Chapter 1027: Chapter 537: Weapon Upgrade (Part 2)

Upon hearing this, Lan Yao felt a warmth in his heart.

"In that case, you should have a share too."

"Of course I do, I’ve got the lion’s share, I lack nothing."

The bit of warmth Lan Yao felt slowly dissipated, and he glared at him arrogantly.

"Don’t show off. Aren’t you afraid I might get jealous and one night decide to attack you?"

"You’re not that kind of person."

"How can you be so sure? You know a person by their face, not their heart!"

Listening to him talk about himself like this, Gu Sheng helplessly pinched his brow.

"If you were that kind of person, you wouldn’t be here today. Don’t tarnish yourself, or I’ll think you’ve gone crazy."

Thinking of what he had just said about himself, Lan Yao awkwardly scratched his head.

"Alright, alright, you’re right. I’ll go light the campfire, then we can feast and craft weapons. Gu Sheng, after we’re done with the weapons, should we head out?"

"Yes, the situation with the Heisha Sect is likely to have escalated. We’ll go back and see who is trying to disrupt the Jianghu."

"Someone’s intent on evil deeds, I wonder if the White Cloud Sect will step in."

"Don’t worry, we’ll find out when we return."

Gu Sheng soothed him with a few words, and Lan Yao finally stopped his rambling.

After the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, Er Gou and the others returned laden with goods.

They deftly skinned the animals, prepared them with branches, and handed them over to Lan Yao to roast over the fire.

When the meat turned crispy, the aroma filled everyone’s nostrils.

Er Gou tore off the biggest leg and handed it directly to Gu Sheng.

"Brother Sheng, you eat!"

Gu Sheng didn’t hold back, biting it with satisfaction and reveling in the fragrance.

They devoured several wild animals in the time it takes for an incense stick to burn.

After eating, Gu Sheng placed various items in front of them.

"You have the horns and pelts in your hand, now let’s start making weapons."

Everyone got excited at his words.

Gu Sheng guided them, and they began crafting with their own hands.

Since these were weapons meant for personal use, they had to craft them themselves to ensure they weren’t tainted with others’ energy, which would make them hard to tame later.

Everyone got busy, and the forest became wrapped in Spiritual Energy.

Various lights flickered occasionally, and everyone’s expressions grew increasingly tense.

Gu Sheng watched over them, occasionally offering assistance, but did not overstep.

Two hours later, Huang Shan’s meteor hammer was the first to be successfully crafted.

A flash of light passed, and the meteor hammer recognized its master.

Upon receiving his new weapon, Huang Shan was overjoyed.

He looked at Gu Sheng with excitement but dared not announce it for fear of disturbing the others.

When their eyes met, Gu Sheng nodded with a smile and pointed to the right.

Seeing the patch of empty land there, Huang Shan immediately understood and hurriedly went over to practice with his meteor hammer.

The power of the meteor hammer was far superior to his previous weapons, but it had just been crafted, so his rapport wasn’t high, and Huang Shan had to keep practicing to enhance it further.

As the meteor hammer turned with a swoosh, Shi Lou and Er Gou simultaneously opened their eyes.

They both glanced at Gu Sheng, showing off the curved blades in their hands.

Gu Sheng pointed towards Huang Shan’s direction, and the two immediately ran off with their new weapons.

Looking at Lan Yao, Gu Sheng furrowed his brows slightly.

Logically, Lan Yao’s strength was higher, so why hadn’t he yet tamed his weapon?

Thinking it over, Gu Sheng offered him a helping hand, though only on superficial points, not involving crucial aspects.

Yet, Lan Yao still hadn’t opened his eyes.

Gu Sheng carefully assessed him, confirming there was nothing amiss, and was then slightly relieved.

While waiting, Gu Sheng took out his Fire Spirit Dagger, inspecting it again and then his heart stirred as he fetched the pair of serpent eyes from the storage ring.

Aligning the serpent eyes on either side of the Fire Spirit Dagger, Gu Sheng waved his hand, releasing a strand of Qi of Dantian to press the serpent eyes onto the dagger.

Raising the dagger for close examination, Gu Sheng nodded with satisfaction, surprised by how well the serpent eyes matched his weapon.

Just as Gu Sheng prepared to proceed, the small tripod suddenly buzzed.

Feeling something was amiss, Gu Sheng was startled, thinking the small tripod was warning him.

Warily, he scanned the surroundings but found nothing unusual.

As he puzzled over it, the small tripod’s vibrations intensified.

Gu Sheng was perplexed and decided to summon the small tripod.

After falling into his hands, the small tripod began emitting energy towards his storage ring.

Gu Sheng rummaged through the contents until he took out two Exotic Beast Dantians, at which point the tripod’s tremors halted.

Watching the small tripod in his hand, Gu Sheng raised an eyebrow.

"You want these two Dantians?"

Upon asking, the tripod buzzed again.

Understanding what it wanted, Gu Sheng tossed the Dantians into the air, allowing the tripod to devour them.

"Go boost yourself. I’ll be enhancing my Fire Spirit Dagger; with these serpent eyes, its power will double, plus some added bonuses. I can hardly wait."

The small tripod instantly flew up and hovered above Gu Sheng.

Ignoring it, Gu Sheng began enhancing his Fire Spirit Dagger.

Lan Yao opened his eyes to see Gu Sheng enveloped in red energy, evidently in an enhancement phase.

He pondered a bit and then suppressed his thrill at his new weapon, quietly standing guard beside Gu Sheng.

As the others had left, he couldn’t leave now; Gu Sheng was enhancing his weapon, and if anyone plotted against them, the consequences would be disastrous.

Under Lan Yao’s protection, Gu Sheng finally opened his eyes.

Seeing Lan Yao, Gu Sheng smiled.

"All done?"

"Yes, just waiting for you. Nice of me, right?"

Seeing his raised brow, Gu Sheng nodded smilingly.

"Nice, let’s go practice some more. Once we’re done, we’ll head back."

The two set off for the open land, practicing with their new weapons side by side.

After half a day, everyone had honed their weapons to their liking, and only then did they leave.

On their return journey, they didn’t go directly to the Heisha Sect but headed to An City, known for its commercial prosperity and numerous martial artists, making it the ideal place to gather information on the Heisha Sect.

After two days of travel, they finally arrived in An City.

Looking at the diverse crowds, Shi Lou tugged at his clothing, then turned up his nose.

"Brother Sheng, look at how fancy everyone’s dressed. We’re wearing such shabby clothes; I’ve been wearing this for months. Should we change too?"

After observing the people around, Gu Sheng nodded.

Here, martial artists and merchants were prevalent, all looking quite polished. Though they didn’t stand out amongst the crowd, they did feel somewhat out of place.

"Alright, let’s find a clothing shop and change. It’s my treat."

At his words, everyone’s eyes brightened as they hastily set off to find a clothing shop to browse.

After some picking and choosing, everyone donned new clothes and their new weapons, looking rejuvenated.

Walking down the street, their postures straighter by the minute.

Seeing the array of goods around them, Shi Lou and the others were dazzled.

"Brother Sheng, should we stroll a bit or find a place to stay?"

"Let’s stroll a bit first and see if we can catch any news."

Understanding his intent, the group nodded in agreement.

They strolled down the main street, gathering no news but plenty of purchases.

Lan Yao, in particular, bought the most, trying to fill his pockets with all the peculiar treasures available.

He stopped by every stall, not missing a single one.

At a jade stall, Lan Yao halted again.

He picked up a Jade Token, scrutinizing it closely, then furrowed his brows.

"Gu Sheng, take a look at this Jade Token."

Gu Sheng leaned in to examine it, perplexed.

"What’s about this Jade Token?"

Glancing around, Lan Yao whispered in Gu Sheng’s ear.

After listening to him, Gu Sheng was startled, his expression shifting faintly but quickly returning to normal.
