Chapter 1294 - 671: Xuanming Divine Mountain

Chapter 1294 - 671: Xuanming Divine Mountain

Liang Yu cast a deep, suspicious glance full of hostility at Gu Sheng as he left.

Once the crowd dispersed, only Su Yongchang, Gu Sheng, and Ling Xiao remained in the hall.

The Ancient Eye remained suspended in the air, but its spinning speed had slowed, seemingly losing interest in those who remained.

Gu Sheng finally could not hold back and spoke.

"Senior Su, this is..."

Su Yongchang smiled mysteriously.

"Follow me."

Having said that, he turned and walked towards the small door at the back of the hall.

Gu Sheng and Ling Xiao exchanged glances, seeing confusion and vigilance in each other’s eyes, but had no choice but to follow.

Ling Xiao followed behind Su Yongchang, his brow slightly furrowed, feeling annoyed.

This Su Yongchang was mysterious all the way, refusing to give straight answers, only saying that they’d know once they arrived.

He secretly transmitted his voice to Gu Sheng beside him.

"That Old Su certainly knows how to keep us guessing, treating us like fools!"

Gu Sheng maintained his composure, walking with steady eyes, yet he replied with voice transmission.

"Ling, Senior Su did save our lives after all. Were it not for his timely intervention, we would have met our end long ago. A little concealment is understandable."

"Hmph!"

Ling Xiao coldly sneered inwardly.

"Who knows what his true intentions are? I feel there’s more to this than meets the eye."

With a look of worry, Gu Sheng transmitted.

"You may be right; there might be greater danger ahead. We’re new here and know nothing about this Nine Heavens Milky Way, so we must be extra cautious."

As the two were secretly conversing, a sudden brightness appeared before their eyes.

A magnificent Milky Way hung above the Nine Heavens, surrounded by dense clouds, with the spiritual energy almost materializing before them.

Spirit Mountains floated on either side of the Milky Way, adorned with golden palaces and surrounded by Immortal Cranes in flight and patches of auspicious clouds.

"This..."

Ling Xiao widened his eyes, momentarily speechless.

Even with his experience, he had never seen such a breathtaking sight.

Gu Sheng was equally astounded, but quickly regained his composure, speaking softly.

"Such dense nature’s spiritual energy; cultivating here for a day might be worth a month’s effort outside."

Su Yongchang turned back, glancing at them with a slight smile.

"How do you find this place? I wasn’t deceiving you, was I? This Nine Heavens Milky Way is the Holy Land of our sect, something ordinary disciples may never witness in their lifetime."

Ling Xiao curled his lips, choosing not to respond.

Gu Sheng respectfully said.

"Thank you, senior, for allowing us to witness such a magnificent scene."

The three proceeded along the edge of the Milky Way, walking as if on solid ground though there was an abyssal Void beneath them, supported by an invisible force.

A soothing, ethereal sound of flowing water reached their ears, seeming to cleanse their minds and relaxing them unknowingly.

A Spirit River, glowing with an unusual radiance, appeared in view.

The river’s surface shimmered, seemingly carrying the essence of time and stars within its flow.

Immortal Cranes and various celestial birds soared and frolicked above the river, adding a touch of vitality to this tranquil land.

"That’s..."

Ling Xiao squinted, trying to discern what the flashing light beneath the river surface was.

Gu Sheng stood atop a protruding rock, overlooking the Spirit River, and suddenly his pupils constricted.

"Ling, be careful! There’s something at the riverbed!"

As his words fell, a massive shadow could be vaguely seen swimming slowly beneath the river, its presence sending chills down their spines, though its full form remained elusive.

"Riverbed beast..."

Su Yongchang said blandly.

"Don’t worry, they won’t attack people on the shore easily."

Ling Xiao swallowed, forcing himself to remain calm.

"Senior Su, why did you bring us here?"

Su Yongchang grinned mysteriously and gestured towards the riverbank.

"Look over there."

Following his direction, they saw an old man sitting and fishing.

The old man’s face was lean and his hair as white as snow, his simple robe immaculate, holding a fishing rod inscribed with runes, emanating an aura of transcendent elegance.

"That is my master."

Su Yongchang spoke in a lowered voice.

"I intend to introduce you to him."

Gu Sheng’s gaze sharpened, noticing the old man’s right sleeve was empty, revealing he was actually one-armed.

His heart skipped a beat but he quickly disguised his surprise.

Su Yongchang led the two slowly towards the riverbank, stopping about a dozen meters away to respectfully salute.

"Master, I’ve brought two young people to meet you."

The fishing old man faced away from them, seemingly engrossed in fishing with no reaction.

Su Yongchang was not in a hurry, only slightly moving his lips, evidently explaining the situation to his master through voice transmission.

Gu Sheng and Ling Xiao stood still, barely daring to breathe.

A breeze brushed over the river surface, lifting the old man’s snow-white hair, exposing his slightly thin profile.

"Master."

Su Yongchang transmitted his voice.

"These two possess extraordinary talent, particularly Qing Feng, who seems to show signs of Ancient bloodline awakening within. I’m concerned that if they undergo standard talent detection, it will attract the attention of other elders, so I brought them directly to meet you."

The fishing old man nodded imperceptibly, but his fishing rod remained unmoved.

Suddenly, an unexpected change occurred!

The river surface abruptly exploded as a gigantic shadow broke through, opening its bloody mouth to swallow the bait, pulling the entire fishing rod into the riverbed.

The aura emitted by that shadow was as formidable as a mountain, forcing Su Yongchang, Gu Sheng, and Ling Xiao to retreat several steps.

"Heavenly Palace Realm!"

Gu Sheng was shocked in his heart.

"And at least mid-Heavenly Palace stage! Such a being, yet it’s just... a fish?"

The fishing old man finally acted.

He slowly stood, his body erupting with an even more terrifying aura than the riverbed beast.

Gu Sheng and Ling Xiao were filled with awe, their legs growing weak, almost dropping to their knees.
