Chapter 362: Furious Solomon

  • Next Chapter

The Grandmaster and Wu stared at the wizard, completely baffled and profoundly confused by the question. Balzac, leaning against the bookshelf, expertly pretended to be just as shocked as the other two.

"Solomon is a commoner," the Grandmaster finally stated, his voice firm. "That fact has been officially confirmed by multiple background checks."

Cedric nodded slowly. "I am perfectly aware of his civilian status. I met Solomon roughly three years ago. Although, I looked different and wore different robes back then, so Solomon might not recognize me now."

The Grandmaster raised a suspicious brow. "Why would the Tower Master of Golden Radiance secretly meet with a commoner three years ago?"

"Solomon was the talk of the entire world back then," Cedric responded simply. "His name was broadcasted everywhere when he supposedly awakened an SSS-rank talent. Of course, it was only later that the public turned on him and labeled him the ’Strongest Loser’., and eventually forget about him. When I initially learned about an SSS-rank talent holder who was completely unable to utilize his power, I was curious about the nature of the talent, and about the boy himself. So, I visited him once and spoke with him."

Cedric smiled fondly at the memory. "Even though his muscles were smaller and his hair was much longer at that time, Solomon was the same. He had the exact same fierce light burning in his eyes. He has not changed his core personality since then, even after gaining all this recent fame."

"We can discuss your secretive past meetings later," Wu interrupted, his curiosity entirely focused on the magical anomaly. "What exactly were you talking about regarding Solomon carrying divinity?"

"I did not sense a single trace of divinity from Solomon when I met him three years ago," Cedric explained, his eyes narrowing slightly. "But he currently wields a distinct divine essence. It might not be sensible to the two of you, but as a Tower Master who has spent centuries dealing with divine artifacts, and as a royal myself who possesses a deep understanding of holy bloodlines, I can clearly sense divinity radiating from him."

The Grandmaster and Wu immediately turned their attention to Balzac, the only former High Priest in the room.

Balzac shook his head lazily. "I was excommunicated by the Holy Empire over two decades ago. My divine connection was severed. I cannot sense anything holy anymore."

Balzac lied smoothly through his teeth, despite being the only person in the room who had actually noticed Solomon carrying the immortal angel’s heart beating inside his chest.

"How could that possibly be true?" the Grandmaster wondered aloud, rubbing his chin.

"Could it be due to the nature of his talent?" Wu theorized. "Solomon claims his SSS-rank talent possesses intense healing properties. Perhaps the restorative nature of the ability mimics a divine aura?"

Cedric chuckled dryly. "He is most likely lying through his teeth about his talent as well. There is absolutely no way an SSS-rank talent is a simple, basic healing ability."

’Even I do not know the true, full extent of how Solomon’s talent actually works,’ Balzac thought to himself, watching the debate. Even though Balzac was the only person in the room who had been told the dark truth about Solomon’s origins by Johan and Elara, the boy’s actual power scaling remained a complete mystery to him.

The Grandmaster sighed and vigorously rubbed his face with both hands. "I am not ready to deal with all of these world-breaking anomalies today. But Solomon is the Millennium Student, so I have to make sure he is safe and properly guided, so that the tragedy doesn’t occur again."

Just then, a loud knock echoed against the magically sealed doors of the office.

The Grandmaster looked at the closed doors, thoroughly confused. "Who could that possibly be? I haven’t called for anyone, and no student can enter this secure corridor unless they are already granted administrative permission."

"That should be Solomon," Cedric noted, leaning on his staff. "He seemed to be marching angrily on his way here earlier, but I forcefully teleported him to a random courtyard so we could have this conversation in peace. He must have finally walked back. Maybe I should have sent him to the dungeons. He would have been entertained there."

Balzac did not waste a single second. He immediately climbed onto the Grandmaster’s enchanted flying carpet hovering near the window. Wu quickly followed suit, stepping onto the woven fabric. Watching the two administrators flee, Cedric laughed heartily and climbed aboard as well.

The Grandmaster looked at the three of them, completely confused and entirely helpless.

Balzac offered a lazy salute, Wu gave a respectful nod, and Cedric offered a cheerful thumbs-up. With a casual swirl of his finger, Cedric magically unlocked all the windows and the oak doors.

The flying carpet shot out the open window, carrying the three masters away into the sky. A second later, Solomon walked into the office. He wore an incredibly displeased, deeply annoyed look on his face.

"What happened?" the Grandmaster asked nervously, trying to act casual. "Is this regarding the unfortunate incident that just occurred in the grand junction? Worry not, the investigation is underway and once the report is out, they will be punished accordingly."

Solomon marched up to the desk and leaned on the surface, glaring directly into the administrator’s eyes. "I was just informed by a senior technician that my live stream is offline because my account lacks the final administrative authorization."

The Grandmaster played dumb flawlessly. "That is impossible. Didn’t I promote you in front of your eyes?"

’How the hell did he find out about the authorization block so soon?!’ the Grandmaster panicked internally. ’It hasn’t even been a full day! He was supposed to think it was a hardware issue for at least a week!’

"Check your console again," Solomon demanded firmly.

The Grandmaster sighed and tapped his glowing crystal console, pretending to run a thorough diagnostic check. "Ah. Yes, that is true. I can see the pending authorization request submitted exactly thirty-three minutes ago. I will accept it right now."

He tapped a few more runes, authorizing the account. "There. You should be able to go live now."

Just then, the silver owl flew rapidly through the open window, circling excitedly around Solomon’s head before landing perfectly on his shoulder, its crystal lens glowing with a bright, active blue light.
