flowers?"

"Yes! Now the people of Stone Village are saved!"

When Gu Sheng finished speaking, the two’s eyes reddened.

"This time everyone is truly saved..."

"Don’t cry, hurry and pick the flowers."

Upon Gu Sheng’s order, the two immediately began picking.

The three now in the flower sea, swiftly picking the flowers.

After just a few hours, more than half of the red had already diminished.

The three were so focused on picking flowers, they completely lost track of time.

Until the whole flower sea was picked clean, they only then stopped.

The three exchanged glances, all smiling.

Gu Sheng put all the fire-red flowers into the storage ring and sat down with a thump.

"What time is it now?"

Gu Sheng asked casually, causing them a difficulty.

Without the sun, they couldn’t discern the hour at all.

"Brother Sheng, we don’t know either."

Upon hearing this, Gu Sheng finally realized.

"No matter, within a month, we are definitely in time."

Saying this, he took out a few fire-red flowers and directly tossed them to the two.

"Recover first, once ready, we’ll search for yin wood."

Understanding his meaning, the two quickly followed suit.

A few fire-red flowers entered their bodies, and all three swiftly felt an increase in their internal Spiritual Power.

Once more sitting cross-legged, they absorbed all Divine Power the fire-red flowers brought.

Before long, Shi Lou had the faint tendency to break through.

Gu Sheng noticed this urgently and slapped his palm atop his head and shoulders, pressing this tendency down fiercely.

Yin God Mountain is full of oddities, not suitable for breakthroughs, or with even slight carelessness, Shi Lou would perish here!

Shi Lou understood this too, so he tightly restrained all his internal meridians.

When he looked at Gu Sheng with worry in his eyes, Gu Sheng gently patted his shoulder.

"Don’t be afraid, as long as we return within half a month, you can still break through."

Upon hearing this, Shi Lou heaved a heavy sigh of relief.

"Let’s go, let’s search for yin wood."

Following Gu Sheng’s lead, the three returned to the shore.

By then, the water had become crystal clear, though still dark below, but this was due to Water Abyss and not because of Yin Qi.

Leaving the small tripod behind, Gu Sheng dove back into the water.

Though knowing the water monster was dead, he remained particularly cautious.

Searching downward, he dispelled a lot of Yin Qi the water monster left behind.

Until he touched yin wood, did he finally breath a sigh of relief.

Not wasting time, he swivelled his wrist and used Spiritual Power to bind a stack of wood and immediately pushed them towards shore.

Shi Lou and Er Gou were waiting by the shore, delightedly cheering upon seeing the yin wood.

"Brother Sheng, we’re here!"

Upon hearing their voices, Gu Sheng immediately pinpointed the direction and with force pushed the yin wood to them.

"Follow my instructions, quickly clean the timber."

Understanding his meaning, they nodded and worked hastily.

Gu Sheng delved underwater again, repeatedly bringing more yin wood upwards.

After dozens of rounds, the timber underwater was few.

Not greedily taking it all, he brought the last batch to the shore.

Only then did he notice the timber was stacked into a small mountain by the shore!

"Did I bring this much up?"

"Yes! Brother Sheng, this timber is enough to build two Stone Villages!"

While saying this, Shi Lou and Er Gou laughed uncontrollably.

Gu Sheng was amused by their expression too, storing the yin wood in the storage ring.

"One Stone Village is enough, we can expand, but there’s no need to build two."

"True, one Stone Village is enough, Brother Sheng, should we head back?"

"Yes, we’ll leave now."
