Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes
Chapter 226: Impossible Triangle
“Host, what do you think I should do? Who should I choose?”
“If it were me, I wouldn’t choose any of them. I’d go look for guys D, E, and F.”
Zhang Zhe analyzed the situation carefully.
He had initially thought Man A was the most suitable choice, because being stingy wasn’t a major flaw, especially for someone like Sakura.
Most of them were willing to become full-time, non-working housewives after marriage. In that case, a stingy husband who handed over his entire salary would be an absolute blessing.
But the woman’s mother had clearly expressed her disapproval, which changed everything.
They hadn’t even started dating yet, and the potential mother-in-law already had a problem with him, which was clearly influencing the daughter’s own opinion.
Add to that the differences in their spending habits, stemming from their family backgrounds, and getting married would be a long shot.
“But that’s just me.”
“You’re different.”
“From your perspective, however, I think you could try dating Man B and see how serious he is about marriage.”
“Why?” Sakura was clearly surprised by Zhang Zhe’s answer.
“Because you obviously like guys like Man B. Your crush on him is practically leaking through the screen.”
“Since that’s the case, my advice is to just go for it. Otherwise, you’ll always be hung up on him, and you won’t be in any state to get married anyway.”
[True. She obviously likes B more. If she married A or C in this state, she’d probably end up cheating on them.]
[I feel like she’s a player herself. A male player and a female player, a perfect match.]
[This isn’t an arranged date. When it comes to dating, you should just go after whoever you like.]
[Hahaha, Man C just became the clown.]
Zhang Zhe was actually thinking about this from two angles.
From the woman’s perspective, she clearly preferred Man B. She was just afraid he wasn’t stable and hadn’t really gotten his wild phase out of his system.
But when it just came to dating, that wasn’t a huge deal.
She wasn’t exactly a conservative girl herself—she was “making friends” with three guys at once. So, dating a player to satisfy her own desires wasn’t strange at all.
If she suppressed those feelings and carried them into a marriage, whoever married her would be the unlucky one.
And from the men’s perspectives, if she ended up rejecting Man A, he would probably be relieved. ‘Thank god I didn’t spend much money on that woman.’
The outcome would just prove his personal code of conduct was right, which would be a satisfying feeling in itself.
As for the unlucky simp, Man C, it didn’t matter. He’d surely find someone new to simp over soon, and maybe this failed experience would even help him grow.
“Host, are you saying I should follow my heart?”
Sakura suddenly confessed:
“I do feel a physical attraction to Man B. Just seeing him makes me happy, and I can’t help but smile when I get a message from him…”
“Then choose B,” Zhang Zhe nodded. “Now that you’ve said what’s truly in your heart, there’s no need to struggle with it anymore.”
“Okay, okay. Thank you, Host.”
“I’ll think carefully about what you said. You’re very professional. Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome.” Zhang Zhe smiled and waved his hand. ‘Say what you will about Sakura, but she really knows how to be polite. She’s about to sign off and still remembers to toss in a couple of compliments.’
[Brother Zhang, aren’t you just setting her up for heartbreak by telling her to choose a player?]
“Let me ask you this: if I told her to choose A or C, wouldn’t I be doing them a disservice?” Zhang Zhe retorted. “She’s already been on several dates with B and is physically attracted to him.”
“If she married A or C right now, put yourself in the husband’s shoes. Would you feel secure?”
[I bet B will just use her and then dump her.]
“Some of you guys give women too much credit for being rational.”
Zhang Zhe sighed as he read the bullet comments. The understanding of some of his viewers was just too shallow. ‘No wonder so many guys get screwed over these days.’
“You’ve heard of a moth drawn to a flame, right? This Sakura is that moth, and Man B is the flame. If she were really worried about him being a player, she would have run for the hills the moment she found out he had over twenty ex-girlfriends.”
“The fact that she’s still around means she doesn’t think it’s a big deal. To put it bluntly, she’s still in the phase of just wanting to feel good, both physically and emotionally.”
“It’s like all those guys from STEM fields who, after making some money, love to chase after high school dropouts with that typical internet-influencer vibe. You think they don’t know those girls are trouble?”
“They can’t help it. They just like the flashy ones.”
Zhang Zhe shrugged. Before getting married, men and women don’t just need to meet the right conditions; they also need to be mentally prepared. Those who haven’t had their fun yet should go get it out of their system first.
…
After the afternoon’s call-in session ended, Xia Yi didn’t rush back home. Instead, she stayed with Zhang Zhe to help him edit some footage from the past few days of streaming.
She hadn’t been in Zhang Zhe’s stream for every single moment and hadn’t seen every caller’s session, so she watched from the side, amazed.
Every now and then, she would ask a question:
“Zhang Zhe, what’s this ‘impossible triangle’ for women? I saw someone spamming that in the comments.”
“That’s simple. It means a woman can’t possibly possess all three of these traits at the same time: ‘beautiful,’ ‘good-tempered,’ and ‘capable.'”
“You’re the exception, of course.”
“Pfft—” Xia Yi covered her mouth and laughed. “Stop messing with me. I’m not really capable, and I’m not that beautiful either.”
“Tell me seriously.”
“Think about it. If a woman is beautiful and good-tempered, she’s likely a beautiful idiot.”
“If she’s beautiful and capable, she probably has a very assertive personality because she doesn’t need to put up with anyone’s crap.”
“And if she’s good-tempered and capable, there’s a high probability she has some flaws in her appearance.”
“However,” Zhang Zhe chuckled, “there are also women who don’t have any of the three. They’re ugly, dumb, and have a bad temper.”
“For someone like that to survive, it’s either because we live in a ‘harmonious society,’ or her family is well-off enough to let her grow up completely unchecked.”
“Ohh~”
“What about guys? Is there an impossible triangle for men?”
“There is,” Zhang Zhe nodded. “For men, out of the three traits—’handsome,’ ‘rich,’ and ‘faithful’—they can have two at most.”
“A man who is handsome, rich, and faithful is either a liar or a perfect man you only find in novels, movies, and TV shows.”
“Is that so?” Xia Yi blinked, looking at Zhang Zhe. “So are you a liar? Or a character who can only exist in fiction?”
“Haha, I’m definitely not what you’d call rich right now.” Zhang Zhe shook his head happily. “What I made last month is actually about the same as what I used to earn at my job in Shencheng City.”
“That’s still very good,” Xia Yi said with great sincerity. “I think as long as our home is stable, it’s okay if we don’t make a huge fortune.”
“Trying to make a fortune means taking big risks, and that’s not necessarily a good thing for a marriage.”
“Insightful!” Zhang Zhe gave Xia Yi a thumbs-up. “With that kind of thinking, you could be a Matchmaker.”
“Hee hee, really? Can I come work part-time at your matchmaking agency then?”
“Of course,” Zhang Zhe nodded.
He thought Xia Yi was just kidding, since she already had a proper job, but he didn’t expect Miss Xia to hold out her hand.
“Then let’s pinky promise?”
