Living With My Yandere Professor
Chapter 174: I am not angry
"I really can’t be blamed for this. If I had known, I definitely would have stayed out longer before coming back," Catherine explained aggrievedly.
Although Andrew and Scarlett hadn’t said anything, she knew why this young couple was so resentful toward her.
Andrew was genuinely annoyed, but he couldn’t rightly take it out on Catherine, as she was also unaware.
"Alright! You figure out what you want for dinner, buy the ingredients from the supermarket, and I’ll cook. We’ll be heading back to Blackthorn in two days."
"Oh."
Catherine took the keys and obediently left the house. This time, she didn’t ask Andrew for money for groceries.
"Then I’ll go back to the study. Call me when dinner is ready," Scarlett said lightly.
By the time Andrew turned to look, she had already closed the door behind her, and the sound had faded.
"Hmm... why does it feel like Scarlett is even more upset than I am?"
As Andrew wondered this, he also felt a faint sense of foreboding.
That evening, when Catherine returned, she had bought many ingredients that Scarlett loved. She asked Andrew to cook dinner as an apology to the two of them.
During the meal, Catherine remained silent, giving off a very honest impression.
It was Andrew who proactively broke the awkward silence.
"Sis, since you plan to take the postgraduate entrance exam, why insist on moving out? Wouldn’t it be better to stay in the dorm? It could save you time."
Catherine replied after hearing this, "Everyone in the dorm has their own things to do. The study environment isn’t great, and the library isn’t very suitable either. That’s why I rented a place. Besides, getting free meals from you also saves quite a bit of time."
"Uh..."
After explaining, Catherine continued, "Don’t worry, I won’t bother you by knocking on the door unnecessarily. Just give me a call when you finish making lunch or dinner, or I can just order takeout myself."
How could she not know the real reason behind Andrew’s words? She spoke up to explain to prevent any further misunderstanding between the two.
That night, Andrew and Scarlett lay in bed again. Scarlett still didn’t say much, just like when they had first met.
"Teacher, are you still angry?"
"No," Scarlett replied coldly.
"Uh..." Andrew didn’t know what to say next. This clearly showed that she was angry.
Perhaps sensing that her tone wasn’t great, Scarlett added another sentence: "I’m really not angry, so don’t overthink it."
"Then why aren’t you talking, Teacher?"
"Haven’t I always been like this?"
Scarlett turned over and faced Andrew.
"But, Teacher, you aren’t usually like this with me. I feel like you are angry."
Scarlett didn’t answer immediately. Looking at Andrew’s handsome face, she suddenly felt happy again, and a smile touched her lips.
"I’m really not angry. I’m just a little tired and don’t feel like talking much. I want to rest."
"Tired? Why? You didn’t do much today, did you?"
Andrew was a bit confused. He was the one who drove the half-hour trip back from the countryside. Scarlett hadn’t moved much today; how could she be tired?
"I don’t know either," Scarlett said after thinking for a moment. "Maybe it’s because the start of the semester is approaching, and I have more things to deal with. Thinking about it makes me tired."
"Teacher, you don’t need to worry too much. It’s just routine work. If there’s anything I can do, I can help out."
"Mm."
Scarlett smiled and nodded, then closed her eyes, preparing to rest.
In reality, she didn’t care about the work at the beginning of the semester. When she first came to Blackthorn University as a teacher, she was a workaholic.
Not only did she quickly complete the required teaching tasks assigned by her superiors, but she also managed to carve out plenty of time to write her thesis as a supervisor. The workload at the start of the semester was nothing to her.
But she felt extremely tired, and she couldn’t explain why. After coming out of the bedroom in the afternoon, she felt as if she had lost something, leaving her somewhat absent-minded.
Just like now, she wasn’t actually sleepy, but she lacked any energy and didn’t know what to do.
She lay there lost in thought for a long time. Even past midnight, Scarlett still hadn’t fallen asleep.
Andrew beside her was already breathing evenly, deep in sleep.
Scarlett gazed at Andrew, gradually moving closer, and reached out to tightly hug him.
She still felt somewhat unsatisfied. Then she opened her small mouth and kissed Andrew’s cheek a few times. Her small hands, hidden under the covers, also kept exploring.
Gradually, her face flushed red, and her breathing grew heavy and deep.
Only after letting out a long sigh did she finally close her eyes and slowly drift off to sleep.
...
The next day, Andrew woke up around noon.
His head still felt a bit groggy. As he sat up, he noticed that his pajamas were slightly messy, and Scarlett’s slender arms were wrapped around his waist.
"Did I have a nightmare last night? Was I tossing and turning?"
Andrew immediately thought that perhaps he had had a nightmare and thrashed around, and Scarlett had held him close to comfort him.
But Andrew couldn’t recall anything about what he had dreamt about last night; he had no impression of it at all.
"Forget it, I should get up first."
Andrew straightened his pajamas, then gently removed Scarlett’s arms from around him, put on his slippers, and left the bedroom.
Upon reaching the living room, Andrew saw Catherine sitting on the sofa holding her phone.
Cecilia, who knew where he had found a small pom-pom, was chasing it and darting around the room.
Andrew, who had just woken up, felt a bit tired, so he ignored Cecilia and let him run around.
Seeing Andrew get up and head toward the bathroom, Catherine put down her phone.
"You’re finally awake. I was about to order takeout."
"Then go ahead and order takeout for yourself. I’m a bit tired and don’t want to make lunch. Scarlett and I can just have some fried noodles."
"Uh..."
Catherine was somewhat speechless. "You slept until noon and you’re still tired?"
"Why would I lie to you? I genuinely have no energy."
"Fine, but I’ll just order for myself. You and Scarlett order whatever you want, just in case I order something you don’t like."
Catherine suffered from decision paralysis. After looking at takeout menus for a long time, she still didn’t know what to eat.
Eventually, after Andrew finished washing up and came out, she asked him to order.
"Why don’t you just order for all three of us? I don’t know what to eat."
Andrew gave Catherine an exasperated look before sitting on a stool and starting to order takeout.
As he was looking for a good fried noodle place, Catherine suddenly said to him, "Little brother, I feel it’s necessary to remind you that, medically speaking, one should exercise restraint in that kind of activity. Otherwise, it’s quite damaging to the body, especially for you men."
"What nonsense is that? Stop making things up! I didn’t even get to that point with Scarlett! Speaking of which, I’m annoyed because you suddenly knocked on the door yesterday."
Catherine sneered dismissively upon hearing this.
"Fooling others is fine, but you actually think you can fool me?"
"Why would I fool you? Scarlett and I went to sleep very early last night."
"Then I ask you, why do you look so exhausted, with such deep bags under your eyes?" Catherine questioned disdainfully.
Andrew replied righteously, "I had a nightmare last night; I just slept uncomfortably."
"Heh, keep making that up."
"Who’s making things up? Are you going to order takeout or not?"
"Alright, alright, I won’t argue with you. I was just giving you a reminder. After all, you’re naturally quite thin."
Catherine dropped the subject then.
No matter how Andrew explained, she wouldn’t believe him, because judging by his complexion, he clearly looked a bit weak.
She was studying medicine, after all.
